Property was owned by my great grandfather , He lost 150 acres in the early 1900's due to a bad debt from neighboring landowner. Was so happy to be able to repurchase the 150 acres back in 2016,now own the original land tract and added more. 250 acres in total. Portions were strip mined around 1978-1982 creating some flat fields and access to all property. I might add that strip mining if done properly can and does enhance the property. Ponds were built to catch runoff and several new animal species moved in waterfowl ,muskrats, and beavers. The beavers have constructed large dams on property further adding to the beauty. Have seen several bald eagles on and around the property.

What makes W.T. Farm special is the diversity of textures of the landscape. We have great mountain top views, as well as, a deep holler with cliffs, rock outcroppings, and waterfalls. The fields are full of fruit and nut trees and there are 5 ponds. Each of these supports its own flora and fauna. I acquired stewardship of this land 35 years ago and have developed perennial orchards wherever possible. I started with pears and have branched out into pawpaws, apples, persimmons, currants, black walnuts etc. and I boast that I planted the first commercial hickory oil orchard in the world. I am an eccentric horticulturalist and graft cultivar varieties onto existing trees like oaks, hickories, black walnuts, and even the maligned invasive honeysuckle, autumn olive and multiflora rose. Just last year I bought an adjoining farm that opened up 50 acres of more orchard planting. It is on top of the mountain and offers an expansive view of the valley and ridge system that defines our region. Funny thing is that because the land between the old farm and the new farm is divided by cliffs in the holler the only way to get from one to the other is a 12 minute drive or vigorous hiking. On this new land is a historic log cabin I am renovating that is said to be one of the original settler's cabin on the mountain. Because of the amount of tree fruit I grow and the varied landscape, there is a rich diversity of birds and animals to be seen. One of my favorite walks is along the cliffs to the top waterfall where there is a sweet wading pool. I have also built a number of ponds and four of them are quite swimmable. One has a dock and is where we spend much summer time refreshing and frolicking. The farm is also a small (very small) licensed farm winery and we make and sell traditional hard cider from our apples and pears. Our cider can be purchased along with our nut oils and flours and other farm produce you may not be familiar with. We live to eat. Coming here is a gastronomical adventure! I run the Acornucopia project from here and from it we are developing a foragers network that would very much suit the lifestyle of hipcampers. We pay foragers for wild nuts they gather. Beautiful place with great views of the farm fields and mountains beyond. We were there on a terribly windy late Fall day (we were right at the top of the mountain) so we are looking forward to coming back in the Spring when we can enjoy being outside more and roaming the farm.

The camp site was in a clearing along woodline in a secluded location. Very accommodating and scenic. I noticed each campsite was similarly situated affording privacy and good separation from the others. It was also extremely clean. The leaves had been blown clear of the path to the outhouse, which was well stocked with tp. The view of the nightsky was as advertised. I highly recommend this campsite for it's ease of access, beautiful location, and seclusion.

I came to camp on Tony’s land to specifically view the sunrise on October 25. It was the one month anniversary of losing my son, and I couldn’t have asked for any better way to spend it with him. In my opinion, the best place to view the sunrise is site 104, which is what i snagged. If you’re looking for a place with a view, this is it!

The views are breathtaking! From the fire rings to the Adirondack chairs - the wooden swings at our site - it was all so well taken care of and welcoming. The mushroom trail was adorable. Loved the location as it was close to so many areas to explore. And also the recommendation for local food was excellent. “Dish” was delicious food and atmosphere was great.

The land was beautiful and the lots of privacy. Directions were clear and house is not visible from site. I appreciated the grate in fire pit making it easier to manage the fire. There are 2 other sites on the property but never heard or saw anybody. Makes a great home base for nearby adventures.

Amazing spot John was very welcoming the entire time we felt at home. There’s 250 acres of nothing but stunning views. There’s a ton of stuff to do right there skeet shooting a cute little putting green there are five ponds perfect for fishing. The little touches aren’t to be missed either the cute on site shower house with laundry *chefs kiss the bird houses the cute I assume from family named roads and alleys even a 55 miles according an hours sign…. If you’re looking for a place to get away and forget the world this is the place!!!! 10 out of 10 recommend

I loved camping here. No light pollution so you can see the stars really well. So much space between camp sites so you don’t feel crowded in or like you have to be super quiet late at night. Had an outhouse, picnic table, and fire ring on site and tons of room for us to set up and spread out. Beautiful scenery and you were allowed to use downed branches as firewood!

Field of dreams was great spot if you are looking to avoid the crowds of campgrounds in the area. There were two other camping spots that were occupied but they are very far away. You can’t see the other spots. They all looked good. Property is well maintained. It is as advertised.

We had a great time on Aprils property. We were secluded with Mountain View's in every direction, it was breathtaking. Very quiet and well maintained spot. April and her husband were some of the kindest people we've met. They ley my kids feed the chickens and sheep and their dogs were the best, the kids played with them a lot. Would DEF stay here again.
