This was such a welcomed breathe of fresh air on our cross-country trip. It was a very short stay, got in late and left early, but we would absolutely come back. Cynthia was extremely accommodating of our same day booking and arrival as our plans had changed, and we are saddened we didn't get to meet her or Chad. However, we DID get to have her homemade goodies in the burger basket and bread and sand plum jelly, and everything was so good! Our pup loved exploring a bit and stretching our legs on the beautifully manicured trails. We loved the cottontail visitors we had at our site, too. After flat flat flat for a looooong while, we were shocked at this hidden geographical gem. The limestone walls around the property were beautiful and we wish we would've had more time here! Don't let the 14 miles off the highway deter you if you're staying here while on the road, it is so worth it. We also learned that even with a completely clear forecast, Kansas can surprise you at 5 am with severe thunderstorms, in case you aren't prepared for that 😂 All in all, this short stay was beautiful and we can't say enough good things about the hosts - fresh burgers, baked goods and firewood at our campsite with super clear directions and communication is not the norm and they have really created something special here!
