We loved tent camping at this site. The wood was well stocked and the water provided was so helpful. The toilets are clean and the mornings are peaceful by the river. This location is so close to nearby wineries and breweries. We are looking forward to going back!

The host was pleasant and met us upon checking in. She made sure we knew that our dogs were to be haltered at all times. However, during our stay, the site host's dog came running through our camp, heading to our close neighbor's dog, and it was not on a leash at all.
We booked this site because of the description of being "secluded", which was not so that we could have privacy and room for our dogs. The yurt was very cool and the scenery was very pretty. My only complaint is that is was not as secluded or quiet as the posting would lead you to believe.

This was a lovely spot! Very peaceful and quiet. The site is exactly as pictured. We had a great fire and kayaked with the on-site company the next morning. The hosts were very accommodating.

The host is very communicative and friendly! The site is beautiful! However, it was not as private as we had hoped. The kayak/canoe area was right by the campsite, and the staff were frequently coming in and out to prepare them. There was also a wedding across the street, and the music was very loud. In addition, we kept being woken up because of the loud trains passing by.

Very clean and private camping area. Grass was freshly mowed when we arrived and plenty of fresh water and fire wood were supplied and ready. Large trash barrel and porta-potty are along the roadside nearby. There’s a fire ring and a large picnic table for meal preparation. Road nearest to the site dead ends so there’s very little outside traffic. Hosts are very friendly and checked up on us daily. We had 2 tents but there was ample room for probably 4-6 more. Glamping sites are close by but there’s still plenty of privacy. Will definitely be returning next season!!

Such a fun time! Water and firewood were provided. Perfect getaway from the city. It was so peaceful to sleep by the river and look at the stars!!

The space is HUGE and great for groups. You have plenty of space from the neighbors, so you’re not on top of each other, despite the semi open field. The porta John’s were clean upon our arrival and did not smell whatsoever. The added 5 gallons of water and firewood included was an added bonus! The site is just off the riverbed which is so nice for water activities. We took tubes and floated while connected to a tree. Dogs loved it as well. The staff was SO kind and extra kind to our dogs! 5/5 stars! Would visit again!

The staff were so kind and accommodating! We appreciated that they provided water and firewood and offered us info about the area. And we enjoyed the spacious grassy site, perfect for a game of whiffleball. We also loved being able to walk from the campsite along the river. And the beaches close by were great! Highly recommend this area.

the depot site had everything we needed and more. there was firewood for us already, potable water, a bbq, air mattress with blankets and even a dog bed. would recommend for anyone looking to glamp!

Rustic Group Campsite
Great hosts, super accomodating. Had split firewood and a large jug of water ready for us. Very cool setting along the river, tons of room in the group site and situated far from other sites. The area can be a little noisy at night, there is a semi-active rail line that passes by and train horns may wake you up but no complaints otherwise.

This is a very beautiful place. The cottage itself is quite rustic, not terribly clean, and a bit strange. This would all be fine because the riverside is so gorgeous. However I just don’t think it’s worth the price we paid once it was all said and done.

This place is absolutely beautiful! Very serene environment! And you’ve got plenty of firewood to burn, plenty of space to spread out, and the bathrooms are always clean! Plus, super convenient kayak and canoe rentals right on the property! Definitely want to come back again!

I had the best vacation here! Everything is set up here, and you don’t really need to bring anything. Julie made us feel like we were at home and took care of us when we needed a ride to get up the river. The only things I RECOMMEND is BRINGING REALLY GOOD MOSQUITOES REPELLENT b/c they feast in the morning and right when the sun goes down and it’s so itchyyyy! You should definitely go on the River trip and bring some fishing gear because you will catch a lot of fishes and it is so beautiful and fun to see everything. 10/10 experienceI will come back soon.

We will definitely be returning to riverside retreat!! This made our short camping trip so easy, with wood, charcoal, water and cooking utensils provided w the grill. The grounds are beautiful with a view of the river. The kayaking trip was a great way to explore pure Michigan. We <3 Bella the dog

Removed from city influences like Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Rustic but beautiful, everything needed, pots pans, charcoal grill and charcoal and fire pit. Beautiful location. Nice management.

Best camping experience ever! A beautiful spot with great accommodations. You can really tell Julie takes great care of the property, tent, and bathrooms. Plenty of firewood and water. Everyone there was so friendly too. I think we found our go to annual spot!

Nice secluded site. Great place to relax. Only drawback was the noise of the trimmer and mower one afternoon we were there. Understand the need to mow but it detracted from the peace.
