Hipcampers that stay at Island Base Camp will find themselves in a large grassy spot surrounded by evergreens and maple trees. Within 15 minutes are 3 places to launch boats, kayaks, etc., along with some beach access trails. Many hiking opportunities in the area. Berry picking and fresh apples in the summer on the property. If you are lucky, you will be greeted (and possibly herded) at some point by 2 friendly aussies that roam freely. Ducks and cats also live here. Saturday's 10-noon is a community Farmer's market at the island's community center. Don't miss Daisy Hill's cinnamon rolls, get there early. Shelton has many many activities and events going on all summer such as Oyster Fest, logging show, car shows, farmers markets, dalia and lavender farms, races at the Ridge motorsport, Vance Creek Railriders, also, on the island you can tour the wildcat sanctuary. Lots of hiking nearby, motorcycle track, drag strip and drift car track. Or just relax with the birds, deer, eagles, ducks, geese, rabbits, neighboring cows, beavers and otters that pass through now and then.
You have acres to enjoy! Like your own mini campground. Half of our acreage is across the river-summertime is a great time to cross and explore! You can even walk up river and tube down.
1,000 feet of riverfront, a pond, charcoal grill, and 3 different fire pits for you to explore. If you rent the trailer and are over 6'1 you wont be a happy camper! You will enjoy bugs, snakes, spiders, deer, otters, beavers, mice, bees, and maybe the neighbors cows.
We live on the neighboring property, but respect your privacy.

The lands of Camp MoxyJo's were such fun from vintage glamping trailers and camper vans to multiple kitsch-filled common areas for communal cooking, play & hanging out. Having grown up in the 1960s, I felt I was immersed in joyful memories of my young adulthood everywhere I walked on the Camp MoxyJo's grounds. My young grandchildren loved roaming the campground, feeding the goats, and being introduced to the art of darts--intergenerational memory making.

We had a wonderful stay in the trailer! It was comfortable, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The place is actually much bigger than it looks in the photos, which was a great surprise. The amenities were excellent, and our kids especially loved feeding the goats — such a fun and memorable experience for them. Joanna was super responsive and made everything smooth from start to finish. Everything was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully arranged, which made our stay so easy and enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this place, especially for families with children.

A quiet and well-appointed place for some time alone. I was looking for somewhere to unwind away from a computer screen and to get some writing and thinking done; this was exactly what I wanted. There's a hammock and a good table for writing in the camper. I slept well and ate well and got some really good work done. I wish I could have stayed a third night.

What a lovely weekend I had at Tyler's adorable vintage trailer. Nestled in the deep forest of Harstine Island, it feels a million miles away from civilization and yet you have all the comforts and amenities of home. The trailer is very comfortable, the porta poty was clean and actually smells good and the outdoor shower is incredible; Tyler has created a truly special retreat. I had a great time exploring the island and will definitely be a return camper!

Joanna’s place was so amazing! We loved the whole vibe and the camper was so unique! It even has a cute little bunk for kids with a back door for them to crawl in and out of. Staying in Tyler’s vintage camper was a dream! We had a great time making meals with the little stove, sitting by the fire, chilling in the hammock, and making trips to nearby beaches. A very cute, cozy, and clean stay! Angie was very accommodating and the all amenities were very clean and tidy. Love the vintage vibe of the trailer and lots of land for our dog to stretch his legs on. Located on the owner's property but very private. Separate outdoor toilet which was incredibly clean, rustic outdoor space equipped with seating, BBQ etc. My only suggestion is to use fragrance-free detergent on the linens (it was very strong but indicated they were very clean!). Upon arriving, we met Jo, the operator and owner! She is so helpful, fully engaged, and kind.
The property is quite big with so many fun and creative touches. Like the hand paint wall, little fruit garden, a tiki room, an outdoor living room/kitchen, and The Pit Stop which is an outdoor kitchette, self help station, and on the back side has two bathrooms- one complete with a walk in shower. The bathrooms and spaces outside of your camper is shared among other campers.
We rented the family camper- The Coastal for our family of 5. Two adults, twin 12 yr olds, and our 7 yr old. We brought our tent and sleeping bags for the twins to sleep in outside. Each area has a shelter over it to keep elements off of you. Each area also has an outdoor seating area and tables. I'm glad we brought the tent, bc it gave us the extended space we needed. There was also electricity and running water inside the camper. Jo also has tons of bedding, soaps, & towels for you!
Jo was very kind to allow my boys to invade her garage that had so many arts and crafts. Each of my kids said besides the goats, their favorite thing was the paint wall and the calligraphy garage!
The only cons were the neighbors dog barking throughout the day, but thats not something that is Jo's fault. We did come during 4th of July, so surrounding neighbors were shooting off fireworks well after midnight.
