This was an absolutely majestic spot, the view was beautiful and peaceful. The park was so clean showers were spotless. The swimming area was such a nice bonus. Definitely recommend you rent the kayaks, the surrounding water area is wild with deer, ducks, and other wildlife. The water was warm and clear. Monica was a super host made sure we had everything and was super responsive. I could not have picked a nicer spot to spend my birthday. We will definitely be back, this is a new favorite! Bring good bug spray!!!!!

This was our 2nd vacation at Tiny Village and it was amazing! The lake is fantastic! We swam, there are plenty of water stuff to play with too like the bongo water trampoline! The campgrounds are pet friendly. Monica was absolutely incredible and helpful! The seasonal camp goers were very welcoming and friendly. We highly recommend this campground for families and solo travellers.

Weekend Trip to Tiny Village Woodland

We absolutely loved our stay. Tiny Woodland has it all and is super inclusive for families and pets. The weather was perfect for swimming and we enjoyed the beach and swimming area thoroughly. You can tell the love the staff puts into making sure you have a great experience (clean, beautiful landscaping). I loved the quiet evenings and watching the fireflies by the water. We will be coming back again!

I stayed in the Meadow 1 for 3 nights and had an awesome time. The campsite is on a really cute farm with miniature goats and chickens, which added a fun and relaxing vibe. Everything was clean and well set up, and the surroundings were super peaceful. The hosts were great — really friendly, organized, and made sure everything was easy and comfortable. It felt like a lot of care went into the place, which made a big difference. Overall, it was a super chill, enjoyable stay. I’d definitely come back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice getaway in nature. 10/10.

1 night at Sweet Escape

Alison and Marie were incredibly kind hosts, their land is a great spot for cyclists + other campers looking for a spot to sleep off the beaten trail. We were cycling the Waterfront Trail and this was a lovely alternative to busier, more expensive mainstream camp options.

Weekend Trip to Bushwood!

We spent 4 unforgettable days at Pine Solitude, and it truly lived up to its name. The site is a private, hike-in spot surrounded by water & trees, offering lots of shade & privacy. It comes with a picnic table, fire pit, thunderbox, and even a canoe — perfect for a quiet getaway. Our group of 6 and my dog Cashew had plenty of space for 3 tents, 2 hammocks, and a big tarp that kept us dry during a heavy rain on the last night. Highlights of the trip included stargazing in the dark zone (some of the best night skies we've ever seen), daily campfires, cooking meals together, and mellow canoe rides around the lake, which my dog Cashew especially loved! We played guitar, board games, and tried our luck fishing (no bites, but still fun). The weather was mostly hot & humid during the day but cooled off nicely at night. Even the big rainfall couldn’t dampen our spirits thanks to our tarp setup. We didn’t hear/see anyone else all weekend thanks to the site's privacy and serenity. That said, be prepared for lots of mosquitoes, deerflies & horseflies — nature’s price of admission. Next time we’ll be bringing a bug zapper racket! Huge thanks to our host Brian, who was incredibly helpful and friendly. He transported our gear in and out with his ATV and made sure we had water and firewood when needed. We highly recommend Pine Solitude to anyone looking for a peaceful, off-grid experience. It’s a perfect spot to unwind, reconnect w/ friends, & soak in the beauty of Ontario’s wilderness.

Just got back from the most peaceful getaway hosted by the lovely Chloeena and Larry — and wow, they’ve truly thought of everything! The cabin, the outhouse, the shower… every detail is so well designed and blends right into the natural beauty around you. If you're craving a break from the buzz of daily life, this is the spot to disconnect and soak in the sounds of nature (birds chirping included — free of charge!). It’s the kind of place where your phone takes a backseat, but you still get just enough Rogers signal to check the basics and avoid full-on digital withdrawal. No doomscrolling here — just de-stressing. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind, unplug, and enjoy a little peace and quiet with a side of fresh air and forest magic.

What a peaceful little gem! A calm and cozy place where you instantly feel at home, thanks to two truly amazing hosts who go above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable. This is a beautiful place to stay deep in the wood. It's very calme, no noise. You are near of a k lake to swim and a nice deck for the sunshine. It's a calme lake, we are alone on the for the time we stay there. Paddleboard was so cool.

Hardworking and honest host who will do whatever is in their power to accommodate their guests. This is an awesomely unique property where you can be right in the middle of the farmette action.

Weekend Trip to Trapper Lake

Extremely great place to relax. We had a great time. Kelly was the best as when we stayed got hit with a big storm and came out that night/AM to make sure we are safe. The site is large and clean, has a nice fire pit with grill. More than enough room for a family getaway. I hope to make it back a few times a year.

Weekend Trip to Still Wild Acres

The site is beautiful and very quiet. Going for a ride in the paddleboat is fun. We loved watching the fireflies come out at night. This has nothing to do with the site itself, which is really great and safe, but just a general reminder to campers in Southern Ontario: make sure you check the weather before your trip! Thunderstorms are strong and impressive in that part of the country.

What really stood out to us was the beautiful view peaceful and such a nice escape from the city. Monica was also amazing! She accommodated us so kindly and made sure we felt welcome the entire time. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with a great host and relaxing vibes, this is it.

Hemlock Point Campground

Hemlock Point is a set on a private waterway fed by the Black River, and is great for kayaking and canoeing. Campers are also welcome to hike the marked waterfront trail or others within the 56 acre property, just down the road is the Black river bridge and put-in for the Black river paddling route to the Queensboro Dam. ATV's are permitted on the road, and friendly dogs are welcome off leash. This is a unique landscape, nestled between Mt. Moriah , the Elzevir pluton complex and the Black River in an ultramafic zone, with coloured quartz veins and pillowed granite outcroppings. Mixed forest with varied species of deciduous and conifer trees due to historical aerial seeding, after a forest fire over 80 years ago, leaving charred stumps that can still be found from natural char preservation. Home to pileated woodpeckers, hawks, eagles and kingfishers, otters, fishers, and everything in between, either from the vantage of the hammock or on a hike in the forest this natural site won't disappoint.

Accommodations are a 16’ x 20’ prospector wall tent, set up with queen size deluxe air mattress, bunk bed and single cots for extra guests. We have a food prep table, dishes, frying pan and cooking pot, a small microwave, single induction cooktop, small bar fridge and a kettle and coffee maker. For the last 26 years we have lived here on our 6 acres of property where our Maple Sugar Bush allows us to produce our very own maple syrup every spring. [Side note: The sugar shack itself has been on the property for over 40 years.] We also raise a small but varied collection of farm animals, grow vegetables, and operate a small Market Booth that sells handmade "Canadian Themed" Home Decor goods and Maple Products at the Frontenac Farmer's Market. Throughout the property are numerous short, looping, walking trails that meander throughout the Sugar bush, pasture area, 3 season pond, and our farm animal "homes". These trails are perfect for short nature walks, where you'll experience natural wildflowers and plants, see and hear song birds, small animal wildlife and of course, farm life too. We are also located on the edge of the Eastern Ontario "Dark Sky" Area, which means we have a very nice view from the edge of our pasture of the North Sky stars on a clear night, with very minimal light pollution. Our varied collection of farm animals includes; lots of chickens, (including roosters who DO crow in the early morning hours), miniature goats, horses, a couple of barn cats, and a dog. During your stay with us you are welcome to come learn about and interact with our animals and daily farm life, if you so desire, and farm fresh eggs, maple syrup, local honey, and homemade baked goods, are also available to purchase too. You will see many of the rocks have been piled up or made into walls to once make way for cattle to pasture. Now the land is slowly returning back to the forest. We work hard to be environmentally friendly and support the abundance of wildlife living in the area. Choose from three uniquely different areas for country camping on 55 acres.: Pine Solitude! : A Slice of Heaven site tucked into a stand of white pines on a peninsula, overlooking a shallow lake with three islands. Walk-in (approx. 800m) Big Sky Solitude! : Our best site for stargazing on an open peninsula, overlooking a shallow lake with three islands. Walk-in (approx. 600m) Meadow Bluff! : A sweet, secluded spot on a raised bluff overlooking a lovely, quiet meadow. The site is tucked into the edge of a white pine forest. Walk-in (approx. 400m).

Trapper Lake

4WD/ATV or walk-in access only with a rough 2km of road to access campsites. Campsites are located along remote undeveloped lake with clear mostly spring-fed water. Sites are located further down on the lake where you will be able to drive to with the appropriate vehicle (listed above). To access swimming water, you will need to boat out into the lake a bit as the sites are located in a low-water area. Great for snorkeling and swimming, but to get out further into the lake where the best areas are for both these activities you will need a watercraft (paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, or small boats). On the lake itself is an island commonly used for nesting birds, and the water is both clean and clear. There is also endless ATV trails adjacent to the property, so there is more to enjoy than just the lake itself.
