This valley area was the home of Wellknown Buffalo, a medicine woman and activist who protected and fed Native families traveling along the river between reservations. Learn more about this historic land: You'll pitch your tent on the Crow Indian Reservation in the historic valley just below the site of the Battle of the Little Big Horn. This is a working cattle ranch, owned by our family for 4 generations. It’s located on clear creek and a historical route used to trail cattle to the nearby railroad to load on the trains. Learn more about this land: We are located near Leiter, Wy 82837 please search this and notice we are remotely located, not close to town. There are multiple spots to pick for pitching a tent. Decide if you’d like to camp on the banks of clear creek or on a top of a hill with a view. If you’re pulling a camper or driving an RV there are 2 easily accessible locations with access to power. Locations are near Clear Creek so you can enjoy playing in the water or take a hike through a pasture. There is a cafe and bar just 4 miles up the road. They also offer shower and laundry services. We are a real working cattle ranch and there is local wildlife to view. Cute lil cabin. Given it's on a working ranch, I thought it'd be a bit cleaner - lots of dead moths inside. Land and sunset were gorgeous. the owners were super nice and the homemade lemon Greek yogurt and beef jerky were absolutely delicious.

What an amazing opportunity to be lost in the grasslands of Wyoming, with not a soul insight other than horses, prairie dogs, antelope and deer. Hiked up the hill in the morning and surprised two doe and two bucks who stared at me from fifteen feet until they hopped off. Water and electricity as advertised with nice flat spot for camper. A short ride into Sheridan which has a wonderful Main Street, and looking out at the Big Horn Mts as the sun sets. Couldn’t ask for more. Host very responsive to any questions!

Just a short distance from the battlefield itself, the campsite is located where more than 2,000 Cheyenne once camped, and where women, children, and elders remained during the historic battle. Staying here offers a rare opportunity to connect with the land and its sacred history. While the site is close to I-90 and the railroad, you won’t find a camping experience this close to the battlefield—and with this much historical significance—anywhere else.

Such a cute place! Lisa put a lot of love and effort into it. The shower and bathroom is new and just a short walk 30 sec walk from the cabin. The sounds of cows and nature was really beautiful at night. There is a train that runs several times in the night, earplugs might be helpful for those that are not used to trains. I only stayed one night but Lisa was very accommodating.

Peggy and Mila were so welcoming and generous during our stay. The experience with them at their camp as they set up for Crow Fair was truly a once in a life time experience! The tipi was great and we really enjoyed learning about the history and culture of the Crow from the stories everyone shared. They went above and beyond in accommodating us and we would love to come back to stay anywhere with Peggy and Mila again!
