Beautiful spot for a night or 2
A great place for a short stay. Really enjoyed the property, helpful friendly hosts, an awesome friendly Corgi that paid us some visits, and a nice quiet vibe.
We really enjoyed this specific spot given its seclusion, and the fact that it is at the top of the hill, so you have some nice views down the hill.
I would happily stay here again.

Great spot! Stunning views of big sky and rolling hills. Welcoming hosts who shared the history and practice on the farm and invited us to see and learn more. Good site, Easy access and set up with nice amenities. A welcome break from the crowded State Campground with camper noise all around. We’ll be back!!

I was on the fence about booking a stay here in the first place looking at the pictures but seeing all the other great reviews I took a chance. We were only going to be here one night and then wake up and hike at Silver Falls. Upon pulling up to the sight I thought it was a mistake. The site is directly in front of the hosts house with zero privacy. Not a mistake. It’s just a gravel drive right in front of the hosts home. No mention of that in the listing or on the reviews at all. There is no cover on any side of the site. The fire pit is a nice touch but you are sitting in the hosts front yard. On top of that we ran out of propane within 30 minutes. The views are very nice and it was quiet, but camping that close to someone’s house is not something I wpuld ever purposely do. If you must come here to see the horses and livestock that would may make it worth it. If you are after any semblance of privacy this is absolutely not your place.

Ruah Ranch was a beautiful space, especially if you like dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. It was bit chilly in my tent during the winter season so bring extra layers. Thank you Lee, Connie, and especially Sherry for jumping my car battery after I drained it. I got some much needed fresh air and sunshine. The folks in town were pleasant as well. 🙂

We’ve stayed here many times, always finding peace and quiet, scenic, pastoral views, and friendly hosts. Water and electric hook ups for RV are a good benefit here. Don’t hesitate to camp here if you’re out this way.

Nice folks, chatted for a bit about their race horses. Lee offered to help spot me backing in and help me get set up. Site was nice and peaceful, just make sure you have leveling blocks. O
h and a very friendly Corgi came for a visit a few times which was nice!

We loved our stay at Ruah Ranch. Was nice and quiet, we loved walking down the gravel road. Connie was great and answered any questions that we have! Her little dog Chloe is precious and has the unofficial title of camp host :) we would definitely stay here again. I look forward to staying in the spring or summer when the weather is even better!

Absolutely best place we have tried... If you are looking for beautiful scenery, close proximity to state park, awesome hosts, and amazing sunsets, this is your place! Chloe was a fantastic friend for us while we were there, and we are definitely going back!

What an amazing experience to see the sun rise and set from our perch above serene rolling hills. Having our friendly, curious neighbor Hennessy the race horse was an absolute treat. The hosts and staff (including honorary host sweet little corgi baby) were friendly and helpful and even offered us fresh eggs on our way out. The fireplace they offer guests had a spectacular view of the sunset. Which I hear is even better with a bit of clouds. We had glorious blue skies and the sunset was still phenomenal. Silver falls park was a short 15-20 min drive and just beyond was the town of Silverton. Such a cute/fun town and worth visiting. Highly recommend this as your place to reset after a day of hiking or a bit of shopping and snacking.

This was my second stay! This is just such a peaceful place, quiet, and beautiful. Country roads are great for my bike with some challenging hills and gorgeous sunsets. The horses are beautiful to watch and make for a great stay!

Love Ruah Ranch...
An absolutely beautiful property in a serene, quiet area. The sunsets were stunning, and the horses were beautiful. Connie and Lee were outstanding hosts. Very genuine, real people whose passion for their work is undeniable. The property offers nice amenities of power and water (RV) and access to a restroom and Keurig. Already booked another stay!

We were here for a quick in-and-out night, but we loved the peacefulness of it. Our 2 year old was super excited to see the horses in the morning and Connie was a wonderful host and teacher about the ranch.

We were extremely surprised to be staying at a Thoroughbred horse farm. Our hosts were very gracious sharing their knowledge of what it’s like to raise thoroughbreds. We had fresh eggs for breakfast thanks to their chickens and a safe and comfortable place to set up camp including a clean kitchen facility and bathroom with plumbing!

Connie and Lee are absolutely lovely people and made us feel very welcome at their ranch. Their family of animals, from the corgi and the cats to the beautiful horses were a joy. They even had fire pits and picnic tables for us to use. They’ve thought of everything. There is no light pollution where they are so the stars and the moon were spectacular!

We stay here somewhat regularly when traveling. It’s always peaceful, with sweeping views and beautiful horses. The hosts are friendly and will make sure you are comfortable. There are some adorable cats on the grounds as well. Site 2 is nicely set up for RV’s. We’ll be back.

Nice grassy spot to pitch your tent, with a picnic table and your own propane fireplace! Toilet and sink are in the barn mere feet away.
You get to sleep a few feet away from some very special horses that are fun to watch. Plus there are chickens and cats and the owner’s dog.
It is incredibly peaceful and quiet at the ranch.

Beautiful property, friendly hosts
Excellent communication overall especially with the directions. Super helpful when arriving and leaving the site. There was a wasp nest near our electrical box and they were quick to take care of it. Very friendly. And this property is beautiful. Wish we had more than 2 nights here.

Horse Heaven: Human Happiness
We spent two wonderful nights at Connie’s horse ranch near Sublimity. Easy to find, nestled in gorgeous hilly scenery… we were equally fascinated by the terrain and the working chores of the ranch hands taking care of 30 horses in different paddocks.
Friendly staff, but left us alone too.
We parked our van (one of three spots) near the horses n barn, with two friendly kitties and the bathroom nearby.
Day activities: nine-hole golf and hiking in the gorgeous Silver Falls State Park.

Okay place with some caveats
The plusses: the horses are beautiful, the cats and dog are friendly, the chickens are cute and layed fantastic eggs. We saw some beautiful sunsets and the weather was great. Our hosts were nice, friendly and helpful.
The minuses: the campsite was right next to the barn and the horse pastures and there was a really bad fly problem. The kitchen and toilet are part of the barn, and are very cluttered and not very clean. The water pressure at the faucet was so low that it took considerable time to fill anything.
Overall, not a bad place, but I don't plan to go back.
