Our yurt sits on the edge of a wild woods on the banks of the Cloquet River overlooking a meadow that is an active forest restoration project currently in process. From your door, you can access a loop of trails that wind through the woods, to the river and back to the yurt. Get back to basics. There is no electricity or running water in the yurt. Camp lanterns and solar lights are provided as is refillable fresh water and a propane camp stove/oven with pots/pans/utensils. The yurt is heated solely by a wood stove and there is plenty of firewood a short distance away with a sled or wagon to use for hauling. Spot was a little smaller than initially expected but, made it work with my 30' TT. Jared was very sweet, communicative & accommodating. Even discussed winter options & it was nice to know I had them. Occasionally heard a car or two go by & once in a while, you can hear the train, otherwise very tranquil & peaceful. Driveway could use some leveling but my Pontiac took the punishment like a champ. Spot was level enough that I didn't need to do anything to level my camper. Would recommend.

It was seriously one of the best experiences ever. The owners were so kind and went above and beyond to let our two boys interact with the animals. Camping was their birthday present and they said it was the best trip they ever had. The animals were so fun, and hiking is super close by. We definitely want to return.

Weekend Trip to Homestead Hideaway

We didn't want to leave. I took my six year old son camping there. We were both a bit sad when it was time to go home. It was quiet and peaceful. We laid in the hammock watching the stars late into the night. We picked a couple apples from their apple trees. We explored the trails. We pet the horses and rabbits. We got some fresh eggs from the barn. We loved the old rustic barn. My son and I both enjoyed the privacy of being the only tent campers there. A tent is waiting for you, but you can use your own tent if you want. A fire ring has an adjustable cooking grate that you can use. Some cut logs surround the fire pit that you can sit on. Plenty of firewood available stacked close to the fire pit. It was a time I will cherish and never forget. The owners were welcoming and friendly. I'm so glad that Jay Cooke campground was sold out and didn't have any spots available. I am new to Hipcamp and can't wait to explore more cool places they offer.

Weekend Trip to Turbera Vista

Turbera Vista Campsite is a peaceful and scenic spot perfect for stargazers and outdoor enthusiasts. We were able to back in our small coupe and set up our tent fairly quick, there was plenty of firewood and the stargazing was amazing, great getaway from the city! David provided us with detailed info of the site and amenities which were basic but thats all we needed! and directions in case we got lost, would definetely return in the near future!

Amber has been working so hard to make this such a beautiful spot! The amenities are out of this world and not what I’m used to! We unfortunately did not get to meet but I would have loved to have learned her story. She was always quick to communicate. This place was quiet, serene, and beautiful. The hike to the river was so perfect in the night time, the bridges were well lit. And let me tell you about those stars…..the Milky Way was in perfect viewing all night. I’m hoping to make it back someday soon!

This place was great for an overnight stay. I enjoyed the fire and the deepwoods experience. It is a few mins from a main road so not much traffic. I could hear the waterfowl on the nearby lake and would occasionally hear some of the neighbors dogs off in the distance. The land looked very lumpy on first inspection, but I found a place for my tent without a problem. There was extra firewood for purchase on site and plenty of deadwood you can pick up (not cut). I stayed in mid Oct. so the mosquitoes weren't bad. Follow the gps coordinates to a great no-thrills camp in the deep woods.

We loved the open space and privacy that we don’t get at state parks. I don’t think I’ve seen my youngest dog so content with being out camping and running around the woods. The amenities were fantastic. There are kayaks to use; didn’t use them but it’s a good option. Nice river view with a fire pit, could use a fire wood stack by the river otherwise you have to haul it. Plenty of tent spots . Electric spots are a little bit too close together for my tastes; but we had the sites to ourselves. Loved the kitchen and showers. 10/10 🌟 Will definitely come again.

Host very responsive and easy to deal with..her partner opened for us and very nice guy. A nice and spacious campsite! It was great going there and having the leaves fall! It definitely made our group love fall even more. We definitely would come back again, and again! Tons of firewood to keep you warm, you do have to purchase the bundles, otherwise, lots of fallen wood that you can use!

We loved staying in this camper! The bathroom and kitchen were both really nice and everything worked great. The main bed has a mattress topper and was very comfortable. We also really enjoyed waking up and visiting some of the animals. The hosts were very welcoming and attentive. We will be coming back!
