Tips for Snagging a Campsite Reservation
- Reservations can be made at the Florida State Parks website or by phone.
- As this is a very popular park, booking in advance is recommended and can be done up to 11 months in advance. Florida State Park campsites are almost always in high demand, so move quickly, especially in summer.
- If you can’t secure your preferred dates, keep checking. Spots sometimes open up as others’ plans change.
When to Go
Summer is peak season, and, while this is the best time to visit due to the warm water, it gets very busy. If planning a summer visit, try to make reservations as far in advance as possible. Otherwise, opting for spring or fall promises more availability and fewer crowds. You’ll enjoy sunny weather almost any time of year—temperatures typically run in the 80s in summer and in the 50s and 60s in winter.
Know Before You Go
- Summertime brings long entry lines during peak hours, from 10am to 3pm. When the park reaches maximum capacity, it briefly closes and reopens when sufficient space is available.
- An all-terrain beach wheelchair is available.
- All pets must be on a six-foot leash and continuously attended. Pets are not allowed on the beach, boardwalks, playground, or in any buildings.
