I planned an impromptu getaway and Darryl was wonderful about the last minute notice. It WAS a little more “rustic” than I had planned but it was still great. A much needed peaceful and relaxing trip!

Super nice area! Spacious and lots of camp sites to offer. Staying in the cabin was really cozy. The stove and usb charging was really nice. Wood burning to stay warm, was something new that we enjoyed.

We really loved staying at the Tiny house (cabin). My 3 year old son didn't want to leave. This was our 1st time camping at an off grid cabin and it was a cool experience. Everything inside the cabin worked. The lights, gas stove, wood stove and the water pump. Also, 1st time using a composting toilet. It worked out well. Outside, there's a fire pit, some chairs, picnic table, gas grill and a charcoal grill. We got to meet Darryl and Linda, and they were very welcoming.

Weekend Trip to Purplehaze Acres
This was our third time camping on Darryl’s land, and our second time staying at the tiny cabin at his stone ridge location. We were super impressed with the upgrades made since our last stay. It was clean, with clear instruction. Every time we stay there we drive away saying, “best stay yet!”

Another wonderful weekend at this tiny cabin! We appreciated the extra firewood already at the site and the addition of a little store for any small items you may have forgotten or need like bug spray, first aid kits, emergency ponchos, lighters, charcoal, etc etc.

2 nights at Purplehaze Acres
Had a relaxing time at the cabin. Darryl responded quickly to bring us a lighter for the fire and even gave us some fresh eggs. It was great to find somewhere dog friendly but contained for safety. We have tent camped here previously so it was nice to return. The solar panel gave us plenty of nighttime lighting/phone charge and while it wasn’t necessarily cold enough to require the indoor wood burning fire, we did use it and sleep with the windows open and we were all comfortable. As mentioned the bathroom is not private but as a first time compost toilet user it was pretty straightforward and we did not notice any unpleasant smells. Thanks Darryl!

Needed a break from the city and found it at this solar-fueled tiny house at Purple Haze. Darryl will go out of his way to ensure you have what you need and will meet you (after you call) to make sure you see the home features (compost toilet, solar lights with light switches, pump sink, stove and wood burning stove). I had hoped to bring my dog up to the loft to the bed but she couldn’t do the ladder and is too gangly to carry. Yet, she was in dog heaven. Beautiful land and home… definitely recommend if you’re looking for a break and would like to enjoy some creature comforts.

We had the most magical stay at the tiny house. Darryl and Linda were truly so hospitable and warm. It’s clear they love the land and the creatures that inhabit it. 2 nights at Purplehaze Acres
Two best nights of sleep in so long. What an adorable cabin. We loved every minute of it. Be prepared to bring backup charging for your devices if you need it, there’s only solar electric with USB-A ports. We only had USB-C so were without phones, etc. (it was a welcome problem to be honest!)
Great spot, I’m definitely coming back!
We heard owls, Sandhill cranes, I saw several hawks and an eagle. It was so nice.

we had a lovely weekend here. there is almost anything here you might need for a quiet weekend away.
it is secluded enough to feel private and cozy, even in the winter with bare trees. a major plus is that you don’t have to worry about staying warm inside, even with very low outside temps. we hope to be back soon!

Excellent tiny cabin! We felt so good in that space. You can tell it was built with love, and it's extremely well built and solid. The little wood burning heater kept us super toasty, the bed was really comfy... Will come back
