Welcome to Olympic Wanderer! This fairy-tale nature retreat creekside cabin will wow you with its stellar location, lush grounds, hot-tub, and stylish interior. The cabin is nestled in a forested community next the hood canal, famous for its rich waters and shellfish harvesting. This is the perfect base for your adventures on the Olympic Peninsula, and is a great central location close to endless amazing hiking trails, including Olympic NP and multiple state parks less than 10 minutes away.
The highlight of the cabin is the log bridge across the creek! You will feel like you are on an amazing hiking trail or in a fairytale on the rainforest-like grounds with a babbling brook or rushing creek running through it depending on how much rain we have had. Our property is directly across the street from access to the national forest service roads with miles of roads and trails. PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING: The cabin is older and rustic, and we are renovating it over time. There is a very steep/narrow staircase that excesses the second floor, and the twin bed artea is part of the lofty and is not an enclosed bedroom. The living space and kitchen are open concept, and there is seating for 4 at the dining room table and 2 countertop barstools as well. The adorable farmhouse style kitchen has everything you need to cook meals during your stay, including all cooking essentials and basic spices. We also have pancake mix and quick oats for our guests in case you forgot to bring your own breakfast. If you are lucky enough to stay in late summer, you can walk across the street to pick wild blackberries. The living room has a large TV and a nice selection of DVDs to choose from. We also have Starlink for both internet and streaming services. Cell service can be hit or miss depending on provider. The bathroom is on the lower level, as well as the first bedroom which has a queen bed. The 2nd bedroom opens up with a barn door and also has a queen bed as well as beautiful views of the creek and trees. For this reason it is my favorite bedroom! At the bottom of the stairs is the mud room which is a an enclosed patio and is a great place to store recreational equipment or wet/muddy items. It also allows excess to one of the decks which features outdoor seating and a bbq.

Incredible location! This sweet cabin is nestled at the base of Mt. Jupiter, directly between Dosewallips beach and the Olympic national Park. There's lots of gorgeous, mossy maples, shaggy cedars, and elk herds roaming free. The Cabin is easily accessible from the road, and has parking available. There's a secluded fire pit behind the cabin with a seasonal stream running by. Its a relaxing place to hang out for a few days, and/or excellent basecamp to explore the amazing forests, mountains, and beaches nearby. Also, there's lots of great foraging to be done (nettles, mushrooms, and oysters; oh my!)
GPS LOCATION: When driving to the cabin, your GPS will tell you that 'your destination is on the left'. This is a lie. The cabin will be on the right. There is a metal gate that is closed with a chain but not locked.
CABIN LAYOUT AND SLEEPING AMENITIES: The Cabin is just a little guy; only 16'x20'. There is a kitchen, living room, and dining room area, and the bathroom is a separate room - we call it our 'studio cabin'. We have a fold out couch for which we provide linens, pillows, and a comforter. There is also an inflatable mattress that is a tight squeeze, but can allow for four people to sleep (with a little furniture rearranging). There is a deck that is large enough for a two person tent that would also make a four person camp-out comfortable.
All linens and towels are stored in the trunk and the bathroom cabinet. There is a 4' round dining room table with four chairs and a small table on the porch with two more chairs. All the cushions for the chairs are in a cabinet under the table inside.
ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, the cabin is not wheelchair accessible. There are 5 stairs up to the deck and the bathroom door is only 27" wide.
SURROUNDING AREA: There are small trails leading away from the cabin; do not walk down them! They lead to neighboring properties and I cannot guarantee that there won't be neighbors who would be very surprised by a stranger showing up on their land! There are lots of public trails only a few minutes drive in either direction from the property :)
STOLEN LAND: This property is on stolen, indigenous land. If you are Coast Salish or Makah, please get in touch with me for a discounted stay.

Overall a great little cabin! It was tucked away in the woods and felt very private. The area was beautiful and the cabin was clean. Just a couple downsides, the cabin was pretty chilly especially at night since the wood stove wasn’t working and the little radiator heater was not strong enough to warm the whole place up. Also there were quite a lot of food items left over from previous guests (I assume). The freezer especially was very full and it was hard to fit my own food in there.
Also no cell service, which is both a pro and a con haha.
A nice and relaxing time!

This is the cutest and coziest little cabin in the woods! So good for an offline reset to wrap up the year. It has everything you need and nothing you don’t. Super close to many trails for hiking and stunning sound views. I’d come back every season!

We went of for the weekend for a port gamble conference. After some research, we came across this lovely place! We absolutely looooooved the peacocks and goats! I would definitely love to visit again! The only thing I would recommend if you stay here through late fall or winter is to pack something warm to sleep in. It didn’t get a little chilly, but other than that, it was a lovely place. ♥️

We used this cabin as a base for exploring the forests and parks on the Olympic peninsula, and we had a blast. We were able to explore everything we wanted to, and return to a nice cozy and quiet cabin to rest and recover for the next day's dventures. The cabin had everything we needed for relaxing, and the hosts were responsive and had help available if anything small came up. Great place, would rent again if in the area.

No running water but everything else! The host has this little cottage cozied up with lovely linens, beautiful plants, and a few surprises. The property and surrounding area are beautiful. Great weekend getaway with plenty of dining and shopping a short drive away. Off grid camping leveled up! Thanks for having us!

We had a wonderful time at the Cascade Rose Alpaca Farm! Shari was an extremely accommodating host, and made us feel at home in our campsite nestled away behind the farm. We stayed the night after a concert at Remlinger Farms, which is a quick 20-30min walk along the Snoqualmie Valley Trail. We'll definitely be back!

A frame was very comfortable, easy to move the two beds together for a comfortable sleep.
It was also easy to open the side up for some breeze but we did leave it closed most of the night to keep the bugs out.
Completely out of the hosts control there seemed to be teenagers camping across the river in the public campsite making noise until fairly late. Again, nothing I would ding the host for.

10/10 stay. We had a magical weekend in the forest and absolutely loved this little cabin. Cozy bed, lots of books and activities, and a beautiful deck to hang out on. We really appreciated the stocked kitchen and shared spices. The hike to Murhut falls nearby was fabulous. We hope to come back again 🌙

Wonderful stay! Very easy to find, cozy and private. The A frame felt like a micro hotel room. Very comfy and built thoughtfully with shelves to put small items on. Amenities better than expected. Hand washing station with full plumbing and phone charging cables. Porta potty well maintained. Host and wife greeted us upon arrival to show us around, which we appreciated. They had freshly picked blackberries for us in the unit. We asked for eggs and each egg had the hens name on it :)

Weekend Trip to Cascade Rose Alpaca Farm Stay
My gut wants me to keep this magical place a secret. I'm afraid if word gets out, I'll never get to stay here again. But also, Shari and her family are all so welcoming and helpful, so I definitely want to boost their business.
This spot is about a mile walk down a straight and flat trail to Remlinger Farm, and the perfect crash pad after one of their summer concerts. It is also the perfect compromise for anyone who doesn't really like camping, but loves the outdoors and hates parking traffic. Everything is set up for you, and everything is very comfortable and cozy. The alpacas are so funny and cute (but be careful, they spit!), and we loved the friendly farm doggies Colt and Rutger. (They were friendly but also good guard dogs, barking at us when we came back from the concert after dark!) We got to see a 36-hour old baby alpaca! And also some goats, who weren't all that interested in us.
This place is wonderful and magical but I don't recommend you book this place until the last minute... but for selfish reasons. I want first dibs.
Hot tip: being a small flashlight for the walk back, and keep an ear and eye out on that walk for passing bikes (step to the right, they'll pass on the left!)

This is a great campsite. It's fairly private, the toilet was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we stayed warm overnight. It was great to walk back to camp after a local concert and not have to deal with driving/waiting in the chaos to get home. The alpacas were cute, and the dogs were friendly. We will definitely stay here again.
