The lands include a number of geographic features including the Kettle River, upper reach of the Columbia River and the Selkirk mountain range, which is considered to be at the foothills of the Rockies.
Residents (including several Native American tribes) and visitors enjoy camping, nearly 500 miles of hiking trails, mountain biking, lakes, rivers and some too legit to quit wildlife including grizzly bears, cougars, bald eagles and the last remaining herd of caribou in the US. That was almost starting to sound like an indie music festival lineup! Did we mention it’s an inspiring place? So much so that close to a million smackeroos was recently rewarded for continued restoration projects.

We're nestled in the pines, just off the highway. Our property is on a deeded piece of land within the Spokane Indian Reservation. We are 5 miles from Lake Roosevelt and the Fort Spokane boat launch. Lake Roosevelt is known for its excellent fishing, and is the only lake in Washington state that contains walleye! A small motel was built on this property back in 1998 and is consistently complemented on it's clean rooms and peaceful setting. Our RV camp is rustic & peaceful with only natural vegetation (no pads), and each spot provides FULL hookups. Be prepared to level your rig. We invite you to come and experience all that Eastern Washington has to offer! Park your rig, set up your table and BBQ, and just relax. This is 14 acres of private, undeveloped forest land at the base of Bald Mountain in northeastern Washington. No water, no toilet, no electricity—just trees, creeks, and whatever the heck you need to work out with nature.
There are no designated campsites. You’ll choose your own spot—flat, forested, tucked-away, or by the seasonal creek. Some areas are cut away just enough to help keep the ticks out of your underwear (you’re welcome), but this is still very much wild land.
You’ll find:
• Towering evergreens
• Snowberries, serviceberries, and wild grasses. Moss covered rocks and perhaps a spot we have yet to discover.
• Mosquitoes (don’t say we didn’t warn you)
• A whole lot of space to wander, both literally and figuratively
This site is best suited for tent campers, car campers, backpackers, and solitude seekers. Artists, writers, and wandering weirdos are especially welcome.
Trailers UNDER 22 feet only. Because of the primitive terrain we are not set up for anything over 22 feet. Please do NOT BRING anything larger. We truly appreciate it.
Camper vans would do well at Primitive Acres.
The land is remote, about 30 minutes from Spokane and 10 minutes from Loon Lake, and you likely won’t see another soul—but there are neighboring parcels nearby, each about 20 acres in size. You’ll feel alone, but not abandoned.
No generators, no parties, no pets off leash.
Pack it in, pack it out. No fires unless permitted.
This isn’t a resort, but it’s definitely a reset.
Come prepared. Come curious. Come undone, if you need to.
WARNING: wild animals do roam through here. We ask that you watch your pets and keep them on leash for their safety. The neighbors also have a friendly old dog who likes to wander.

Fort Spokane or Two Rivers to the South with a marina, dock fuel, convenience store, Chuck Wagon and Fort Spokane Restaurant's. To the North is Hunters boat launch, Grocery, Cafe, and Bar and Grill. The Bar and Grill has live music most summer weekends. Fruitland, a few miles closer, offers the Fruitland Winery, also with live music some weekends, and the smallest Market with the most supplies from fuel and food to marine and auto parts.

Our stay at the winery was amazing! Staff was very welcoming and the owners take great pride in their land, I was in absolute awe of their garden and beautiful sunflowers! The wine tasting was phenomenal and we truly enjoyed the homemade dip the owners make. Definitely plan on coming back.

Camping beside the fruit trees and grape vines was magical. The hosts are a lively couple who have put their heart and soul into their property. Time beside the river was nice and cool during the heat of the day. Expect to be self contained if you are camping.

The day we showed up to camp was the same day there were level 3 fire evacuations.
The site was magical until then. Fearful we left at night and slept in our car the next town over. During the day when winds were down we enjoyed the spot thoroughly.

We were super happy to have found Native Pines! We had been boondocking our way through Washington but, when temps approached 100F, we decided we needed some A/C and a breather.
While all the sites are 30amp only, it was still sufficient for keeping our big rig cool enough, and we were happy to have sewer to be able to do some laundry. The sites are nestled into a pocket in the woods behind (but out of site of) a motel. Our 44' fifth wheel had plenty of room to maneuver within the property as well as fit into one of the back-in sites. It was peaceful and within a 7 minute drive to a beautiful, riverfront park (Roosevelt National Rec Area on the Columbia River) where we did some paddleboarding. And, you can't beat the rate of $35! Thank you John and Michelle!

We had a wonderful time camping at the winery, we were able to tent camp right on the water and got to have it all to ourselves. The winery manager Alan was so helpful and made the trip that much better. It was a great 3 days of relaxing, reading and exploring, we will definitely be going back

We camped at Native Pines for two nights over the 4th of July, and even then it was peaceful and quiet. We prefer to stay in campgrounds with few sites for that very reason. All the camp sites, arranged in a circle, were visible to us, but many of the other guests were gone during the day, returning in the evening. We had a great time there.

We enjoyed our time camping here! The views of the Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge and Deer Lake were great. Our doggies enjoyed exploring. We did do a trip to Deer Lake Resort for swimming as they have day passes available. Do bring bug repellent as the proximity to the marsh and lake bring quite a few mosquitoes but it was manageable.

It was so peaceful. You really have to slow down when you get there. Nothing is rushed, even conversation. Such a peaceful beautiful place, took me back growing up with the hippies in the 70's. Cannot say enough about this place. The wines, the foods, the hosts, so wonderful.

Host Michael was very friendly and helpful texting. The road by the lake to the site is very narrow especially pulling an RV, so go slow! Rv peeps be aware! We pulled up the hill and through the gate with our big GMC 3500 and down into the site with our 22 ft trailer and couldn’t turn around. We had to back out down hill and turn around at the bottom and back quite a ways up hill into the site. Back up the hill with a trailer is a must!! Overall our experience was very good and would come back. Great views and lots of wildlife viewing. The site is also very private. Bring plenty of mosquito repellent .Plenty of room for multiple tents. Two trailers with big trucks would be pushing it.

This location felt private and we enjoyed our time. The well was ice cold and was very accommodating to keep the kids and pup cool. We appreciate the open space to accommodate activities. We recommend a canopy or some form of sun protections aside from sunscreen and tick repellant if in season.

We loved this camping spot, it felt secluded and the view was gorgeous. We had some troubles finding the spot and Michael was so helpful and friendly in helping with directions or whatever questions we had! Our dogs loved this spot and had lots of fun running around! Definitely would recommend and will be coming back!
