There are several miles of well maintained trails through the deep forest and along the pristine waterfront. This is a secluded conservation area with two remote cabins. This is a unique opportunity: you will have the entire conservation area and the two mini cabins just for your group.  (Even if you only have one person or a small group you are still welcome to reserve the site.)

This is a quaint, off grid cabin located in Elliotsville, Me., surrounded by wilderness, next to the Appalachian Trail in the 100 Mile Wilderness. Propane lights, glass front woodstove, fully operational kitchen, propane cookstove, fire pit out front, BBQ grill on porch. Firewood and propane and plenty of water at sink provided. 2 8ft kayaks for your use to explore all the ponds and lakes nearby. You can spend days or weeks exploring the area, hiking, biking, canoeing, mountain climbing and swimming. Its like going back in time a hundred years but you have some cell reception, unlike our ancestors. Have made several improvements to cabin not yet reflected in guest photos. Yeti type cooler provided for refrigeration of food for longer stays. The cabin is small but can accommodate 5 easily. Queen bed with bunk beds in 1st floor bedroom, full size and twin bed in upstairs bedroom. Clean linens provided. Open kitchen and living room. Seems like most people love it. Pretty sure you will too. So much to do in the area. Be as bored or as active as you want. Welcome book with directions to local spots all very close. Waterfalls, the most beautiful lake (Onawa), swimming holes... all close by. Appalachian trail out back. Other sites close by must be driven to but close by still, away from town. Thank you to my guests for uploading photos. I'm not good at that so I rely on you.

Solar lights at night add to the ambiance.Feel free to explore the hiking trails on the 100 Acre property. This area is known for its wildlife. As you will see many different tracks, should you encounter our wildlife friends please allow them the space they deserve.Located approximately 40 minutes from Sugarloaf and Saddleback Mountains, these mountains offer magnificent views. Quill Hill has a spectacular 360 degree view where you can see for miles Visit Rangeley Lake to grab lunch and Browse the shops in town. Smalls Falls is breath taking offers another great spot for a picnic. Closer to home Porter Lake is a beautiful lake to Swim, Kayak, Canoe or Fish. This lake has an island which is home to Bald Eagles raising their young there. Eustis offers Flagstaff Lake, a popular spot for Kayakers. The lucky ones get a glimpse of a Moose.Maybe you prefer Biking or golfing in Carrabassett at Sugarloaf, hiking in Coos Canyon in Weld, Whitewater Rafting in the Forks Certain times of the year folks take tubes floating down the Sandy River. Our ATV trail is right out of the driveway heading up the dirt road. There is a lot to see and do in the area. . We look forward to meeting our guests, our new friends. Bring food, ice, clothing, extra blankets if you are one that gets chilled at night and of course some bug and tick repellent. Your site will be well stocked for comfort. Please expect to see us while we are maintaining and improving the grounds. Your enjoyable stay is our top priority. Our hope is that you will love our property as much as we do. Balsam Woods campground is less than a minute’s drive from Piper Pond, a 2-mile-long lake with public boat launch and beach access. Onsite, we have a camp store and snack bar stocked with necessities, treats, and goodies for the whole family. There is no shortage of fun activities with our heated pool, classic rec hall, playground, a new jumping pillow, and gem mining! We have three cozy rustic cabins as well as three deluxe cabins for those wanting to experience the beauty of the great outdoors but who may not be ready for the tenter or RV life!

Learn more about this land: Located only six (6) miles north of the Sugarloaf access road we have (10) units. We have four (8) studio kitchenettes with various bed configurations, and two (2) hotel style rooms that have a coffee pot, microwave and fridge. All our rooms have TV, free Wi-Fi and good cell service. We also have a game room and lounge with a full kitchen in it and outside two grills and a fire pit for your enjoyment. In the winter we have a ski tuning room. We are also only 2 miles south of the town of Stratton-Eustis and Flagstaff Lake. The views are amazing and the hunting is second to none. Resides on the Canadian boarder in Western Maine. Fishing for lake trout, salmon, and bass with water access right from a privately owned boat launch is a must while visiting our campground. You will never want to leave!Learn more about this land:We offer both tent sites and RV sites to renters. we are in a grassy field with some trees for shade. The campground runs along the Moose River and is right at the mouth of the river where Big Wood Pond flows into it. We have very good fishing and boating with a boat launch big enough to accommodate a pontoon boat right at the campground. There's also an extensive trail system for recreational vehicles of all types including but not limited to trucks, jeeps, ATV, UTV, snowmobiles ect. There's also a seaplane business that operates out of the boat landing on the campground. They offer scenic plane rides though the mountains and remote fishing trips on ponds that are normally inaccessible the normal foot traffic. Tickets can be purchased upon request.
