Mirror Lake # 1 Cabin Little Elk
Cabin · Sleeps 10This is a beautiful woods that contains a small cabin. It’s not about the cabin. It’s about the woods & the campsite. Completely back to nature🌳🌳, yes, it’s primitive. It’s camping, but private, peaceful and beautiful. If you want to really social distance. Enjoy nature and have time to yourselves.
The Mirror Lake primitive river cabin “little elk” is for you. You will drive a 1- 1/2 mile trail to your cabin. If you are arriving in the evening, it will be dark. There you will find your 12 x 14 log cabin that has two futons that convert two beds. A small antique table, cabinet and two chairs. There are two white welcoming rockers on the covered porch that faces the channel to the river. And we have a NEW green metal roof. You have your own 15 acre woods, small cabin & campsite with firewood provided. There are multiple trails in the woods for walking, horseback riding,🏇🏼 & or biking.🚴♀️ You may see us ride by on our horses or on our gator.
I cannot control the level of the river or the amount of rainfall 🌧️ we may get but… When water levels are adequate kayaking,🛶canoeing or fishing🎣 can be enjoyed on the little Elkhart River. We put in at the channel when water levels are higher. When water levels are lower, we have direct access into the Little Elkhart river further to the east of the cabin. Canoes and kayaks can be rented contact Kathy.
Enjoy time completely off the grid. Not around a campground filled with campers. This is where you could truly see👀 and hear the wildlife all around you. Birdwatching, maybe see a deer or look at the stars..✨
But if the weather isn’t on your side💧⛈️. There is a nice restaurant 2 miles from here called Backroads Tavern. Within 4 miles you can find a restaurant called Coody Brown’s. Both have outdoor seating. 4 miles down Northport Road. You will find a nicer establishment called Sylvan Cellars. Many times they have entertainment on Thursdays, Fridays, and . Along with the patio and outdoor seating. If you don’t want to cook breakfast over the open fire, there’s a restaurant called Sylvan Shores diner in Rome city.
The cabin is priced for four people. Six more are welcomed at $10 each daily.
This is camping you will need to bring your own bedding, pillows, toiletries, toilet paper, lanterns, water, bug spray, lawn chairs, etc.
There is also a park 2 miles away with a public beach. It is called Dallas Lake Park. I do believe there is a cost to enter.
