A massive flood in Jan 2021 brought 100's of gigantic full sized redwood trees and boulders smashing down thru most of the previous structures. It is in the process of rebuilding. Children are welcome. Alcohol is discouraged. No electronic music devices. Fires in designated pits only. Dogs are welcome off-leash. Pack out trash. Peaceful and private RV camping under the oaks with picnic table, fire pit and Adirondack chairs. We currently have two sites on our property. They are about 300 feet apart and not easily visible from each other. Property is fully fenced; both sites are next to an open field under the oaks with vineyard, olive orchard and mountain views. This property is 30 miles from Paso Robles and almost perfectly centered between Missions San Antonio and San Miguel. Lakes San Antonio and Nacimiento are close by. Coastal towns of Cayucos and Morro Bay are about an hour scenic drive, passing many wineries along the way. There is space for multiple RVs or additional tents sharing your party's RV restroom facilities. Site one will accommodate sixteen people and multiple vehicles. Site two will accommodate ten people and two vehicles. For larger groups we ask that that you book both sites. We have hosted many family reunions and the feedback has been 100% positive. The Hill Fort - Camelot

Camelot was founded on the Summer Solstice, in the year 2000, by a small group of like minded people as a peaceful refuge from the trappings and ills of society. The name "Camelot" was chosen because of the groups' belief in a round table approach to problem solving, and the desire to reach a unanimous group consensus in any course of action which might affect any one individual of the group. A pendragon was elected as the the lifetime group leader, or "first among equals". This position exists today, though the members of the original group have faded into history. We are located a 45 minute drive from Carmel Valley, CA and 50 minutes from Pinnacles National Park. We have 15 tent and RV sites available. We can only accommodate vehicles under 25 ft and there are no hookups. No campfires allowed. Wifi only works in certain areas of the property. Pets are welcome but must be kept on leash. We have a toilet and shower but campers must supply their own soap, shampoo and towels. Please note, there are a lot of animals nearby so there will be noise at night.

Smith Ranch

Once the original Lynch Ranch, the Smith Ranch offers a primative, dry camp with easy access down a dirt road and plenty of privacy. Tucked back in the Oak trees, you'll have views of Tierra Redonda mountain and the Coast range. (Cow camp is just over the hill from Hearst Castle but takes an hour and a half to drive to the coast and San Simeon.) The ranch also offers some of the best star gazing this side of the Sierras!

Elkhorn Slough Camping

This property is located in a quiet canyon close to the Elkhorn Slough. The land faces south for plenty of sun. This hillside goes from 0%-15% slope allowing for good views out towards the ocean and slough. There is lots of wildlife for example deer, coyotes, bobcats, hawks, owls, turkeys and great blue herons. I have seen more wildlife on this property than I have camping at state parks.

McWay Falls is a unique sight nestled into the coastline in the Big Sur National Park. The Overlook Trail to McWay Falls is a pleasant thirty minute round trip. Perfect for a quick stop to break up the drive through the National Park or take your time and spend the day on the waters edge. A beautiful sight to behold, these falls are just one of the treasures tucked away into Big Sur.

When to go

The best time to visit McWay Falls is during the spring and fall when the weather is mild and the crowds are thinner. Summer brings more visitors and fog, which can obscure views. Winter may see heavy rains causing trail closures, so always check conditions before your trip.

Know before you go

Check for trail closures before visiting, as some areas may be inaccessible due to damage or weather conditions.
Stay on designated trails to protect the sensitive habitats and for your own safety.
McWay Falls Overlook Trail is a must-see, but be aware that it's closed halfway due to erosion.
Bring water and sun protection, as facilities are limited and the California sun can be intense.
Photography is encouraged, but drones are not permitted to preserve the natural tranquility.
