Turn at the aluminum canoe placed on top of a large orange road barrier at the edge of our drive way. The canoe is bolding displaying the word HIPCAMP with a red arrow leading the way. Follow the drive down to the river front campsites.. This is due to a yearly Festival held in Scottsville where Historic river . Smallmouth and catfish are biting. Go by a local store and buy night crawlers,worms and a pack of 2/0 hooks and you will catch something . Firewood available per request and delivered for$30.00 a load. Accessible by car or canoe, East End at Seven Islands provides endless fun for the whole family, including your well behaved off-leash dogs. When you arrive take a cooling dip in a quiet “river pool”, relax on your private beach, or see if the fish are biting. Let your kids experience the best the river has to offer by exploring the shallows for crayfish, chasing minnows, or watching for Bald Eagles patrolling the river. Your site is approximately 2 acres, so you will have your choice of where to pitch a tent or place your camper or trailer. Spend your nights stargazing, enjoying a campfire (remember to bring s’mores ingredients), or fishing for catfish. This is an ideal family-oriented campsite about an hour NW of Richmond. Come, enjoy and make some memories! Children 10 and under are free On the other side of the river you might hear a train passing by at different times, both, day and night. Safety Notice: Not accessible by boat, canoe, or kayak when the James River level is 6 feet or higher at Scottsville. At 7.5 - 8 feet, there is not much beach to play on and the river is too dangerous to navigate. We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well. We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest. Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. I offer Forest Bathing and individual retreat support sessions, an quarterly sweat lodge and also vision quest support if people would like to experience a solo nature immersion feast.

116 acres of forrest, hills and dells. Miles of hiking trails marked and well maintained. A small pond and beautiful labyrinth. Over 50 acres of deep wilderness woods. General Lee and his troops once camped here. But they cleaned up pretty good, so all you can really see is the old spring and wagon road. This is a working herb and small fruit farm. We have been experimenting with all kinds of exotic herbs and trees. Some make it, many don't. We sell dried herb teas. In addition we have 5 different kinds of bamboo. We use the bamboo for so many things. Camptown is our largest site. It features a large fire pit and a circular field that can accomodate 10 to 15 or more tents. You can also park smaller camper vans, teardrops, etc. in this large area. Good for parties, family reunions. The "# person" per site listing considers adults, not children... bring a whole crew of kids (try to have enough supervision - if there is such a concept!) The kids have such a great time out here... it is amazing. They love the labyrinth! By the way, that labryinth entrance is behind the kiosk. It's the largest of it's kind in North America. It seems like we made this place for the kids in ourselves and when actual kids see it they go wild. The last bunch were running and yelping with their picked flowers all round and round in the labyrinth for hours! Also, if you want peace and quiet we have beautiful remote campsites away from all the kids running around the labryinth whooping it up. (sites 4 - 6 - 8 - 9 - 10)

116 acres of forrest, hills and dells. Miles of hiking trails marked and well maintained. A small pond and beautiful labyrinth. Over 50 acres of deep wilderness woods. General Lee and his troops once camped here. But they cleaned up pretty good, so all you can really see is the old spring and wagon road. This is a working herb and small fruit farm. We have been experimenting with all kinds of exotic herbs and trees. Some make it, many don't. We sell dried herb teas. In addition we have 5 different kinds of bamboo. We use the bamboo for so many things. Camptown is our largest site. It features a large fire pit and a circular field that can accomodate 10 to 15 or more tents. You can also park smaller camper vans, teardrops, etc. in this large area. Good for parties, family reunions. The "# person" per site listing considers adults, not children... bring a whole crew of kids (try to have enough supervision - if there is such a concept!) The kids have such a great time out here... it is amazing. They love the labyrinth! By the way, that labryinth entrance is behind the kiosk. It's the largest of it's kind in North America. It seems like we made this place for the kids in ourselves and when actual kids see it they go wild. The last bunch were running and yelping with their picked flowers all round and round in the labyrinth for hours! Also, if you want peace and quiet we have beautiful remote campsites away from all the kids running around the labryinth whooping it up. (sites 4 - 6 - 8 - 9 - 10)

Hello! We're a new working farm located on 45 acres adjacent to the Rhappahannock River. We have a small flock of free range chickens, plus a few goats, ducks, and pigs. There are a few rugged camping spots, and hiking along the creek down to the river. There's a portapotty on site and rainwater available for now (showers and water access coming soon!). Please pack out what you pack in. There are stores within 15 minutes if you need supplies. Please keep your animals on a leash within the ranching and adjacent areas, out in the woods is OK.

Persimmon Patch was very nice with lots of space & privacy. (our campsite was at least acre). The facilities were nice, and the hosts were friendly and went out of thier way to accommodate our needs--they even dewinterized plumbing for us.

The property was very nice for my overnight pit stop and I'm sure it would be enjoyable for a longer stay. I was a little confused of where to go when entering the property but once I found the pond I was comfortable knowing I was in the right place. The 1.5 mile stretch of road off the main road is a little tight if you're full legal width but that is not a reason not to stay here, just a heads up, and no fault of the host.

My partner took me camping for my birthday and he chose the site. The view was spectacular and the hosts were very friendly! There is a really cool train that passes on the other side of the water, and it is so cool to watch. We got a bundle of wood, and it lasted us all weekend. I was on site 2, and the only suggestion I might make is to perhaps make stairs going down to the water level area. I'll be back for sure!

We enjoyed our stay on this property! The archers den campsite felt very private and had plenty of space. We loved the big fire pit with cooking grate.. The three campsites are far enough away from the winery/brewery that you don’t feel like you are camping at public business. Even though they had live music playing and seemed pretty busy we could barely hear anything going on. On the other hand if you wanted to enjoy the festivities it’s just a short walk from the campsites.

Our group loved staying at Archer’s Den at Southern Revere Cellars. We really enjoyed the fact that our spot was hidden away from guests at the tasting barn, but if we wanted to the barn was an easy walk away to try the wine and beer. The fire pit they provide is a really nice touch and communication with the host was easy and timely. The only recommendation we have is to bring in bigger signage for each campsite. We totally missed the small sign/arrow for our campsite so we had to ask the host for the location. Overall great time and we will be back!

Loved the private camp site. You won't get that type of privacy at a typical campground. The grounds are very nicely maintained with many walking trails. The ground at the harvest hill site was very level and perfect for our pop-up. Nearby spot-o-pot was handy. Also great to be able to walk to brew/wine/food/music at the tasting room. Enjoyed both the beer and wine. Highly recommend.

We love camping at Moon & Julie's. This must be our 6th time. The solitude and on site hiking trails are perfect for us. Plus, it's not too far a jaunt to see the local historical areas, scenery, and nearby apple markets etc. You'll have acres to your self. We stay in Persimmon Patch #1 in the open grass area. It gives our dogs space to play and sun on our solar panels to keep things charge. We highly recommend staying at Moon and Julie's Hawthorne Hollar.

The Burton Family farm was a great place to camp for a short weekend. Beautiful fall scenery and very quiet. So much more relaxing and more affordable than camping at an established campground. Tammy and her brother were super kind when we reached out and they helped set us up with a fire pit by the pond. We will add it to our list of great places to camp around Fredericksburg.

Darlene's land was a perfect hip camp. Usually my dogs and I hit the hay at nightfall, but Darlene's camp has an electric pole with a light, a screened tent with a table and chair, and an extra electric plug (recharge phones) - it was private and serene - plus Darlene was a FANTASTIC communicator, who meets you there to show you how the compostable toilet works, where to get firewood, etc. - then leaves you your privacy. Only a small disclaimer for travelers with dogs, IF you have a reactive dog (as one of mine is) there is quite a bit of wildlife noise in the woods. Highly recommend this hipcamp.

I really liked our spot on the hill. The light pollution was very low allowing for a great view of the night sky. In addition, the area has 5G so star gazing apps work well. I enjoyed the beer and red wine offered at the tasting room and the band that played was nice as well. You can buy food to feed the goats at the tasting room.
