The River Ranch Hipcamp was wonderful! Lots and lots of room to choose a site. We ended up being the only ones there and so nice for our dogs just to be able to wonder around. Turkeys, the river and surrounding area were just gorgeous!

It appeared to be better than it was. Looking for a place to fish. Access was poor. Water Conditions high but very limited access. Had to set up on gravel. Hard to find a level spot. Couldn't set up near river, my rv would have sunk up to the axle. It appears dispersed camping in summer. It looks like it wouldn't be very private. Oregon state campgrounds much better value and experience.

Lovely campsite/campground. Cat was very inviting. Honestly, cleanest portapotty I have ever been in. Access to river was great and our girls loved it. Camp sites well spaced and level ground. We would definitely revisit. Thank you!!

We camped at River Ranch for my Birthday. It was a perfect Birthday! The river was beautiful, it so much fun to swim and relax by. I loved how private it felt. Campsites are open and clean . Cat was a wonderful host. I would definitely recommend her lovely land along the North Umpqua to camp at!

Very quiet and peaceful. Seen wildlife which I truly enjoy. Short walk to the river, unfortunately no place to put a chair to relax by the water, but that's ok. There was 1 other campsite that people stayed at, otherwise there was no one there which made it perfect for us. The porta potty is clean with hand sanitizer for your use. Definitely will stay here again.

We arrived in the RV around 3pm, wound our way to an area that looked level and would accommodate both our tent and the RV. We had some shade fut the weather was lovely. We pitched the tent, leveled the RV and pulled out the tackle to go fishing! And fish we did! We didn't catch anything larger than a sardine but, hey!! That takes talent! The teen boys took their inflatable kayaks out and paddled around, fished in several sites on both sides of the river and the adults had trouble getting them to come in for dinner. The evening was full of night sounds from crickets to frogs to night birds. For us it was a nice change from the routine. The port-a-pots were clean, well lit with solar lites, and they didn't smell. The turkeys wandered thru the camp site and we saw deer. The blackberries are delish this time of year and we enjoyed snacking on them. All in all, we had a great stay and would recommend to friends and family. This site is in Southern Oregon where it is more pine and scrub oak than fir. This was a nice mix of boon docking and lightly improved camping.

ITS A GREAT PLACE TO CAMP

Easier to find than anticipated. A quiet beautiful area above a Gorgeous river that is a short walk away. As you walk down to the river you pass all of these blackberry bushes & if at the right time of the year, I guarantee it’s the best blackberries you’ll ever eat. Lots of wild turkeys & deer about. Very Quiet & the campground is clean. It only has Porta potty’s but those were also as clean as I’ve ever seen. If I’m headed near there again, that’s where I’m camping.. Should mention that “Kat” stopped by for a few minutes just to ensure all was ok. Well, it wasn’t ok, it was great.

1- unsafe pulling into the locked gate. The rv was still on main road.
2- no way to get to the river. Blackberrie brush covered the banks.
3- A machine ran all night, but not during the day.
4- This is why I would not recommend this place to any of our friends. We are all retired camping friends and I was looking for a place in Roseburg to have a big group camp out, but this will not work.

Great spot with private water access! Can’t park or camp right on the river but it was easy walk down the embankment. We will be back for sure.

Quiet, clean shady

Really nice spot with lots of shade and river sounds. Quiet with clean Porta johns. Everything was neat and clean and Cat pipped in to chat after i arrived.
My only concern was no cell coverage. As a woman who travels alone it's important for me to have coverage. I would've liked to have known that before booking.

We enjoyed camping here. Even though there were several other campers it was quiet and private. The river was beautiful, picturesque and refreshing. Everything was well maintained and even the ports potties were immaculate. We would definitely stay here again.

My family takes an annual camping trip at a different spot every summer. After our trip this week at River Ranch Campground we all have decided that THIS will be our annual spot. From horse shoes and kubb, to floating the river to late night star gazing we all had a blast. Cathryn was extremely friendly and checked on us daily. Very clean blue rooms and the camping areas spaced out gave us plenty of room and space for our 4 blue heelers to play and roam. Definitely a 10/10 spot.

We loved our visit to Sarah’s river oasis! Easy to find, within 10 minutes of I-5, safe and secure, and many spread out sites to choose from. My dog was in heaven with the wide and shallow river access. A great option for a quick overnight or longer stay.

We really enjoyed camping on Cathryn's property! Even though there were several other groups there, we never saw or heard them. Very private! Beautiful river with a great swimming hole. We'll be back!

Beautiful, easy to access and well kept camp sites just a short jaunt off the 5. Felt safe and secure in the padlocked gate accessed via code from the host. Porto potty’s were clean. Wish I could have spent more there sitting along river!

We loved camping at Cathryn’s place in the meadows. Directions were clear and the place was easy to find. There were deers welcoming us at night and a family of turkeys in the morning waking us up.
The porter patty’s were clean .

We loved our stay at Cat’s hip camp. We were the only campers there and enjoyed the quiet and solitude. The property is very beautiful, clean, safe, and has a lot of privacy. My favorite part was the lovely swimming hole. I swam for a couple hours each day with my dog, looking for cool rocks and agates. Even saw a bald eagle. We will definitely come back.

The sites are flat, quiet, beautiful and beautifully maintained.. We chose one right across from the river and enjoyed listening to the water moving downstream. There is abundant wildlife on the ground, in the sky and under the water.

My son and I had a great time playing at the river. The camping area was clean and had good level “sites.” It’s choose-your-own for the most part, so early arrivals get closer to the River or you can go further up to be more on your own. Porta’s are clean and well lit.

Our family just got home from an amazing camping trip to Ms. Cat’s awesome little hideaway. Cat came around and checked on us to make sure we were settled and didn’t need anything. Our son enjoyed petting River the puppy. The first night we shared the campground with a few other families but you hardly knew they were there. The campground was all strategically spaced and spread out so you felt like you had a lot of privacy. We moved our site the second day we were there due to the heat and lack shade for our little guy. Second spot was awesome!! ( the last spot under the big trees) We had shade most of the day and with our popup we were completely shaded. We could hear the river all day and night.
The local turkeys strutting around and roosting right next to us was amazing. The bald eagles nesting nearby was a treat especially when they swooped down to catch a fish. What an experience. The river was very inviting and the fishing was pretty good. We enjoyed basically having the place to ourselves. Thank you Ms. Cat. Thanks you for having us and hope to come back soon.

It’s all about the River…

We took our travel trailer to Cat’s property. The directions she gave were exact. We enjoyed surveying the area for a spot that suited our needs. Very counterintuitive when you’re used to being assigned a site in a campground. We saw turkey families, deer, and bald eagles. It was the hottest weekend of the year so we spent most of the days floating in the river. Cat checked on us to answer any questions.

Sweet spot! Directions were simple and I was so grateful to have a place to walk around with my dog and jump in the river and gather berries for breakfast. I will bookmark the spot for sure!
