Dogwood Cabin is an off grid experience. Think glamping. It is set on 25 acres in the rolling hills of Morgan County in southeast OH, close to the village of Chesterhill. Hidden in the woods, back a gravel driveway. No electricity, no running water, no central heat, no WiFi, no cell service. Truly getting out into nature without distractions. Hang your hammock between trees. Build a fire to grill your meals. Relax on the porch swing or by the fire. Hike the property, play in the creek. Dogwood Cabin has a small kitchenette. There is a propane camping stove and some pots, pans, coffee maker, and dishes. We have a grill to place over the fire pit. There are 4 mattresses in the loft. No linens. Bring sleeping bags, etc. No running water. Bring water in jugs for drinking, cleaning up and dousing the fire. Buddy propane heater to take off the chill inside, but not make it cozy. Bring a flashlight or lantern. We have several battery lanterns. On low, the lights should work for 6-8 hours. On high, much less. An outhouse (think wooden porta potty) is not far from the cabin. No cell service or internet. Chesterhill is about 2 miles and has service in numerous places on Main St. We have gone up the hill at the church in Todds - right on Goshen Run, left on St Rt 377, about 2 miles. Firewood is not provided. You can bring your own or scrounge the woods for dead branches and twigs. Please douse the fire before leaving. Rake leaves away from the fire pit. Dry materials could easily start a forest fire. 8 plastic deck chairs are stacked on the porch. Please put them back and secure the cover before you leave. We encourage you to get groceries on your way to the cabin, since it is 30 minutes to a decent grocery store. Chesterhill has Ron's Convenience and Restaurant where you can buy subs, pizza, burgers, fries, and groceries. Triple Nickel Diner in Chesterhill is another neat place to eat. No motorcycles on the driveway. You may enjoy hiking the 25 acres on the property. Nature is awesome, but check yourselves and your pet for ticks. 24 hours before your arrival, you should receive a message with the code to get in at the digital entry door, plus a bit more information that you may enjoy.

Located in the rolling Appalachian hills of Southeast Ohio. This farm has been in our family since 1869 when our relatives settled here from Germany. Originally farmed for cattle and sheep with many orchards over the years our property is now mostly mature forest. Southeast Ohio, including our property is known for its hilly topography and microclimates. Hills range from 400 to 1,100 feet. Nearly 500 acres of land with an additional 200+ acres of Wayne National Forest adjacent to our farm and close proximity to other Wayne areas for outdoor activities. We have nearly 10 miles of available trails for hiking. Many activities can be done at or centered around our property. Such as excellent and challenging road biking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, kayaking and boating. We are two miles from the Little Muskingum River. A great river for kayak trips. The Wayne Kinderhook horse and hiking trail is roughly 5 miles from our location. Hike the Irish Run Natural Land bridge trail also a short drive to the trailhead from our property. Ride your motorcycle up Rt. 26 a great Ohio byway for scenic driving. This is also a great home base for dual sport or adventure bike motorcycle riders to camp while adventuring along gravel roads through Appalachia. If motorcycles aren't your method of entertainment and travel. Bring your horse and ride on several of our trails. From steep ascents to long flat ridge lines, you will have lots of time to immerse yourself with nature while hiking. We're next to a section of the Wayne National Forest and a short drive to other similar Wayne activity sites. If you like to camp, but don't want the busy public park experience then you will enjoy the privacy of our camping location. We are also only about a 20-minute drive to downtown Marietta. Where you can find restaurants, bars, and many other fun activities.

This campsite is beautifully situated on an active Amish farm in Chesterhill, Ohio. There’s a fire pit and outhouse for your use. There are no hookup’s, but you can bring your off grid camper or tents. Emanuel and Lilly operate a stunning 60+ acre farm, wood shop, gardens, and chicken coop. Both are wonderful people and always a pleasure to just sit back and have a nice leisurely chat. They belong to a traditional Amish group, so there isn't electricity on site. There are special booking guidelines because the family does not have telephone, however, someone is generally available at the farm house. Once you set up on site Emanuel will stop down to say hello and make sure your settled in just fine. My name is Chad. Woody Acres truly is a magical place. There is so much to do, and even though we faced lots of rain while we were there, time seemed to not exist while we were with our friends and Austin and Kate under the shelter that Austin built with the camper. We also enjoyed a fun plant walk with Austin and a dip in the pond! It's always very hard for us to leave because we love it there so much. The land is beautiful. The hospitality is truly unmatched. J was very attentive and thorough with my needs and communication. The camper was so cute and had a great rustic and modern style on the inside. The shower and the outhouse was the most impressive. Upscale and clean for a camper vibe. There is access to trails you can spend hours walking in just behind the camper. Its also 20 min from town so a doable drive just in case you need to pick up anything you forgot.

This was a great camp spot for my partner and our dogs. Lovely camper with a lot of amenities. Bathroom was very nice and kept clean. Lots of great trails nearby to hike. Great to chill by the fire and since it was cold out, it was very nice to have heating in the camper. Overall great time; will be back if ever in the area again!

Weekend Trip to Prayer Mountain

Spending a day and night at Brandon's A-frame cabin was a positive experience my partner and I will never forget. The cabin itself was cozy and stocked with all the essentials. The surrounding area is what really made for a memorable experience. We came in late, well after dark, and were greeted by a small persistent goat attendant who kept us company while we got settled. The next morning, we were greeted by several more, as well as peacocks, emu, pigs, and donkeys. We had no idea there were so many animals and were delighted to hang out with them all morning long.

We loved staying at the peppermint patty wagon! Woody acres is a beautiful campsite and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved the outdoor kitchen and appreciated how well-stocked it was with different supplies. The hosts are fantastic, too!

Weekend Trip to Pop's Place Camping

We loved staying in the bear cabin! It was perfect. The area was beautiful. Cabin had great amenities. One of my personal favorites. Owners are super nice friendly and accommodating. This is a great place to camp!

We chose the Peppermint Patty Wagon for the outdoor kitchen space, which was absolutely perfect for us, but we'd stay in any space Kate and Austin created. All of their offerings are unique and amazing! They are detail oriented, thoughtful hosts who genuinely care about your comfort. We can't wait to return!

2 nights at Woody Acres

They were so kind and helpful! When we didn’t realize JUST how cold it was going to get (17 degrees), they stepped right up to make sure the fire was going a little so we got there in a semi-warm place. A few wasps that were not happy with us bugging them (see what I did there?) greeted us but they love to find places to get in everywhere we go. Their property is SURROUNDED by state and national parks. WOW. So much beautiful history, wildlife, and dirt roads! We drove into Athens for coffee and to Salaam for dinner. We hiked all over Zaleski State Park, saw the Moonville Tunnel, visited Fairfield County Infirmary on the way back home. I can not WAIT to come back!!!

Weekend Trip to Woody Acres

Had a great stay at Woody Acres this weekend. The hosts were very accommodating to our needs and so kind to us! The school bus was perfect, with extra storage space, a load of amenities and a cozy wood stove keeping us warm! A relaxing, fun time was had!

Weekend Trip to Appalachian Retreat Camp

Lovely site! Felt very private, and the land we were on was so beautiful. Enjoyed a big hike and spent a lot of time relaxing at the cabin by the fire. Def recommended

Weekend Trip to The Woods At Pedigo Ridge

Beautifully decorated and well appointed yurt. Very spacious. Private, serene location. Close to Hocking Hills State Park and other cool state parks/national forests. Host was responsive and helpful. Would definitely come back in the future and recommend to others!

We had an excellent time! We didn’t get to explore much around the camping area due to weather, but we stayed very warm with the wood stove! Everything was so cute and the amenities were so nice! We ended up being over prepared because so much was already provided. Located perfectly to go spend the day at the multiple surrounding parks and trail systems!
