Free use of kayaks and a canoe on an undeveloped 18 acre lake is included when you camp here. Several miles of trails, dirt roads and streams wind through hundreds of acres which you are free to explore. The property has been owned by members of our family for 75 years or more with areas of it family-owned since the 1800's. A large portion of the property is dedicated to sustainable loblolly pine forests dating back to the 1980's. A significant area of the property is dedicated to native hardwood forest and has some of the oldest and largest white oak, poplar, elm and shortleaf pines in the upstate. The remainder of the property is pasture; home to Black Angus cattle. We look forward to sharing this unique property with you!

This site offers a one of a kind wilderness experience!  This is camping the way I personally enjoy it; Situated on over 300 acres of pine and hardwood forest, the property has over 1.5 miles of trails to explore by hiking or mountain biking and over one mile of creek frontage.  You may forget that you are in the Piedmont region as the beautiful rapids from two creeks and mountainous terrain with abundant mountain laurel will take your mind to the mountains.  This property is conveniently within 30 minutes of Greenville, Simpsonville and Anderson.  There is a large sandy bottomed portion of the creek adjacent to the camping area which is the perfect place to cool off on warm days.   I have participated with Hipcamp with several other listings for several years.  This particular camp site is brand new as of May 18, 2020 and there are limited reviews as a result.  Please see my other listings, Creekside Camp and Lakeside Camp in the Honea Path, South Carolina area and the reviews of those to get an idea of how our campers enjoy our wilderness experience.

Access to an 18 acre lake and use of a canoe and kayaks for fun and fishing is included. A guided tour with an educational discussion of forestry and animal husbandry practices can also be reserved. This camp site is primitive. Potable water is available within a reasonable distance. We hope to have a hot outdoor shower available in the near future.

  • Review summary

    Generated from real Hipcamper reviews

This campsite is a haven for those seeking a peaceful retreat with plenty of space and privacy. Guests consistently mention the beautiful lake views and the abundance of firewood, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere. However, some visitors noted the challenging access roads, suggesting that a sturdy vehicle might be necessary for a smooth arrival. Despite a few issues with communication and access, the host Alex is often praised for his accommodating nature and the thoughtful touches like kayak availability.

Loved it. Couple tricky spots if it rains or you have a long vehicle, but worth it.

We once again had a great time as this was our 5th time we've stayed at this site and this time we brought the whole family which was 9 people and 2 dogs and everyone loved it. This site is what camping should be and is very secluded and has plenty of space. You do have to walk down hill on a trail to the site which may be an issue for some people but we think it is worth it and is also good exercise. We bring a cart and dolly with off road wheels that makes it so much easier and keeps the trips to a minimum. The host Alex has always been great. We will definitely be back again. Definitely recommend this site to any camping lovers.
