Come stay in our beautiful safari tent and experience our flower farm and old-growth Maple Forest. Located in the heart of Olalla near the Colvos Passage waterway, a ferry ride from West Seattle, 20 minutes from Tacoma, and near the quaint town of Gig Harbor. Last year we upgraded to two queen sized memory foam beds!! Lovely 100% cotton sheets and cozy blankets will keep you nice and comfy on those cool nights. Two extra twin sized cots are available to rent in the "Extras" section of the listing.** You will feel very secluded on our 5 acre property. Our parcel is partially wooded and partially cleared for our flower farm. But it adjoins neighboring properties that have an additional 20+ acres that are totally wooded giving the feeling of being further away from civilization than you are. Enjoy an outdoor shower on the edge of the woods with on-demand hot water. You’ll also have your own custom made steel fire pit with fire wood available for purchase (or you can bring your own). We have an outdoor picnic table as well as a table inside the tent for late night card games. There's a lovely little bathroom with a composting toilet and a sink with running water. We allow up to 6 people (absolutely no pets) and request that parties respect the limit so that our composting toilet can keep up with the demand with minimal servicing while you are here (to maintain your privacy). Please contact us to set up a time for a guided tour if you are interested in seeing the farm up close. Please no U-pick or tours without guidance. We’d like to make sure to point out that there is convenient and dedicated parking for campers but the camping spot is about 200 feet from the parking area and over uneven ground. A cart is provided for unpacking your vehicle. Because it is very dark here at night, we would request that campers arrive before dark to safely find their way and unload with adequate light. Things provided: Weather proof tent, two queen sized beds and bed linens, outdoor and indoor tables chairs, solar-powered lights, composting toilet, firepit, outdoor shower with hot water, parking for 2 cars. We are located about a mile from Howard Miller Steelhead Park and the Town of Rockport, not far from North Cascades National Park. when you get here please feel free to drive on the grass to the tent.

Fern Gully is a perfect spot for group camping, off in the back of the property offered much privacy! Beautiful grounds and very serene! Many trails and the lake had many Bass, but too small this year to keep. Highly recommend!

Great space! We stayed in yurt #1 fern gully! Lovely area, fun exploring trails and was so nice to stay dry in rain - glad we weren’t tent camping! First time to use Hipcamp - have always camped at state parks in past. Highly recommend!

We loved this place! The farm is beautiful and peaceful, and the camp is super comfortable. The glamping tent is amazing - a comfortable double bed with some additional furniture, electricity, and even a space heater making this perfect for those shoulder season trips to the North Cascades. The area was big - plenty of room to set up a few extra tents, or let kids run around and play games. Will definitely be back.

Great spot to spend the night close to the North Cascades. Check in/out was incredible easy and didn’t require any interaction as we arrived late and left early. My body was happy to sleep on a mattress between days of big hikes. Will likely stay a night here again next time I hit the north cascades.

My family had so much fun staying at Black Walnut tent.. The tent is beautifully set up and has a gorgeous view of Sauk Mtn. In a Serene setting. The Owner was gracious host. And even introduce us to Goumi berries and shared some vegetables from his garden.

Really lovely spot! Cozy setup, good directions, great communication from the host when I had questions. So nice to have a real bed while camping! If you’re a light sleeper, there’s a rooster and dogs nearby and the bullfrogs get some good volume too! 😆 We played white noise on my phone to help but there is no electricity at the site so you’ll want to bring a portable charger of some sort if you need it. Excellent stay overall! Loved paddling around the little pond!

The views are absolutely stunning, the safari tent is fun and spacious, the pit toilet is clean and not smelly [with the coolest views]. We loved the extra touch of wildflowers, gumi-berries and the super kind hosts! Proximity to local natural beauties and town is perfect too. Highly recommend!!

We loved our stay at the Black Walnut Glamping Tent! Will’s beautiful farm was incredibly peaceful and the perfect place to relax. It’s also a great location if you’re looking to stay near North Cascades National Park. We even saw elk roaming the property! Will was a gracious host—he welcomed us warmly and invited us to try some of the fresh fruit he was growing. We'd definitely love to stay here again!

Our family loved camping here! It was our first time camping with kiddos and the amenities made it so much easier. Comfy warm beds, hot shower, and composting toilet made camp life a breeze. Jodi and Aaron were the sweetest hosts, offering recommendations for 4th of July fireworks viewing and restaurants. Would absolutely recommend this spot - it was an easy commute from Seattle on the Southworth Ferry.
