Previously a 100 acre century farm, this fertile land was tended to by generations of old time farmers. Their dairy cows pastured in areas which we now graze sheep. The restored quarry provided gravel for the nearby highway restoration and local projects.The property is currently a mix of hay ground, cropland, pasture, forest, and quarry. Twin sisters, Darla and Kayla, and their families live across the road from each other and own the surrounding 140 acres. They keep busy planting/tending trees, making hay, moving fence for grazing animals, operating a farm business called Twin Folk Farms (pastured meat, camps, etc), and raising their families.Learn more about this land:- This site is at the edge of a restored quarry, sheep pasture, and wooded hillside.- The site is tucked down a flat mowed path, so it feels very private and protected. - You can hike up a path to the sheep pasture. Sometimes sheep are there, sometimes elsewhere on the farm. You can hike the other direction and check out the restored quarry. We have paths all around the property, so feel free to respectfully explore.- You can't see the highway from this site, but you can hear it. It's super handy to be able to hop out of your campsite haven and onto the hwy, but be aware that you will hear vehicles.- There's a Mississippi river boat launch a few miles down the road, so feel free to park your boat at the bottom of the quarry driveway.- The Hay Creek riding trails are 25 minutes away, so contact us if you want to set up a place in the quarry to park your horses and trailer for the night. - We are certified to sell meat straight off of the farm (Twin Folk Farms), so contact us if you want to purchase your meat and have it delivered to your campsite. We loved "glamping" here! The cabin was adorable and had everything we needed. The location was perfect...secluded, yet so close to several gorgeous hiking spots. The stargazing was incredible. Our pups (one of whom is scared of other dogs and people) were so happy to have the seclusion. It was the perfect spot to spend our days hiking, and our nights being cozy in the cabin!

Weekend Trip to Rustic Log Cabin with Stunning View
The view of rolling hills, fields and forest was indeed lovely, especially with the Autumn colors. We loved the dark night sky, and could see all kinds of stars, milky way, meteors, satellites. The cabin is cozy and comfy and the beds were too! We enjoyed cooking over the fire outside, and using the propane griddle. Hosts are super warm, friendly and positive. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Weekend Trip to The Wooded Retreat/breakfast/spa
We wanted to get out but could not find camping with our trailer so my husband and I stayed in the Little Wooded Cottage. It was lovely. The cabin is super small but really cozy. I loved the mattress! It was incredibly comfortable. The cabin inside had a small chair, a nightstand, filled water jug and a few other small amenities. Outdoors came with a picnic table, fire pit, outdoor lighting and private outhouse ( which we appreciated) This cabin is not tucked away like the other cabins, you are close to the hosts home, but we had full privacy from the hosts and other campers. The cabin is shaded under pine trees and some maples and it was very quiet and serene. You are also within a 20 minute drive to Banning SP or St.Croix SP. I would book again for sure.

Hidden Hills is the perfect off-grid escape! Darla and her husband are the kindest hosts — when we couldn’t pull up our email, they welcomed us to their home, and he personally guided us to the cabin with water, firewood, and even help with our bags. That level of hospitality made us feel so cared for from the moment we arrived.
The cabin itself is cozy, clean, and thoughtfully stocked. There were tons of games to play, a coffee maker with coffee ready, and a kitchen with everything we could need: utensils, cutting boards, knives, frying pans, and even a seasoned cast-iron skillet (cooking on it was amazing — nothing stuck!). Linens were also provided, which was such a plus.
There’s a little walk up and down a hill to reach the cabin, but the view and the sense of seclusion make it more than worth it. We loved relaxing with our dogs, cooking over the fire, and just enjoying the quiet beauty of the setting.
We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already planning our return. If you’re looking for peace, comfort, and thoughtful touches in a secluded setting, this is it. Highly recommend!

Hidden Hills is such a gem for a peaceful getaway! Darla and her husband are the kindest hosts — when we couldn’t get our email pulled up because of service, we went to their house and he happily showed us the way to the cabin. He had firewood and water ready for us, and even helped carry our bags in. That thoughtful hospitality set the tone for our entire stay.
The cabin itself is cozy, clean, and the perfect off-grid escape. We cooked a delicious dinner over the fire — steak, caramelized onions, and foil-packet potatoes from Pepin Country Store — and it was one of the highlights of our trip.
While their farm meats were unfortunately sold out during our visit, the nearby food and wine scene more than made up for it. Villa Bellezza Winery has fantastic wines and gluten-free pizza (11/10!), Cannon River Winery is a must-visit (their wines are incredible and worth joining the club), and Pepin Country Store is a fun, unique stop for produce and goods. For dining, The Wild Hare in Stillwater is a gluten-free dream.
We left feeling grateful, relaxed, and already planning our return. Hidden Hills is one of those special places you’ll want to visit again and again — highly recommend!

Staying at the cabin on Darla's land was a spectacular break from our norm and exactly what we needed!
It is a bit of a walk from the parking area to the cabin itself, but truly enjoyable! (I feel like I can say that as I've had my hip replaced twice, most recently a year ago, it really is an enjoyable little hike)
Inside was gorgeous, too! The ladder up to the loft area became easier to use with each use. The gas stove and oven was there for use and works well. While there may not be plumbing, the set-up she has works well, and as they say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". The outhouse is surprisingly peaceful and the cabin toilet works as well.
A delay stole a chunk of our trip but Darla graciously allowed us a later checkout for more time to explore and enjoy everything.
Pets are welcome so we brought our cat, Evelyn. To ensure she was a good guest we brought her two beds, her litter box, as well as a little pop-up playpen that allows her outside with me, without having to worry about her running off (granted, at 22.5 lbs and 13 years old, she doesn't do much running around anymore) and found it unnecessary as the railing around the porch also has a wire fence around the bottom ensuring safety for pets And kids.
hile we didn't get around to using them much, bikes were something we added on, as well as firewood, that definitely benefited our trip. This place is truly gorgeous and we are already hoping to book another!
P.s. easy to get to even in a tiny Hyundai Elantra.

Great property with lots of beautiful land to explore. Was a great first “camping” experience for our kids. Cabin was cozy when we got rain, and it was awesome to have a camp toilet so we didn’t have to trek to the outhouse in a downpour! Darla and her husband were so helpful as well. Hanging in the hammock and catching toads were the favorites from our kiddos. :)

Huge fan of this property. From the host to the outdoor kitchen, it was a perfect stay. Im such a fan that I knew I needed to extend my reservation for another night within 5 minutes of stepping foot inside. Would’ve booked the whole week if it was possible! They packed a ton of character of into this little cabin, but somehow avoided making it tacky. It’s small, but it never once felt crammed or cluttered. I’ll absolutely be back soon. so happy it’s only about an hour from my home! Thanks for having us. Appreciate you!

Weekend Trip to The Wooded Retreat/breakfast/spa
Gorgeous setting. Quaint secluded cabins for a nice getaway retreat. Stayed there over the weekend and took day trips up to duluth, two harbors, and gooseberry falls.
It was perfect for me and my girlfriend as we wanted a break from the hustle in a quiet setting.

Group trip
We had a wonderful weekend in our cabin. The cabin was very clean upon arrival, well stocked on toilet paper, paper towels, linens, plenty of cooking utensils, pans. We arrived with groceries but forgot ketchup and mayo, to our surprise there was some in the fridge already (thank you).
The fishing right outside the cabin is great. Just walk to the shore, throw a crawler on a split spot rig and cast right into the main flow line of the river. We caught dozens of bass, sheep head, some 5-10lb catfish, a suckered.
The kayaks were all set on a stand upon arrival along with a SUP. The river itself was a gorgeous site. Very easy to kayak both ways. Please bring some water shoes or Crocs if you intend on walking in the water or swimming. Our oldest caught a treble hook left by someone to the bottom of his croc. Also pulled in some other tackle on the bottom of the river from people who got snagged. Just use caution.
We dined at A&W and Pizza Pub for their Friday pizza buffet. The Art Festival in town on Saturday was pretty cool. Prolly over 50 different vendors there selling different things.
The owners and everyone else we met in Pine City were all very friendly. It's such a wonderful town. We planned on exploring the area more originally, but some time at this cabin was all we needed.
If it wasn't 7 hours away I'd already be booking another trip back !!!! Thank you to the owners for doing a great job !!!
