We loved staying on Candace’s land! Our kids and dogs felt right at home. It was upscale tent camping. We had a great outdoor fire for breakfast, dinner, and s’mores and a great indoor fire to keep us warm on the cool fall nights.
The beds were comfortable - especially when you’re used to a tent and a camping pad! And the house heated up so nicely. It was really nicely stocked - we normally bring tongs, spatula, etc. but there were some hung on the cabin which was a nice touch. It was really nice not to get service for a few days, enjoy the scenery, and bum around local towns. We’d absolutely stay again. ❤️

This cabin was wonderful and exactly what we were looking for to unplug and unwind for a few days. Perfect for what we were looking for
and very serene and cozy. Our dogs absolutely loved the being able to run around and play on the land and there was tons of exploring for them to do. Thank you for having us! We can’t wait to visit again!

2 nights at Fisher Cat Creek Forest Retreat
Fisher Cat Creek was a great spot to relax and disconnect. Thank you to David and Veronica for the hospitality, the cabin was very comfortable and cozy. Everything was very clean and ready to go (having a little dog that sticks his little nose on everything we appreciate how tidy everything was). We had a couple of rainy nights but there was plenty of dry firewood to cook on the stove inside. We spent a lot of time reading on the couch with the sound of the rain and Archie had a great time while we explored the surrounding woods, definitely recommend going on a hike!!
David and Veronica have thought of everything we could have needed, kitchen has literally all the utensils, beds were clean and comfy, plenty of firewood and drinking water, T.P., BBQ setup, lots of books and boardgames, plus the long dog tie out leash already set up was perfect! It was so comfortable we could have stayed way longer. What a cool place, very thoughtfully designed and built! Can’t wait to come back some other time!

We only stayed 1 night at the barn, but I wish we had been able to stay longer! Kim was so warm and welcoming and every amenity was provided, even things I never considered! The loft was full of books and vintage toys; my girls played for hours exploring and stretching their imaginations! I could not recommend this site enough!

Loved Kickback’s Angler Shack! Communication was great from Jolene. The property and cabin were so well kept. The raspberry bushes were a plus. We spent the majority of our time in the river and by the fire. The grill and amenities were a plus! We will definitely be back!

Clean, safe, peaceful, serene.
We like to camp mostly, but we decided to leave the tent at home. The cabin is great because it doesn’t have electricity and running water— it maintains the adventure and rustic feeling of camping while proving a beautiful sleeping and living space in an amazing valley.
The other good thing is that there isn’t really cell service— perfect place to disconnect. My wife and I had a wonderful time just being together without any screens between us.
This truly is one of the last best places out there.

2 nights at Serenity Valley
We had a great stay at the Serenity Valley cabin! It’s a beautiful and very comfortable spot - a double bed on the first floor with a cozy fireplace, a couple of chairs and a cot. The host also left a lantern, first aid kit, additional trash bags, toilet paper and paper towels. Upstairs in the small loft area are two extra beds but it was way too hot up there during our stay. Out in the porch there is a couple more places to sit and a big table that helps with any food prepping + some basic cooking utensils (metal spatula, tongs, etc). Loved waking up to all the birds singing and watching the fireflies right outside at nightime!
The hosts generosity, recommendations about activities onsite and surrounding areas and comfortable amenities make this place a step up from your regular camping. The fireplace was our favorite spot, 10/10 would recommend!

This was our second time staying at The Angler Shack and we love it even more each time! It’s peaceful, perfectly tucked away just the right distance from town, and has everything you could possibly need. The upgrades with the water and grill are fantastic — they’ve thought of everything. Truly a magical little getaway. Can’t wait to come back!

The cabin at Fisher Cat Creek was absolutely precious for a solo retreat. The design of it was so beautifully done in every aspect. Water, blankets, and utensils are provided, which was awesome! My favorite amenity, though, was the egg-shaped porch swing (Second only to the library of books to choose from). My trip made for an excellent couple days of pure relaxation and reading/writing while the rain poured down. I stayed cozy and felt like I could give my brain a break from daily life. Thank you thank you thank you!

Weekend Trip to Kickback’s Angler Shack
Jolene was great and very hospitable! A welcome retreat near the cities. Beautiful property, lovely host, cozy cabin.
Really loved sitting on the deck in the matching rocking chairs. Enjoyed the amazing breeze when windows open. Comfortable sleeping options (including the futon). Very easy walk from the parking area to the cabin. Path is compacted and wide. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Very impressed! Also many gorgeous wildflowers and wildlife around.
Only thing to be mindful of is the compost toilet is taller because of its design, so those with mobility limitations should just be aware. (Sturdy step-stool is provided). That being said, it is a really nice compost toilet.
Would absolutely come back again in the future. Thanks!

Serenity Valley was everything we hoped for and more! The fresh air, wide open views, and peaceful surroundings made it the perfect escape. The cabin was incredibly clean, cozy, and thoughtfully set up — it felt simple but just right. We loved being surrounded by nature, and the deer heads inside added a fun, rustic touch. It was quiet, relaxing, and just what we needed to reset. We’ll definitely be back!

Kim and David and the whole family are truly special people. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and your mission to share such a wonderful place. I’d advise anyone looking at this Hipcamp to book it; you’ll be in for a real treat. The farm dogs are loping, lumbering, and lovable. Such great personalities. My little girl had such fun playing with them, feeding the chickens, and exploring the tulips. Kim and David went above and beyond to make us comfortable and delight us. We will absolutely be back.
