Located less than a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway, this little hayfield is nestled just a skip away from Mabry Mill (the most photographed spot on the parkway), Villa Appalachia (quant Italian style winery), Chateau Morrisette (larger tourist winery), Nancy's Fudge (a little candy factory and shop), and hiking trails of varying lengths with epic views (Black Ridge Trail and Rock Castle Gorge Trail). Each of these is under 5 miles from our camp spot. Yet, if you are also hoping to hop out of your camper and WALK somewhere, there is a hike that leads you directly up to Chateau Morissette. The property itself is a hayfield that typically has a couple of cuttings each summer. There just happens to be a full hook up campsite located at the edge of the property that someone should be enjoying. The property owner (my dad, who is in his mid 70s and doesn't internet so well) lives in a log home that is across the field on the adjacent property. He is probably going to stop by to say hi. Such a nice place well maintained very clean and very close to a lot of interesting towns, shops, and parks. Jodee was very friendly and helpful. Not a difficult drive very close to the interstate. Ciro’s pizza is great.

Beautiful place with great views of the farm fields and mountains beyond. We were there on a terribly windy late Fall day (we were right at the top of the mountain) so we are looking forward to coming back in the Spring when we can enjoy being outside more and roaming the farm.

Weekend Trip to WindSong in the treetops/hot tub

Myself, boyfriend and two pups had the pleasure of staying at the Wind Song yurt this past weekend and it was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t have asked for anything better! The place was stunning, stocked for all needs and a great getaway. Jodee was great at communicating with any questions with incredible timing. I highly recommend checking the place out for a mental check out for the views are spectacular. Thanks for a memorable trip!

We enjoyed our stay with Keri! She was very welcoming and showed us around when we arrived. The tent area is private as it is below the pool. The site is very level as well. Having a shower and bathroom made this the perfect place for us after hiking. The location is beautiful and also quiet. Very convenient to town with a great selection of restaurants and stores, yet convenient to all the great local hiking spots. Keri’s restaurant reco was perfect and we ate there twice 👍 Definitely recommend Keri’s place if you are looking to camp for a few days in this beautiful part of VA.

I came to camp on Tony’s land to specifically view the sunrise on October 25. It was the one month anniversary of losing my son, and I couldn’t have asked for any better way to spend it with him. In my opinion, the best place to view the sunrise is site 104, which is what i snagged. If you’re looking for a place with a view, this is it!

The views are breathtaking! From the fire rings to the Adirondack chairs - the wooden swings at our site - it was all so well taken care of and welcoming. The mushroom trail was adorable. Loved the location as it was close to so many areas to explore. And also the recommendation for local food was excellent. “Dish” was delicious food and atmosphere was great.

The campsite view was absolutely stunning and the proximity to downtown Lewisburg, Fayetteville and New River Gorge made it the perfect camping spot. My boys and I had a great time tent camping at Crooked Mountain. The owners are fantastic, the facilities were clean, the campsite was quiet, the stars were incredible. My boys said they forgot the world and life back home even existed while we were there- 5 star camping experience.
