We are on 7 beautiful acres in Baldwin City, KS. We're in town, but you'll feel like you're secluded in the country so you get the convenience of being close to downtown Baldwin, just 3 minutes away, while also feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere peacefully camping, just you and the birds. Our "glamper" is a 1960's retro camper that has been fully restored. The outside still looks very retro, but when you step inside you'll instantly surrender to the relaxation that awaits. Sink into the pile of fluffy pillows, take in the breathtaking boho vibe and the many amenities including A/C and Heat, wifi, a microwave, television with Netflix, refrigerator, waterless toilet and hand-washing sink. Games and snacks are tucked away in the kitchen area for you to enjoy your leisurely time at The Nest! With a large deck on the front you can take in the views of a nearby pond and a meandering creek which serves as a wildlife highway. Don't be surprised when a deer walks within view or a blue heron flies overhead. The deck is adorned with overhead lights that stretch to a nearby firepit and outdoor sitting area. The Sleep Shack was perfect! AC worked well. It was clean and stocked with camping chairs and cornhole boards and bags. Shower and port-a-potty were clean; numerous fire pits to choose between with cooking grates attached to most of them. Would highly recommend while biking the Flint Hills Trail or just for a relaxing night or two away.

We had a great time at Susan’s Hipcamp. The spot was secluded, peaceful, and very comfortable for a glamping-style stay. Susan was welcoming and helpful, and the whole setup made it easy for us to relax and enjoy time with friends. Definitely a lovely place for a quiet getaway.

This was my first time visiting Kansas and my stay at The Light Center made it so memorable. For making a cross country trip, this was an amazing place to settle for a couple of nights. Susan and the volunteers were very kind and welcoming. They made sure my time at their cabin was taken care of. I came with my little dog and we had such a calming experience exploring the forest trail on the property. It was absolutely beautiful and my favorite stop on my week long journey. I hope to visit again!

Amy and Darius are caring hosts. They have built a comfortable camp spot with the perfect balance of amenities. Showers, port a potties, fire rings and access to potable water. The two RV hookups do not overwhelm the Flint Hills setting with plenty of space for tent campers. Throw in their local knowledge and it fills all your needs. Highly recommend!

Our stay in the yurt was great! We had a ton of rain which flooded the trail to the yurt but Susan came to the rescue in the gator. She introduced us to animals on the farm and let my daughter gather eggs. Lovely place to stay for a quick getaway!

The land was fantastic even though the weather wasn't ideal for hiking and fires. There are a lot of cool places I would like to spend more time in on more favorable days. The barn is a great place to hang out during the rain, and I found the small library to be a great place to sit and read.

The sleep shack was a wonderful place to recover and rest while getting ready for a gravel race. There were many thoughtful amenities to go along with this place. Chairs, tables, fire pit, air conditioner, shower, etc were all provided. It’s a great value for the money. The scenery of the Flint Hills was amazing! Of course, I enjoyed getting to explore the trails and the surrounding gravel countryside.

The boys were kind of scared of all the animal sounds, but now its the most talked about thing! The beds were comfortable in the yurt and the lights were pretty at night. Wooded and secluded. Land was pretty and we enjoyed walking around and sitting out by the fire. The barn was great! Host was great!
