Site 7 Pros, Mids, and Cons
Overall everyone really enjoyed camping here!
PROS
- site 7 had a portapotty right nearby (in the parking area that’s a 30 second walk from the campsite) and it was serviced recently when we got there. At the end of the trip (3 days later) it started looking notably worse but there’s a chart inside that shows how regularly they clean it
- site 7 is separated from the main road as well as other campsites, giving privacy
- very pretty and fun! Both the campsite and river
MIDS
- there’s firewood on site that you can prepurchase which is good, but it’s not prebundled, and each bundle costs $10. It’s hard to guess how much wood a “bundle” is and we worried about taking too much/too little
- the walk to the water isn’t too long, but if you’re gonna bring stuff to the river it’d be better to drive down the road with all your stuff, unload it at the trail head, then drive back and walk
CONS
- not allowing 2 people to park in the site 7 area doesn’t make sense. 3 cars could fit and that ended up being another $20+ in parking passes and extra work. It felt like a money grab rather than something reasonable
- river access is either through the edge of site 1’s campsite or a longer walk across the bridge. Feels like poor planning/layout
CONCLUSION
Almost everyone said they’d love to come back for the river experience, but the higher costs turned a couple of our group away. Next time, we’ll buy the firewood ourselves and might try to find a closer but secluded site
