116 acres of forrest, hills and dells. Miles of hiking trails marked and well maintained. A small pond and beautiful labyrinth. Over 50 acres of deep wilderness woods. General Lee and his troops once camped here. But they cleaned up pretty good, so all you can really see is the old spring and wagon road. This is a working herb and small fruit farm. We have been experimenting with all kinds of exotic herbs and trees. Some make it, many don't. We sell dried herb teas. In addition we have 5 different kinds of bamboo. We use the bamboo for so many things. Camptown is our largest site. It features a large fire pit and a circular field that can accomodate 10 to 15 or more tents. You can also park smaller camper vans, teardrops, etc. in this large area. Good for parties, family reunions. The "# person" per site listing considers adults, not children... bring a whole crew of kids (try to have enough supervision - if there is such a concept!) The kids have such a great time out here... it is amazing. They love the labyrinth! By the way, that labryinth entrance is behind the kiosk. It's the largest of it's kind in North America. It seems like we made this place for the kids in ourselves and when actual kids see it they go wild. The last bunch were running and yelping with their picked flowers all round and round in the labyrinth for hours! Also, if you want peace and quiet we have beautiful remote campsites away from all the kids running around the labryinth whooping it up. (sites 4 - 6 - 8 - 9 - 10)

Twenty plus years ago, there was an ad in the paper listing ten acres for sale in Old Church. It has always been a special place and so the adventure began... We built the house and ever since, have been adding gardens, paths, trails, benches, swings and generally giving back the love to the land for the pleasure it has provided. As a result, there is wildlife and birds galore. Hummingbirds will delight you as will the tree frogs and lizard frogs at the frog pond canoe. Wander down the path to our first vegetable garden location which is now a prime spot for pitching a tent or just hanging out and watching for deer, turkeys, or turtles. This place was absolutely beautiful. The owner and the property are welcoming in thier respective areas. The pond is beautiful, the animals are beautiful, and the site has more than enough. Bring pillows and blankets, pots and pans, but other than that, you are good to go. Wonderful stay here.

You can tell Donald is passionate about his land. We had an amazing time tent camping at Site 10. The site was extremely neat and tidy. Site 10 is perfect if you want an isolated camping experience. We will return! 4x4 vehicles recommended.

This was my second time coming to Donald's campsite and exploring the trails on the property, so needless to say I love it here. The bamboo cave is so cozy and special, and I so appreciate the firewood and jug of water that Donald provides. Plus, Donald is super communicative, so if you have any issues you'll be taken care of. Also: -There's a trail map at each campsite, so you can explore the property while visiting. -Convenient drive to all kinds of weekend exploring, from Shenandoah, to Lake Anna, to Prince William National Forest and plenty of breweries in between. I will definitely be back!

We had an overall great experience. My family and I very much enjoyed our time there. We had a blast canoeing in the pond, chopping wood, tending to the fire, and walking around the farm. Kevin, the host was a great guy. They run a good camp ground. I would recommend.

Kevin is great, and the whole area is wonderful. The tent is very clean and the campsite is large and accommodating. I was able to kayak on the pond and loved it. I enjoyed spending time with some of the goats and horses, and had an all-around lovely time. I will return!

Kevin’s land was such a gem! The tent was cozy, spotless, and ready to settle right into. There was plenty of firewood—by the end of the weekend I felt like a true lumberjack. Canoeing on the beautiful pond and watching the farm animals was an absolute dream, and our dog had the best time exploring the property. The site feels wonderfully remote and peaceful, but it’s still close enough to a store if you need to grab any essentials. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a mix of nature, comfort, and charm!

This was our first time using Hipcamp and we really enjoyed ourselves. Donald provided all of the firewood and a full 5-gallon cooler of water for us, which was wonderful. The site we were at was definitely tucked in, so we didn’t see anyone else while we were there. You can tell Donald loves his property with all of the detail they put into laying out the sites, trails & the map of his place. Great experience for us as a family of 4 and our 2 dogs! ☺️

Lovely spot and experience for my 4 year old. We felt very safe. The dog was able to roam off leash no problem. The area where you camp is private, large, has a gas grill that worked well (no grill tongs etc) a porta potty (very clean), 5 gallon tub of water, trash can, fire pit with wood, kayaks, canoes and there is enough room to play lawn games. It is private and a bit detached from the main farm but a very short walk (~1 min) up a dirt/gravel road to where the animals are. The farm hands and owner are super friendly and very kind, letting my son help some with the day to day farm work. Well worth the overnight trip and experience for my son. Thank you!

My girlfriend and I absolutely loved it here. The hosts were two of the nicest people I’ve ever met, and gave amazing hospitality. They made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our getaway. The atmosphere here is incredible, and we 100% plan on coming back one day. 10/10 Unforgettable weekend.
