Mad River Village
Mount Norris Boy Scout Camp is a beautiful spot, quiet and peaceful on a pretty lake, and Mad River was a lovely collection of cabins, with comfortable benches to gather around our campfire, cook, eat and be together for the magic of the total eclipse. We felt very lucky to have found this spot to have this special experience. Ranger Eric was incredibly helpful and warm, delivering our wood, and preparing our site so soon after a foot and a half snow, plowing to make it easy for us to drive up and park, find our fire pit, and stay warm in our cabins.

Comfortable stay!
It was a lovely stay, warm enough for winter camping with the right gear - warm sleeping bag and wool clothes. The Ranger was a great host and went out of his way to answer all our questions and thoroughly plowed all the roadways on the site. I look forward to staying here in the future.

Easy, No-fuss Car Camping!
Mount Norris Boyscout Camp was great for our family gathering. We stayed at Bromley, which was a large site with a fire pit and plenty of tent platforms and latrines nearby. Since it had just snowed, we did need to do some shoveling, but Ranger Eric kindly let us borrow one of their shovels in addition to our own. It’s nothing fancy, but just what we wanted and at the right price. Ranger Eric was very helpful and communicative, and we would definitely stay here again. It was nice that we could drive all the way up to the site, but we may not have made it if we didn’t have AWD because it was mud season. Bromley was right by the lake, and had a nice open field area next to it too.
