The area is filled with scenic views, opportunities to kayak, explore Willapa Hills Trail, local shopping and museums. We recommend seeing the works of local artisans at Boondocks Marketplace, Riverside Gallery, and Alder and Co.

It is an ideal location for large groups, family reunions, workshops, or what have you. A rustic kitchen, two 6' folding tables (bring tablecloths), and a fire pit with accessories make setting up camp a cinch. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest and farm, there is something of interest here for everyone. If you're looking to explore the area, Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all just day trips from here. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet in the middle vacation. Locally, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Even closer, Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing opportunities, summer concerts, and a playground for the kids and is just five minutes down the road. Enjoy communing with our goat, chicken and duck friends. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum. Bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out. While the campsite, play space, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild so bring your tromping shoes. We also have a play field (with a net) so pack your movie screen, volleyball, soccer ball, badminton set and lawn games. My partner and I were lucky enough to purchase it in Oct 2020 and our goal is to bring it to its original beauty and charm with the most up to date amenities. Long Beach Peninsula has been a family vacation destination for a long time and there's so much fun to be had on every inch of land! Located centrally between Leadbetter Point and Cape Disappointment, we have 16 full hookup RV sites (30 amp power/water/septic/Wifi) close enough to enjoy the fun of Long Beach and Ocean Park, but far enough to retreat to your camp for quiet and relaxation. Hang out in the rec room or at a fire pit, play horseshoes or bocce ball with family, or take a short walk down our dune path to watch the sun set on the ocean.

Our beachin camp is located on the Longbeach, Washington Peninsula. It's a dry camp, for now. It's less than a half mile to the ocean. We have four sites available. Each site has a cute cinder block firepit. Its perfect for RV's or tent sites. As you turn onto the property you will be met with a gate. To identify the correct property you will see two small brick pillars at the entrance. Please be sure the keep the gate closed when not in use. Upon entering the gate, our campsites are located along the LEFT-hand side and are distinguishable by the 4 built-in block firepits. (Please note: the campsites along the right-hand side that are nearest to the cell tower are not operated by us.) Pack out what you pack in. All trash must be removed at check out. Jack's Country Store offers garbage drop off for a small fee. There is a small park with a restroom located a couple blocks away that is usually open for public use. On the land you will find some flat, prairie land that are used for gardening and chicken raising. There is also an old orchard with 15 plus apple and pear trees. Campers are welcome to harvest apples and pears in the fall when they are in season! Half of the land, 2.5 acres is a forest of pine and alder trees which hosts incredible wild life: a family of fox, Northwest bats, Northern Pygmy owls, Spotted owls, Northern flickers, Pileated woodpeckers, red ants, deer, elk, rabbits, snakes, mice and million more insects and birds. The land also has an incredible variety of mushrooms, mostly non-edible though, and ferns and mosses.

Raven's Nook

Raven's Nook is located just a few miles outside the historic logging town of Vernonia, and boasts a 100-year-old cedar cabin, a concrete skateboard bowl, a wood-fired sauna (operational outside of burn ban dates), a large garden, and lush, mature coast range forest. The cabin has electricity but no running water at this time. A propane grill and burners are available for cooking. There are multiple fire pits on the property for when conditions allow. The property backs up to Weyerhaeuser land where permit-based hunting and recreation are very popular. The quaint town of Vernonia has a brand new skatepark of its own, and there are numerous festivals and parades throughout the year. The Banks-Vernonia Trail is a lovely paved bicycle path for cycling enthusiasts of all stripes. The Crown-Zellerbach Trail and L.L. Stub Stewart State Park offer mountainbikers some challenging terrain.
