Site 5 - Terry Ranch Camping and Fishing
Beautiful property with lots of space to explore. Terry and all his dogs were very friendly, he came to chat for a few minutes in the morning and the rest of the time we had to ourselves. Lots of wildlife around, elks calling and coyotes howling (but Barney the Pyrenees did a great job chasing them off). We camped next to the stocked fish ponds and thankfully no mosquitos! Sign by the road made the place easy to find. Great base camp for a day trip to Wallowa Lake.

Terry is incredible, and I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Aimme. However anyone out there would be blessed to stay on their ranch!

Nice spot to camp beautiful view private setting. Ponds had some nice fish in them had the place to ourselves. Kids had a great time paddling kayak that was provided and catching frogs. Made a great base camp to day trip to Wallowa lake as well.

Stunning piece of property and fab site overlooking the ponds and countryside. Fresh water from the spring on site via hose! Trees perfectly spaced for your hammock! Always appreciate a picnic table and outhouse. Rod happy to shoot the shit with you, a great historian of Elgin and this community.
We’re not ones to fish but the opportunities are fab here.
Great location, just out of La Grande, and perfect layover en route to Joseph.
(Also, this is an active ranch - if cow patties on your site are offensive then this isn’t for you)

Camping was great beautiful area to relax and spend time with family! Fishing was great overall would comeback and do it all again!

We booked three nights but were only able to stay for one before we had to leave for a family emergency. In our time there we loved the open spaces and beautiful landscape. Didn’t get a chance to fish but the ponds looked awesome and there were frogs everywhere. It overcast while we were there but I would imagine the stargazing is amazing on a clear night. Rod was nice and helped us get to our spot on his property. The dogs are all nice too.
