Weekend Trip to Brooklyn Heights Riverfront Camp

My second stay at Brooklyn. Heights. It was rainy so I chose a cabin but there are some nice tent spots on the river. Super clean portapottis and Vincent is around to answer questions or take care of any problems. I particularly like that campers are expected to keep music confined to their campsite, so it's always pretty quiet.

Vincent was very welcoming and we could tell he puts a lot of thought into the campground and the visitor's stay. Can't wait to see what he has in store for the future. As for site B3, it offers a fair amount of privacy and room. We were able to set up a tent and canopy, with plenty of room to reconfigure once we realized rain was coming. No picnic table and some spots are at an angle, so plan accordingly. Plenty of firewood to pick up in the surrounding woods. We will be reserving site B3 for our next visit!

Great campground along a beautiful river. Quiet and clean. The owner has went to great lengths to preserve trees that provide shade and a buffer between sites. I've stayed at this campground multiple times and will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our time with Vince at Brooklyn heights. Campsite was nice and secluded with plenty of shade and trees to hang a tarp. The site had a firepit and they had firewood for sale, but we opted to just use our solo stove and wood chips we brought from home. There is no picnic table so remember to bring a folding table. The toilets are just porta-potties, but they were kept very clean. There was a sink for washing dishes which was convenient. Overall we really enjoyed our time with Vince and the other camp hosts and hope to be back soon :)

The plot is pretty much what everyone else has said and described. Very basic but the campsite area is clean which we appreciated very much. Jennifer and her husband were very accommodating with what we needed to set up our SUV tent. Like Jennifer said the view of the sunset was beautiful and we loved seeing the cows, hearing the frogs and knowing that Bishop the dog had us "safe" over night ;) We ended up having to leave one night early and again Jennifer made sure we got looked after so as hosts I would give them 5 stars out of 5! Tasty eggs too 😋

My husband and I stayed at Brooklyn Heights for the second time, and it was just as amazing as we remembered—if not better! We went on a beautiful hike with stunning views, spent a relaxing afternoon playing on the beach by the river, and met some awesome, friendly people during our stay. The cabin was cozy and comfortable—such a peaceful place to unwind after a day of exploring. Brooklyn Heights has definitely become one of our favorite spots, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Great campsite and a ton of options depending on what you're looking for. If you have kids, you can't ask for more, as the campsite sit on both an easy to bike road and a placid part of the Dry Fork of the Cheat River to play in -- would be great for inner tubes when it's warm. The campsite was very quiet and tidy and they even had a coffee station, which was very appreciated. I will definitely be back! Vince is also a very welcoming host and checked in a couple times, which is always great.

This is a regular stop for me when travelling through the area. It works great for my needs. The hosts have always been friendly, responsive, and attentive. Looking forward to joining musicians for a jam one day soon.

Love this campground. Vincent was really helpful, upgraded me to a cabin when weather looked rough. Really beautiful area, right on the river. There is a nice communal sitting area and a communal fire pit. Lots of different types of sites, something for everyone.

2 nights at Possum Tail Farm

Jennifer was very warm and kind and immediately ready for us upon our arrival. The campsite is very large and private, and the compost potty is a very neat idea! We got rained out unfortunately, but it was overall a very great experience and I would recommend it to anyone! Bishop the big goofy lovey dog was a wonderful surprise as well!!!

The campground is nicely situated in a valley away from public eye. We were the only ones staying at the primitive tent site for two nights. The campsites are nicely nestled within tall trees that provide plenty of wood for the fire. The campground does offer firewood for a great price. Unfortunately we had brought our own wood, but there was also plenty of wood to forage for and we ended up leaving a nice pile for the next camper. Watch for small branchs and twigs falling. The wildlife viewing was pretty awesome and the night sky was great for stargazing. Dont forget to bring a hammok for your site. Highly recommend this location. PS, very clean toilet!!!!

There are no GMO's, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides used on our farm. We are 3 miles from Terra Alta, a rural town with a locally owned restaurant and a local craft beer brewery featuring an exciting rotating cast of food trucks. We are 20 minutes from Swallow Falls State Park (MD), featuring Muddy Creek Falls, awesome river swimming and gorgeous hiking in an old growth Hemlock forest. We are also 20 minutes from Herrington Manor State Park (MD) were there is a lake for swimming, fishing, and canoeing. Cathedral State Park (WV) a virgin Hemlock forest with 400 year old trees about 45 minutes away. Deep Creek Lake (MD) is 40 minutes away and offers motor boat rentals, Golf, Skiing and swimming. There is skiing, hiking, biking, tubing, rafting, kayaking and much more to explore within 40 minutes of our farm. The best white water rafting on the east coast is 20-40 minutes away.Farm products are available for purchase on-site. Campers can choose to to have a farm to table meal cooked for them as an extra at checkout. We prepare most of our food from scratch using local produce, meat and bulk organic dry goods. We occasionally make yogurts, noodles, simple cheeses, and fermented foods.We welcome campers of all kinds!
