Our campsite, conveniently located right off the highway, serves as your gateway to the majestic wilderness that surrounds Lake Bliss. Spanning across 92 acres, our property invites you to embark on an adventure through diverse landscapes that include forests, tranquil lakeshores, and breathtaking vistas. Lake Bliss itself offers a peaceful respite and a chance to reconnect with nature. For those seeking thrills, the trail around Lake Bliss connects to two major trail networks—the Maasto Hiihto and Churning Rapids—offering miles of exhilarating mountain biking and hiking trails. Lake Bliss also offers excellent bird watching! Elevate your experience by trekking to the Skyway Trail, situated atop a 250-foot ridge directly above the campsite. Facing directly west, the campsite offers front-row seats to captivating sunsets over the glistening waters of the Portage Canal. And if luck is on your side, the Northern Lights might dance across the sky, accompanied by the magical glow of fireflies, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Bliss Shores is designed for those who truly appreciate the raw beauty of nature. This primitive camping site encourages a minimalistic approach, asking guests to leave no trace and to embrace the simplicity of outdoor living. You must have your own toilet. The untouched grass underfoot and the need for four-wheel drive access underscore the site's untouched beauty, offering an authentic wilderness experience. Despite its secluded feel, Bliss Shores is just a stone's throw from urban convenience, being merely minutes from downtown Hancock and Houghton. It serves as the perfect base camp for exploring the wider Keweenaw Peninsula—from the rugged landscapes of Copper Harbor and the Porcupine Mountains to the soothing Nordic spa at Mount Bohemia and the enchanting Hungarian Falls. Bliss Shores Campsite is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience, a journey, and a testament to the beauty of the Copper Island.
