Sitting between the well-known Mt.Pisgah and Cold Mountain, we offer mountain top to river bottom, and everything in between! Camp Cruso is a free-range farm with a mile of the East Fork Pigeon River and private creeks running through. Spaces available for camping, cooking, swimming, tubing, fishing, hiking, animal loving and all-around enjoyment. We are located just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Rocky Face Tavern at Springdale Golf Course, and are positioned right off Cruso Rd (Hwy276) - a Motorcycle Favorite. Our rustic sawmill cabin is designed more for convenience than luxury — the perfect little basecamp for campers who want access to indoor essentials while still enjoying the outdoors. 🌲🪵 The cabin includes a futon for resting, a full bathroom with hot shower, washer & dryer access, and a simple full kitchen with the basics needed to cook a meal, store food, or make coffee before heading back out to explore. This is not a fancy glamping cabin or luxury stay — think functional, cozy, and practical. A comfortable spot to recharge, clean up, escape the weather, do a load of laundry, or take a break from tent or RV life during your mountain adventure. The cabin carries the charm of the property itself: rustic, relaxed, and surrounded by the sights and sounds of real farm life. 🐓🌄Drift off to the sound of water, wake to mist and birdsong, and spend your days fishing, swimming, hiking, or doing absolutely nothing at all.

Mountain Pasture Boondocking

This is such a beautiful location and amazing experience with the family! The mini donkies, Highland bull, and pigs are all so friendly. Tasha and Ben’s hospitality really made the experience phenomenal! We will be coming back often 💕

Mountain Pasture Boondocking

Tasha and Ben were great hosts. They liked my cooking. They have a great setup and sell fresh, free range eggs. If you’re lucky , they may even have fresh honey. Yes, it was a cow pasture and there were some cow pies in the field, but what do you expect in a cow pasture? They are easy enough to step around. We were surrounded by beautiful mountains and it was very quiet. The neighbor, Sue, was very friendly and talkative. We would go back.

Rustic Riverside Campsite

Amazing space with the most friendly sweet hospitable people. I came with a buddy and our daughters (6 and 8) and his dog. Tasha and Ben were amazing and were more than happy to show us their farm and animals which the girls loved. They also set us up super proper! Made sure us and the girls has everything we needed and lets us explore as we wanted from there! We will be coming back!

Mountain Pasture Boondocking

Tasha is an amazing host and was very communicative and clear with all of the details we needed to know! The property was easy to find, BEAUTIFUL, and overall one of the best hipcamps I’ve stayed at. So so happy to have found this on the map and been able to stay here! The animals are so sweet and are happy to say hello if you want, but were in their own pasture section if you for some reason don’t want to meet them :) We closed the gate behind us and let my dog run around within the fenced in pasture where we were parked, and she loved it.
