We are a delightfully funny almost 5 acre farmstead built by Swedish Pioneers in 1876. Our Hipcamp was started in 2023. We have a variety of areas for vehicles, tents and small campers midst leaning trees and funky old farm buildings. Fenced paddocks to run free. Well water via hydrant, some drinking water available. Outhouse. Access to electricity, if you have an extension cord. Lots of campfire wood to collect, burn and take. The Milky Way on a clear night.

I am proud to be a fourth-generation caretaker of this farm and surrounding acreage. My great-grandfather purchased this land in 1921 and since then, my family has been farming the best way that we knew how. For the last 30 years, that has meant a divergence from traditional farming practices to focus on regenerative farming-- farming that focuses on enriching the health of the soil and the animals instead of depleting it.On our farm, we raise beef, lamb, pigs and chickens and they all live out on pasture. In our farm store we sell meat, eggs, and raw, all-grass dairy products like milk, butter, cheese, kefir, and yogurt. Our customers drive from all parts of central Kansas to shop at Jako Farm because our food is different than food in the grocery store. We call it JakoPure food.Not only do we share our life-giving, gut-restoring food with others, but we want to share the experience of our farm, too. That's why we've started hosting guests on hipcamp so that you can truly experience what's special about our farm. Each location provides a unique perspective on our farm, and you'll engage a different part of our story at each place. But wherever you stake your temporary claim at Jako Farm, we hope you experience the peace and rest that we know and love.Learn more about this land:Jako Farm is a working regenerative farm, and this campsite provides an easy view of all that goes on here. The cows and sheep will graze near by while the chickens scratch in the distance. You'll see the farmers moving the animals to new pasture and the llama playing games with the sheep. If you're up at sunrise, you'll see Ken bringing the cows up to the barn for milking (April through November). Its pretty quiet here, except for the subtle noises of wildlife. (Fair warning: if you're in a tent, you will probably hear the milking machine kick on at 6:30am.) We're also proud to be a smell-free farm because all animals live out on pasture. There are killer sunrises and sunsets here. If you're lucky, you'll also see our resident bald eagle pair soaring through the sky.A bathroom with shower is available for your use in the barn nearby.Please be respectful of farm operations, although we're always open to answering questions if you see us around. Learn more about this land:Come stay for a night at Turner's Quarter in our quiet country neighborhood. Enjoy access to a large fire pit, free firewood, and a large area for your camping activities. Take in a view of the bright night sky you just cant get in the city. Only 1 minute off the highway and only a quick walk to the main house in case of an urgent need. Perfect spot to stay a night if you're traveling across the state and don't want to stay at a busy campground. There are other houses nearby, but only home you can really see is ours from the site. We are careful to ensure our camper's privacy during their stay!

This campground can be found within city limits of Dwight, Ks located in northern Morris County along the Union Pacific Railroad line. It's the perfect place to stay during your back road adventure through the Flint Hills.
Enjoy exploring the four corners of our small town on two feet, two wheels or four. Have a picnic or play horseshoes at the City Park, visit the Dwight Library or attend a Sunday service at the Community Church. On Main Street you can find two large limestone structures from the early days of Dwight - the old limestone hardware store and the limestone bank/post office.
Dwight is minutes from Ag Heritage Park and Museum in Alta Vista; the historic Council Grove with shopping, restaurants, lakes and Flint Hills Nature Trail; and Fort Riley Army Base, home of the Big Red 1.

I could spend very good time with beautiful sunset, the flocks of ducks flying together, and the groups of goats and sheep were also wonderful. And clam night.
The owner is very kind and with many hospitalities.
We can do a campfire in the firepit or we can bring a portable firepit. The parking location has some flexibilities, so I could park my car as a wind shield.
I guess that family camping is also recommended, if you like animals and if you are beginners.

Beverly’s hipcamp was the perfect place to stop on our roadtrip out west. The dogs had so much fun exploring the space and Beverly was so incredibly kind and welcoming. It unexpectedly rained most of the night and we were able to set up a cozy spot to relax and unwind after a long day of driving inside the Whitehouse. We loved the spot so much we will be staying on our return trip back home!!!

We had such a wonderful time at Beverly's! It's a very peaceful spot, and Beverly made sure we had everything we could POSSIBLY want. She even brought us a table and chairs to use. We really couldn't have asked for a better host, and her animals were just as wonderful too. Still, one of the MOST outstanding things about our stay was getting to know Beverly herself. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely stay there.

Beverly's place was a perfect spot for us. We felt secluded back behind the white shed. The location is entirely fenced in. I recommend taking a walk or bike ride on the trail adjacent to the property. Beverly is an involved host and will make sure you have everything you need. We would stay again.

Fairly level, quiet campsites with lots of leeway in where you park your vehicle. Charming small farm atmosphere with what Beverly called her “motley crew” of two sheep, one goat and two small, well-behaved dogs which got along well with our dog. Meadowlark Trail is about five minutes’ walk away.

This was one of those stays where everything just felt right. The campsite itself is spacious and peaceful, surrounded by a beautiful garden that carries its own calm energy. I loved the land—it holds you in a way that feels grounding and free at the same time.
Beverly's openness added to the experience without ever feeling intrusive. She even offered me the option of staying in her little teardrop RV, which was such a generous touch. Her dogs, were friendly, playful, and brought a lot of joy to the space. Honorable mention to the sheep and goat who were also a very nice addition to the farm experience.
Overall, it was more than just camping—it was connection, beauty, and ease. A place where you can breathe deep, feel welcome, and truly enjoy the adventure.

Great experience staying on a working farm. Their food store changed the way i will eat from now on. All grass fed animals and the best cheeses. My only regret is that i didn’t buy more cheese curd. Their store is open 24/7 and is on the honor system for payment. Farmers are the best.

Our group of four had the most wonderful stay at Beverly’s farm. Beverly is an amazing host, as well as person! She made sure we had everything we needed and was very thorough with instructions. We enjoyed getting to know her and her two cute pups. The goat and sheep were a fun addition! Close drive to Lindsborg and Coronado Heights, which offers the most beautiful sunset. We enjoyed every bit of our trip and will definitely be making our way back soon!

Actually stayed at the Marion County Lake but it wasn’t listed. It’s a nice quiet lake with residential housing around the lake. They also have a heated fishing dock.
