We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well. We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest. Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. This was my very first Hip Camp, and my first time camping alone! Butterfly Camp was perfect. I felt very safe and I had everything I needed and more! I met Jen at the Farm Store and she was kind enough to take the time to share some info on the farm and Shenandoah. There are very easy trails throughout the land to explore if you want to stay around camp. And of course you’ve got primo access to Shenandoah trails! I’ll definitely recommend this spot to friends. We had such an amazing time at Gypsy Camp! We brought our 2-year-old son, and he absolutely loved every minute of it. Jen went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially for Halloween. We joined her evening spooky walk through the trails, and her entire setup afterward was incredible. She had soup, a charcuterie board, cupcakes, cookies, cider and the most delicious homemade juice! She even invited our son, Callan, to help feed the animals in the morning, which he absolutely loved. Jen truly puts so much thought and care into every detail. She also offers a variety of fun add-ons to make your weekend even more special. The camping spots are nice, well taken care of and very private which we loved because we weren’t sure how our 2 year old would do camping even though he ended up loving it. We highly recommend staying here! you won’t be disappointed!

Darlene's land was a perfect hip camp. Usually my dogs and I hit the hay at nightfall, but Darlene's camp has an electric pole with a light, a screened tent with a table and chair, and an extra electric plug (recharge phones) - it was private and serene - plus Darlene was a FANTASTIC communicator, who meets you there to show you how the compostable toilet works, where to get firewood, etc. - then leaves you your privacy. Only a small disclaimer for travelers with dogs, IF you have a reactive dog (as one of mine is) there is quite a bit of wildlife noise in the woods. Highly recommend this hipcamp.

Our farm store has our AWA meats, plus local items, small grocery and camping essentials.

Jen was a great host! I love her property and how much privacy we had! Great view for the stars at night so beautiful. Definitely booking again! The farm store was definitely a blessing I had forgot a few things and the store had it all! My 2.5 year old daughter loved running around! Very family friendly.

1 acre campsite has a bathhouse with flushing toilet, mini outdoor kitchen, solar outdoor shower, tent pad, table for 8, firepit with grill and horseshoe pit.

We love Jennifer’s farm! This is our third stay, but our first at Birdsong which is a truly amazing camping experience. So much space to yourself, so quiet, and the convenience of a flush toilet and a sink/covered kitchen workspace. Beautiful firepit too. We managed to get to the site in our camper van (Solis, FWD) but not without some curse words, partly because it’s been so dry so the gravel was harder to traverse on the steep incline. But the site description fairly warns about this. Next time, I’ll save this site for our AWD and tent. We’ll definitely be back.

We loved our time camping at Butterfly site on Landon Farm. The directions and information provided up front were excellent and made finding our site a breeze. The site was well maintained and well stocked. The campsites are far apart and allow for complete privacy and a feeling of having the farm to yourself. We hiked several trails on the property which were all well marked and maintained. We were also lucky to have clear skies, so the star gazing was phenomenal at our site. The farm fresh eggs and sausage at the Farm Store are a must try!! Thank you, Jennifer, for sharing a most wonderful place with us!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay on the farm. We were trying to book a last minute camping trip. There were no tent sites available but Apryl accommodated our family in another spot on the property, which we felt was actually really awesome ! We loved the farm and camping amongst the animals. It was like nothing we have ever done before. All of the animals are friendly and accustomed to people. The farm cats were the absolute cutest and often followed us around looking to be held and played with. My daughter was able to milk a cow for the first time, and she thought it was so cool. We even got to try the milk right from the cow, such a cool experience ! All of the kids on the farm were very kind and generous. We liked interacting with them and learning their roles on the farm and each of their stories with the farm animals. We learned a lot from the kids. My daughter did not want to leave this place. Hopefully we will get to visit again soon !

This place is amazing. Scenery of this place is great its like you have a whole lake by yourself. The place is private as the other sites are far enough from you. Place is flat so no issues with placing your tent. I suggest bringing a fishing rod and bait. Will definitely coming back. Highly suggested: YOU MUST READ Mr. Juan's direction in the site to avoid being lost.

Great site with rv hookups and a dump station on the way out. Our three large dogs loved walking to the lake. Paths are well signed and Juan was an excellent host. We jumped a few deer out of the corn on our walks. Lots of horses, cows and other dogs in the area add to the atmosphere.

directions were a little tricky. I would definitely first go to the Lloyd’s address and not click on the directions within the app when driving there. My best recommendation would be to go to the Lloyds address using GPS, then once you get there, use Google maps from the location within the app and use satellite mode to navigate. navigating for me was also made a little bit more challenging as I was towing a trailer. If I wasn’t, it would’ve been no issue doubling back. we had a lovely time with a cool, crisp October evening and morning, quickly warming up to an enjoyable day. Also caught my personal best bass in the little farm pond on a drop shot.
