Zigzag Mountain Farm

6 sites · Tents50 acres · Rhododendron, OR
Located on Mount Hood about an hour from Portland, Zigzag Mountain Farm is home to an organic garden, old homestead, house, yurts, and barn. 50 acres of open meadows and forest, bordering thousands of acres of national forest. The farm is home to an organic garden, campfire circle, picnic area, a city bus with a campers' kitchen, outdoor seating area with BBQ, kids play structure and hiking trails. The cabin on the property was built by the original homesteaders. Britta and Jim purchased the property in 2009. It had been vacant for a number of years. Giant slash piles scattered the land from previous logging. The house and cabin were not livable and needed major renovations. In 2019 we purchased and brought in a city bus and converted it to a campers kitchen. A year-round creek flows through the property and 3 major rivers are nearby. The Zigzag Mountain Lookout Trail leaves from the property. The property was homesteaded in the late 1800's. E. Mountain Drive was the wagon train trail into Portland, known as the Barlow Trail. Zigzag Mountain farm offers the perfect escape from the city.

Klickitat Canyon Winery

18 sites · Tents36 acres · Lyle, WA
25 years in the making from a cattle ranch and alfalfa pasture to a scenic wildflower and wildlife haven, our farm is a working winery and vineyard. We have reestablished native wildflowers and grasses back into our vineyard in order to help conserve native prairie habitat. 80 percent of our land is oak woodland and is in the process of restoring itself from the aggressive grazing of cattle. Therefore, our farm provides a shelter for deer, turkeys, hawks, and bobcats. We enjoy these animals and give them the space that is due for sharing the land. We do almost all of our work by hand and do not own a tractor or much other farm equipment so our farm is a quiet and relaxed setting. Our property lies in a seasonal creek bottom that is an infrequent source of water in our area. Because of this all of our household water and agriculture is run from a spring and wildlife come from a distance to replenish their thirst.

Rhoda's Joy

3 sites · RVs, Tents40 acres · Washougal, WA
This property was once part of a 200 acre cattle ranch turned into a Christian community. The families shared meals, home-schooled their children and had a home-based church. They raised their own food in a 3 acre garden and orchard along with chickens and cows for milk, meet and eggs. Two of the original families still own some of the acres although the community was dissolved and much of the property sold to other people. Learn more about this land: We love sharing our beautiful land with those that love nature. The sunsets, the peace and the birdsong are the best.  Pets are welcome and you can walk through the forest with them on dirt pathways or keep them in your campsite. Please keep pets out of our area, as our dog is very protective and has been known to have scuffles with other animals approaching. Grassy areas are available to set up tents or have picnics. There are firepits for when the burn ban is not on (a wheelbarrow full of wood for $5). The campsites are large and spaced quite far from each other.  Please stay on gravel roadways with all motor vehicles.  There are two outhouses for tents campers. There is one non-potable water spigot by the log outhouse. There is no electricity on the property.  For your own safety and peace of mind, please keep all food in bear safe containers or locked in your cars. If you forget anything, the Washougal River Mercantile is two miles away where you can buy gas and groceries.  Local hiking trails on the Columbia Gorge:  Cape Horn Trail just 3 miles from our property and Beacon Rock/Hamilton Mountain trail is a 15 minute drive.   We can give you directions to our favorite swimming hole for cooling down on hot summer days in the Washougal river. (Discovery Pass required at the river) parking spot. Buy those at the Mercantile as well)

Harvest Haven Campground

6 sites · RVs, Tents10 acres · Lyle, WA
*** PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS A WORKING FARM WITH FREE RANGE ANIMALS. *** Nestled among the majestic White Oaks, our HipCamp Havest Haven resides within the charming Hillbilly Farm, a family-owned and operated haven with six generations of deep roots in the heart of the scenic Columbia River Gorge. Our working farm offers a unique experience, where you'll encounter livestock and free-range chickens roaming freely. The property itself is a picturesque blend of ancient oak and maple woodlands, alongside grassy fields bursting with wildflowers in the spring. Several vantage points offer stunning views of the Columbia River and the iconic Mt. Hood. During your stay, you can explore our seasonal farm stand, brimming with produce and products grown, raised, or crafted right here on the farm. Take a leisurely stroll through our one-acre garden, where a U-pick salad bar and a tomato and herb garden await. For a closer look at farm life, visit our chickens, guinea hens, and pigs – even feed them apples! And don't forget to meet Petunia, our beloved Kunekune pig, who adores a good belly rub. Our campground, featuring two sites sharing a one-acre field alongside a quiet county road, provides a peaceful outdoor retreat. Unfiltered spring water is accessible at spigots near the camp and farm stand; however, we recommend purifying the water for drinking or bringing your own. Please be aware that the campsites' proximity to the county road means occasional traffic may be seen and heard. Beyond the farm, you'll find yourself perfectly situated just 1.5 miles east of the Catherine Creek Recreation Area. This prime location caters to a wide range of interests, from hiking and mountain biking to hunting and rock climbing at Coyote Wall. Windsurfing, wine tasting at four neighborhood wineries (two within walking distance), and bird watching are also popular activities. The area teems with wildlife, including wild turkeys, deer, and a variety of songbirds. Further afield, a short drive opens up countless recreational opportunities, including fishing, swimming, beaches, boating, wind sports, wildlife viewing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and white-water rafting.

Hoodland Basecamp at Scrumpy Farest

12 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents39 acres · Sandy, OR
*** On/around October 1, 2024 we will be shutting down the waterlines to the camp bathroom+shower to avoid frozen and burst water lines. Sites will still be available, and the toilet will still be operational, but water for showers, washing and drinking water will not be available until May 2025. Thank you!! Wanna have a home base for your Hoodland escapades? We're right at the doorstep to Portland, Cascades, Columbia River Gorge, even the coast! Sick of city life's craziness? We've got your forest fix without the campground menagerie. Fancy living the farm life for a hot minute? You'll keep company with the sheep, chickens, ducks, and pigs but won't actually have to do the morning chores. Our farm is 39 acres of orchard, pasture, gardens and rewilding forest, . We're raising food AND making space for wildlife and nature to thrive. Campsites are all private forest hideaways with wood-chip pads and redwood furniture. We like to think of it as Four Seasons camping: more stars, more nature, but a bit less room service. And if pitching a tent is pinching your style, we've got you covered with a couple of tent-furnished sites too. Explore our trails, peep at the animals, find your zen in a forest bath. Please remember to close the gates behind you, and observe local fire restrictions. And please pack out your trash and leave your campsite looking tidy for the next guest. Need more info? Romantic Forest Hide-a-Way

2 sites · Lodging40 acres · White Salmon, WA
💥❣️💥Thrilling Delights of Amazing Starlit Nights (5/10 - 5/14*) 💥❣️💥 Largely constructed from materials lovingly and gently harvested on-site, the Yurt at Rivendell is a sanctuary of peace and serenity. A place for rejuvenation and inspiration. The yurt began as a rustic structure utilizing lumber from trees selectively harvested to protect the health of the forest. But, the more Roy worked on the Yurt the more it spoke to him letting him know how to proceed and what it should become -- resulting in this phenomenally peaceful and stress-free wilderness sanctuary where the sun, the moon and the stars wink at you through the gentle undulations of the 100-year-old Douglas Firs Trees or through the ambient ether of the adjoining meadows. Our property is located 1hr and 30 minutes from Mt Hood in Oregon. We are located in White Salmon, Washington. There are enough things to do in White Salmon, including hiking trails, biking trails, white water rafting, waterfalls, and paddling spots to keep you entertained for a weekend, week, or lifetime! NOTE: While we do accept Instant Bookings for both our Tree House and Yurt there may very rarely be a conflict with a booking received earlier from another site when the HipCamp calendar has not been updated to reflect that booking. In that case, we default to the earliest booking and work with the guest to see if there are other dates which will work. *Meteorologists project possible visible Northern Lights through May 14, 2024
