Here on the ranch we provide room for campers with Tents, RV's, remote Hillside Camping and a Cozy Bunkhouse Room. You will find the ranch peaceful and serene. Our garden/event area is prefect for children to play or gathering for a visit. There's firewood available which you may purchase here on the HipCamp site. There are plenty of animals to love. We have horses to brush, ride and feed. You may also see a dog, cat and free-range chickens. Did I happen to mention that we have a pet pig? Yes, Miss Piggy!! Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R& as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep camp as a single site, largeer groups are given preference. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area near the house with an electrical outlet and a Flexzilla water hose, so bring containers. We have really nice firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games, hammocks, etc., available for rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild, so bring your tromping shoes. Birdsong comes early here, and the night is filled with the sounds of crickets. No city lights, so the stargazing is wonderful. The goats are gentle, curious, and deep body scratch lovers. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground, and is just a five-minute drive from camp. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet-in-the-middle location. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. We are Judy and Summer and Chula, mother and daughter and dog, and we are pleased you are considering a stay with us. Relatives' Land is an opportunity for Delphine, who currently owns the property and all of us visiting, to enjoy the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest and learn about the amazing bio-diversity of the area. On the land you will find some flat, prairie land that are used for gardening and chicken raising. There is also an old orchard with 15 plus apple and pear trees. Campers are welcome to harvest apples and pears in the fall when they are in season! Half of the land, 2.5 acres is a forest of pine and alder trees which hosts incredible wild life: a family of fox, Northwest bats, Northern Pygmy owls, Spotted owls, Northern flickers, Pileated woodpeckers, red ants, deer, elk, rabbits, snakes, mice and million more insects and birds. The land also has an incredible variety of mushrooms, mostly non-edible though, and ferns and mosses.

This was an absolutely wonderful place to camp with dogs. We had six dogs among three people and had such a wonderful time on this property! The dogs were safe and entertained and had plenty of space to run and explore and play. We were able to go and enjoy the visiting goats and the ducks and the chickens. Sarah and her partner were super wonderful and welcoming, and we had a great time renting some of the games they had available.

We had the best time at Summers Pleasant places! Three of us and six dogs, the mostly fenced in property and being away from the road created such a relaxing and stress-free few days. This was such a convenient location, close to convenience stores but having the whole back area of the property felt very private. We didn’t mind the farm animal noises or the other regular rural sounds. It didn’t bother us at all. Visiting with the chickens, and goats was definitely a highlight as well. The kitchen sink and counter space was incredibly helpful and well designed! It was so nice to not have to bring all of that extra gear. We loved being about to have a fire to cook over and cozy up to at night. Summer was very communicative and hospitable, answering all of our questions and accommodating us at her place on such short notice. We can’t wait to come back so the dogs can run free in the field again!

Great base camp for us to explore Mt Rainier NP. Nice, clean set up. flat spot, private, full hookup and Diane couldn’t have been nicer. Really enjoyed the trip and our stay. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

We just had our family reunion here & it was perfect! Very nice & level play area that had a volleyball net already up & it accommodated our Badminton, Corn hole, croquet, bocce ball amongst others. The kids loved running around playing Light Up sq Lazer tag at night too. Several cubby areas that worked for tents, we also had 2 RV’s & a Sprinter and room for all our cars/trucks. The kitchen area was bigger & better than expected & 2 picnic tables for us to play games as well. We all congregated around our RV spot at night for campfire (fire ring since fire ban) & fellowship. We were all up very late, it was so nice not having a curfew! They let us enjoy their goats, which the kids absolutely loved! The property is fenced & gated so we could let our dogs off leash with so much room for them to roam & explore. They had an outhouse too. The property is easy to get to & not far off of I-5, but you feel like you’re secluded in the woods! It’s perfect We all can’t wait to come back!

This is an amazing place! The host is lovely, the campsite is beautiful, and the tree tent is a lot of fun. The site is surrounded by forest, and it has a lot of nice personal touches, like freshly picked flowers, that make it feel extra special. It's a quiet, peaceful spot. I definitely recommend staying here!

This spot is as good a place as Delphine is a host (which is really good). I loved staying here - the childlike fun and wonder of a tree tent; Thumper, the dog; the beautiful land. Highly recommend opting for the home cooked meal, as Delphine is an amazing cook. I hope to return, and I highly recommend!

This was our second visit to Pleasant Places, and it was just as great in a little rain this year as it was in the summer heat last year. The kids had a blast exploring in a safe, open area where we never had to worry about traffic or open water, which made it especially stress-free for parents of young kids. The host was so friendly and welcoming, and water was readily available for washing hands and dishes, which made camping easy and comfortable. There’s plenty of space for tents and endless room for field games, giving the kids hours of fun. Ike Kinswa State Park is nearby and worth the short drive for a safe, fun swim day. The property is peaceful, well-kept, and inviting. I recommend bringing battery-powered string lights for around the main camp area—they add a cozy glow in the evenings. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already looking forward to our next trip back!

5 nights at Pleasant Places

I have a large group consisting of 4 families that have been struggling to find camping places that are big enough to spread out and feel like we're not on top of others camping at the same place. Standard campsites are too cramped and you never feel like you got to enjoy nature and the beautiful world around us, but rather only the others campers who are way too close! That is where Pleasant Places comes in clutch! Our group absolutely loved it! Plenty of space and the amenities that Summer provides made it an easy week of camping. An open field in the middle allowed for children to play and since we are so secluded we didn't have to worry about being too noisy to others around us. I would 100% recommend this place to others. Awesome location. Can place tents/campers in between tree to keep them shady so they don't get too hot. Summer had a hose for us to get water from so we didn't have to keep running to the store. Seriously, check out this place! Unless it's the last week of July since that is when we plan to return. lol Great Spot!

This was our first hipcamp and WOW it was great!!! very quite. Perfect Host. great spot between Mt. Rainer and Mt Saint Helens. we have a 47' toyhauler. yes it was tight coming in and backing out of the site but once settled it was a very large site.

We had a wonderful stay at Pleasant Places! We had 10 adults, two kids, and a couple of dogs, and there was plenty of space for all of our tents and equipment! Having our own porta potty was great too. We all enjoyed hanging around the kitchen area/fire pit, and Summer was quick to respond to any questions we had. It was a very peaceful and private location, and we had the best time! We would definitely recommend Pleasant Places for your next group camping trip!

Weekend Trip to The Bunkhouse

Staying at this house felt like stepping into a nature fairytale. Swallows flit through the trees, owls call in the distance, and peaceful trails wind through the woods. Around the house, you’ll find charming little nooks with chairs and tables, perfect for relaxing, reading, or just soaking in the magic. It’s also very accessible from the Portland airport, with a beautiful, scenic drive that sets the tone for the stay. Kim was a fantastic host, warm, thoughtful, and welcoming. We absolutely loved being here. A peaceful retreat full of heart, perfect for nature lovers or anyone looking to recharge. Can’t recommend it enough.

We truly enjoyed Diane’s Rv spot. It was quiet, clean, & easy to pull in for our 4th of July getaway. The spot had everything we were looking for to have a nice easy set up, electrical, water (potable and non potable water), black water hookup as well. The spot had a fire pit and patio area for a nice breakfast with the deer and birds. And we CANNOT FORGET THE GOATS & SHEEP!! They were so friendly. And fun to watch.

We enjoyed our time with Diane quite a bit. Fairly private camping area. Pretty dang level, great utilities and awesome that they have nice local firewood right there on site (as of this trip at least). Would recommend 100%!
