A small but unique piece of land that was given to a family in the 1920s by the Florida Railroad Company. It stayed in the family until we purchased it. It is unique because the surrounding area does not have much tree coverage. This is due to the ground underneath, which is a vein of grey marl. This is why the area is called the Allapattah (an Indian word for Alligator) Flats. We are hoping that our county stays the way it is so people will know what Old Florida really looks like. Minutes from I-95, but surrounded by the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Preserve. Located on Martin Hwy, which was recently designated as a Florida Scenic Hwy. Fifteen minutes to Stuart and thirty minutes to West Palm Beach, a world away from the hustle and bustle. We realize that people also love Florida for Disney and tropical paradises but if that is what you want then this may not be your kind of place. Depending on the season and availability we may have local honey and/or firewood available for purchase.

This is no joke real camping. Dont let being on someones property fool you. There is miles of land all around behind the gates of the property with real dangers if you google it. But they do have barbed wire on the fence so that helps. There was all types of sounds at night, cows, a hog, gator babies, what seemed to be a panther or bobcat but didnt see it. # daytime: eagles, Osprey, huge vultures. we were there alone ,no other campers, it was scary at night lol but it has the barn and the people live there so you are not completely unsafe. We had a gator pass the tent at 4am but just kept going, one sneaky raccoon, saw some possums. Kept honking my car alarm lol bring bright flashlights and protection ,it gets super dark no joke. Do not leave food out or car window open ,#7 secluded. If you never been camping in real nature this will definitely vet you. Beautiful place, felt safe even though you are on their property they give you your privacy. Extremely nice host. Horses are a little nibbly but all in all, awesome experience. Fridge is a plus, shower is nice and warm, port o potty was clean and stocked. Bugs are no joke, yellow jackets, spiders, etc ,but not that bad if you are a true camper. Cicadas pee nectar at night, i didnt put the cover on my tent they peed alot lol so yeah but they get quiet at night. Its nature, real deal florida. We loved it. But again. No joke real deal camping. Earn your stripes here. Bring protection.

"Great Getaway"

This was my third time camping at Christine & Cal's. I was a bit skeptical booking for this time of year but my four nights there could not have been more perfect. Perhaps it was just luck but very few bugs and relatively cool nights. I was fortunate enough to have a pair of visiting cardinals everyday which is seen as a positive sign. Although you can hear some road noise from the highway the peacefulness and beauty here tend to block it out. Thank you Christine & Cal see you in the fall.

I live locally so this is my favorite place to unwind, relax and chill. I nestle my no build mini van amongst the beautiful and funky old oaks. Enjoying the quiet breeze my little dog gives out a slow growl as a miniature horse pokes it's head in the open slider door and then another in the open hatch. They mozeyed on their way after I gave them an apple. I enjoyed another beautiful sunset and a quiet morning coffee at camp before heading back to the coast.

Nice spot perfect location to the interstate. Just outside of town. Pretty easy to find. Property is definitely unique and has some great animal sounds at night to sleep to. We'll be back.

overall the stay was okay, you get what you pay for really. we pulled in and the host just kinda glared at us as we drove to the site. the site came with a lawn chair and a fire pit you aren’t allowed to use. you’re directly in this persons back yard, right off a busy highway where you can hear cars going by at all hours and you’re so close to other sites you can hear their conversations.

We enjoyed this space. It's beautiful and located near places we wanted to visit. The kids really loved interacting with the miniature horses. The outdoor shower was really cool and possibly my favorite part. It is near a highway but it was pretty quiet at night with many visible stars.

Beautiful property, nice spots for tent camping. We were the only campers out there. Extra quiet. Made for exactly what I needed. I even dragged my son along to get away from the screen for a few days. 😅 Clean property and camp sites. Outdoor shower, potable water, fridge if we needed it and bathroom portables all close to where you camp.

An absolutely beautiful and serene place up relax and enjoy being in nature. We didn't want to leave. The miniature horses were very friendly, I think they like potato chips, but I didn't feed them. L Dragon flies flittered about for hours. The site is level with short grass, which was perfect with my car/tent setup. Cal greeted me promptly - very friendly. A very clean porta-potty was all maintained and convenient. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy nature, this spot is lovely. Thank you for a lovely weekend!

The camping sites were fine. The grounds were very clean. The hosts (Christine and Cal) were great! If you needed something or had a question they were always available and responsive. The whole atmosphere of the campground was unbelievable. We will be staying here again next time we're down!

This is by far one of the peaceful sites that I’ve seen me and my wife was very surprised when it said about road noise it was very minimal. The horses were very friendly, my wife and I’ve got beautiful pictures together and it was very dog friendly..

Basically some lawn in the owners back yard, right next to her house, close to a busy road. RV area is grass next to a porta potty storage area where about 100 portabpottys sit. Shower area is gross.

It’s hard to call this pretty property a camp. I drove in from the west along the scenic florida route tunneled in trees. Then the camp itself is beautifully shaded in trees as well. The covered outdoor hot shower gives you a great view. The sites themselves are along a circle and give enough space for privacy. It’s porta potties for toilets, which I found to be very clean. It is a very quiet area despite a bit of road noise you will hear. They are about 20 mins to town and the beach. I would definitely return.
