Cabin · Sleeps 10
This is a beautiful woods that contains a small cabin. It’s not about the cabin. It’s about the woods & the campsite. Completely back to nature🌳🌳, yes, it’s primitive. It’s camping, but private, peaceful and beautiful. If you want to really social distance. Enjoy nature and have time to yourselves. The Mirror Lake primitive river cabin “little elk” is for you. You will drive a 1- 1/2 mile trail to your cabin. If you are arriving in the evening, it will be dark. There you will find your 12 x 14 log cabin that has two futons that convert two beds. A small antique table, cabinet and two chairs. There are two white welcoming rockers on the covered porch that faces the channel to the river. And we have a NEW green metal roof. You have your own 15 acre woods, small cabin & campsite with firewood provided. There are multiple trails in the woods for walking, horseback riding,🏇🏼 & or biking.🚴‍♀️ You may see us ride by on our horses or on our gator. I cannot control the level of the river or the amount of rainfall 🌧️ we may get but… When water levels are adequate kayaking,🛶canoeing or fishing🎣 can be enjoyed on the little Elkhart River. We put in at the channel when water levels are higher. When water levels are lower, we have direct access into the Little Elkhart river further to the east of the cabin. Canoes and kayaks can be rented contact Kathy. Enjoy time completely off the grid. Not around a campground filled with campers. This is where you could truly see👀 and hear the wildlife all around you. Birdwatching, maybe see a deer or look at the stars..✨ But if the weather isn’t on your side💧⛈️. There is a nice restaurant 2 miles from here called Backroads Tavern. Within 4 miles you can find a restaurant called Coody Brown’s. Both have outdoor seating. 4 miles down Northport Road. You will find a nicer establishment called Sylvan Cellars. Many times they have entertainment on Thursdays, Fridays, and . Along with the patio and outdoor seating. If you don’t want to cook breakfast over the open fire, there’s a restaurant called Sylvan Shores diner in Rome city. The cabin is priced for four people. Six more are welcomed at $10 each daily. This is camping you will need to bring your own bedding, pillows, toiletries, toilet paper, lanterns, water, bug spray, lawn chairs, etc. There is also a park 2 miles away with a public beach. It is called Dallas Lake Park. I do believe there is a cost to enter.

This is a beautiful woods 🌳 that contains a small cabin. It's not about the cabin. It's about the 12 acre woods & with 1 campsite with the pier on Mirror lake. Completely back to nature and off the grid yes, it's primitive. It's camping, but private, peaceful and beautiful. It’s not filled with campers and people. Enjoy seeing, and hearing the sounds of nature.🦉🐦‍⬛🐸 this is a place for you. Cabin number 2 we call “Old Phil”. It has a different vibe than our other cabin “little elk”. The path to your cabin is only about 1 mile long which you can drive in your vehicle. You can see our house and buildings when the leaves are not on. But when the trees are in full bloom, it’s barely in view. If you arrive in the evening, it will be dark! The 10x12 primitive cabin comes with a queen size bed on bottom and a twin on top, small table and 2 chairs. With 2 windows and both doors open and can be locked. Many pitch tents and use the cabin as base camp. outside there is a picnic table, fire grate, fire ring, chairs, wood bench and all firewood provided along with an outhouse for the bathroom. Again this is primitive No running water or electricity. A great campsite for a real experience in camping. There is a pier for fishing (Fishing license, not required for this private lake) or swimming. BUT you swim at your own risk - there are NO LIFEGUARDS!! Any water crafts that you may bring you NEED a life jacket with you at all times!! Yes you will hear dogs barking from time to time. They’re not coyotes… but you probably won’t hear many sirens or trains. If the weather does not work out for a campfire. There is a restaurant just 2 miles away called Backroads Tavern. 4 miles away is a restaurant called Coody Browns. Both restaurants have outdoor seating. A little nicer place is 4 miles east of here on Northport Road. They too have outdoor seating and Thursday, Friday and Saturday normally have live entertainment. If you’re not in the mood for cooking breakfast over open fire, there is a breakfast restaurant in Rome city called Sylvan Shores diner. This is camping you will need to bring your own bedding, pillows, toiletries, toilet paper, water, lanterns, bug spray, lawn chairs, etc. There is also a very nice park with swingset and public beach 2 miles away. It’s called Dallas Lake Beach. I do think there is a cost to enter.

Kathy's campsite offers a secluded escape with beautiful natural surroundings, perfect for those looking to unwind in peace. The rustic cabins and abundance of wildlife enhance the experience, though some guests noted maintenance issues like a dilapidated roof and dirty outdoor furniture. Many appreciated the easy access to firewood and the opportunity to enjoy fishing and kayaking, albeit with some challenges due to water levels. Overall, campers found the spot to be a tranquil retreat with a few areas needing improvement.
