We are a maple sugar, beautiful farm with a majestic view of the mountains and sunsets. NEWEST TENT SITE UNDER THE PINE TREES… VERY COOL . Sugarmakers FAVORITE “PINE HOLLOW “ (#4) We have 3 more sites for tents. There are 2 sites available along the west side of our maple forest, beautiful sunset views. Horses live at our neighbors, across the field from these sites and are beautiful to hear and see! 1 site , site #3. on the north side , with awesome morning sunrises glistening across the meadow. This site is excellent for parties of 2 - 8 with one or several tents. Tree hammock at this site, as well as 2 picnic tables and chairs. Our newest tent site is #4 “Pine Hollow”. Very secluded under massively high pines. It’s the sugar-maker’s favorite. Sunset views are only 20ft away. You can drive diagonally across field from Kozy Kabin to site #4 where the tall pines are, tuck your tent under the majestic tall pines , to the right of the Vast Trail entrance to the main forest. Our cabin at Kozy Korner is popular for those that want the rustic life but a little comfort. It has a double bed , sheets and pillows available for you . Box with extra blankets is in cabin. Comfy recliner inside cabin and actually one outside on the back porch as well. One should follow the “ tent sites” sign, at the curve of our private driveway, drive straight up hill. Pass the 2 small apple trees, then a boat and trailor. Proceed a few feet further , passing 2 tent sites, then you will see the cabin, Kozy Kabin, at the top of the hill. At the bottom of our driveway, Just 150 steps away west, turning to the right, across RT 140 just before our neighbors black mailbox, there is access to a refreshing swim hole in the Poultney River . 2 more swim holes along Rt 140 are “deep rocks” and “ flat rocks”. Quarter mile west of us is deep rocks, you can park along RT 140, at the guard rail. “Flat rocks” is at Morse Hallow Rd , about 1.5 miles east of us, also park along guard rail. .Verlaska Farm is approx 2 miles to the Fairgrounds trailhead of Slate Valley Trails. Our farm is 2 1/2 miles from Poultney Village, where there are restaurants and a couple of awesome pubs, named Poultney Pub ( Tuesdays is bluegrass live music, various live music opportunities almost every night) . and Toads Burger Bar. Rail Trail Eatery and Perry’s Restaurants on Main St. have awesome breakfast and lunches. Lake St Catherine is a “ stones throw” away, approx. 4 1/2 miles, south on Rt 30. LSC has a public beach area and some walking trails( mostly easy and flat) Lake Bomoseen is a distance of 10 miles, north on Rt 30. The largest lake entirely in the state of Vermont!!!😊 Our amenities include hot shower, bike rinse off station, potable water, charging devices station, port a potty, communal campfire with grill for over the campfire cooking. You are welcome to k-cup coffee, sugar and cups provided on countertop inside sugarhouse. Milk for tea or coffee provided in fridge behind sugarhouse main door. Picnic tables at all sites, chairs at all sites. Come stay with us and we can be available for any information you may need.

Site 2 is situated on shady side of maple forest. Hot Showers, campfire , port a potty, potable water, charging stations are available. It is approximately 30 steps walking from driveway to the right( west) to a swimming hole of the Poultney River, by black mailbox of neighbors. There are 2 other swim holes with in a mile or two, . One is west of us, “deep rocks” and one is west , by Morse Hallow road. Both have parking in art 140 near the guard rail.

Site 3 is on north side of maple forest. Shady canopy! Can accommodate 2-8 people. Has 2 picnic table, chairs, and plenty of room for any size tent. You can adjust where tables are. You have use of community campfire down by barn, no camp fires at site. Barn has hot showers, port a potty charging station, and potable water.

#4. Pine Hallow - Sugarmaker’s favorite

A secluded pine forest opening among tallest pine trees EVER!!! Smells great and very private in the pine tree forest to the right of vast trail entrance. This entrance is 50 ft diagonally from Kozy Kabin , across field. There is a swim hole in the river across the main rd, Rt 140 within walking distance.

Site #1. Is along the west side nestled under a canopy of the Maple Mound ( 5 acres of maple trees). Beautiful sunsets seen from here. There is a picnic table, chairs, and plenty of shady area for tenting. At this individual site approx 20’x20’. There is no hook ups but , we have hot shower, port a potty , bike rinsing station, charging station for devices, for all campers “at the barn” plus community campfire ring, also 150 steps from driveway to a great swimming hole in the Poultney River .

Cabin is on NW side of Maple Forest! Has large porch with seating and small table! Double ( full size) bed with real sheets and pillows! ( provided) Sleeps 2. There is also a folded cot with a mattress for a single! (Bedding provided as well) Max 3 people. No fires, even though there is a wood burning stove. Husband uses that for hunting season! Communal campfire ring, hot showers , port a potty and charging station down by barn area also included. Still rustic with a touch of home!!!

Just needs to be flatter, tent sites need to be flat to prevent sliding to one side of tent.

I had a very enjoyable stay for a couple days at Verlaska Farm in late August; I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Michelle was welcoming and friendly, and I would definitely stay again!

Heaven on Earth

I adored every moment spent on this stunning property, and even though I just left yesterday I miss it already. I felt so at home, and my friend who tagged along also loved it. I am already making plans to bring more friends to experience this incredible place! Michelle and Terry are such a delight and so fun to talk to. They taught my friend and I about the maple sugaring process and were so thoughtful and made this Vermont trip one for the books! Thank you Michelle and Terry! I’ll be seeing you soon

We had a very comfortable stay. Michelle and Terry were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful with everything. They made us feel at home from the moment we arrived and were always available whenever we needed anything. The place was clean, peaceful, and exactly as described. We truly appreciated all of their local recommendations and their hospitality. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again.
