All of the land on the gravel road in which we live was at one time a large operating farm. The original farmhouse is still present at the end of the gravel road. In recent years the farm land was sub divided. My husband Jacob and I purchased this piece of property 8 years ago. We absolutely love it here and this land is our own slice of paradise. We have 13 acres of private seclusion with a quiet and peaceful creek spot for camping on the back side of our property. We love having a place where we feel we can be away from it all! Also at the same time we are only a short drive away from downtown Lynchburg as well as quick access to route 460. We enjoy that we can get on the river quickly and we frequently take advantage of the beauty of kayaking the James River. Together Jacob and I find tranquility while camping and exploring new places. Welcome to RRF! We are a small ranchette that specializes in sheep, horses, and chickens. Located in Victoria Virginia, the farm is an hour to Richmond, 45 minutes to Farmville, and 45 minutes from John Kerr reservoir (on the boarder of NC). We are pet friendly, and the property is completely fenced. Enjoy free unlicensed fishing on property in our small pond, stocked with catfish and bluegills, or let the pups swim away the summer heat. Enjoy a walk on the nearby Tobacco Trail, fish at one of the many nearby rivers and lakes. Roast marshmallows over a fire and stargaze or catch fireflies all night. All sites have access to a portable compost toilet, and we can provide water for the sun showers. We have tent sites, and an RV site, 420friendly but we do not partake. PLEASE NOTE: No Check In After 9PM! The camp sites are only available with direction of host ( new closer parking area and camp area access gate for 2025!!) Exceptions can be made in an emergency stay. THINGS TO DO IN TOWN: Bike or hike the Tobacco Trail and see the railroad park. Local farmers market and livestock sales- down town. The lake at the VFW- good fishing and lovely strolling paths See the falls or fish and hike at Nottaway Falls. NEAR BY ATTRACTIONS: Swim, relax and enjoy the waterfall at Whittle’s Mill- 35 min drive. John Karr Dam and Reservoir- great sandy swimming beaches. Fishing, hiking and picnic areas. Best place ever! 45 minutes south. . Amenities/ Activities: friendly sheep, goats and horses to pet and feed metal detectors to borrow free fishing and poles provided free fire wood- collect your own or from cut piles laundry for a fee in house pots and pans to cook grill for site upon request free fresh eggs Horse rides available for donation which helps offset feed or veterinary needs. This experience may not be available due to weather or other factors, be sure to talk to us prior to your visit to determine availability and requirements. Your off leash pets must be ok with chickens. We do have an overly excited friendly blue Heeler that roams our farm.

Whisper Creek was founded in 1999. It has been the gathering place for many great friends and camping adventures. WC can hardly be camping, more like Glamping! This is a very private and quiet location. You can settle in knowing that this listing includes a covered picnic area. Which has counter space for food prep and cooking that includes a small sink. But remember, it’s camping so you’ll need to come prepared with a camp stove for cooking, although I do have charcoal and propane grill’s at the picnic area. Fire pit for awesome evening camp fires with free split firewood on hand. All I ask is that you burn it like you split and stacked it. You can gather and relax under the covered picnic area for dinner preparation and/or lounging. We are located within an hour from Wintergreen, numerous wineries, craft beer locations and numerous hiking destinations. Harmony Hut has fresh linens but please bring sleeping bags and/or sheets for the screened in bunkhouse. River access to the James River is a short drive to Howardsville. There you will also find a General Store which offers you the basics, such as Beer, Wine, Ice and a few grocery items. They make the best homemade sandwiches and grilled burgers. Direct river access can be provided via special request. I can also provide shuttling services. But this needs to be mentioned well before your stay as I don't live up there year around.

There is also ample space for setting up a tent outside of the tiny house and some campers have even managed to pull a small 8x10 trailer into the campsite. Take advantage of access to a private fire pit during your stay. There is also a stove in the cabin to keep you warm. The outhouse features a pit toilet. Additional details to note Early check-in or late checkout can be managed on a case by case note, depending on whether or not the campsite has other reservations. Pets are allowed. The property is a working farm, so please respect the animals and those who are working and be sure to close the gate behind you if you opened it. There is no kitchen in the tiny home, but some minimal and random cookware is provided, along with a small camping stove, if you would like to bring your own camping stoves. Running water is not available in the cabin. The Host will provide five gallons of water for you and can always refill up at the farm, but feel free to bring additional water with you as well. There is no WiFi, but there is good cell service for all carriers.

Lacie and her family were extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The tent campsites felt super private, the land is beautiful. They provided us with treats to feed the horses, they keep fishing and cooking equipment in their barn for you to use. They even hooked us up with some cooking oil when we forgot ours. Only minutes from town but you feel like you're worlds away out there. They sent us off with a fresh dozen eggs and smiles. We had an amazing time and will absolutely be back.

The tiny home was so well equipped and cozy. Clinton was communicative and kind, and even cranked up the generator when we arrived later than intended after a hike. The directions were clear and helpful upon arrival and we had a really special time. Really enjoyed our weekend here! The campsite was spacious, private, and quiet, so you feel secluded even though you’re only about a 10-min drive to amenities, including a good grocery option. The tiny cabin is extremely clean/well cared for. We didn’t end up using it much as we set up tents to sleep in, but it was great for storing food and having a back-up bed option. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely place to camp! We had a great time, and our dog really loved being off leash throughout our stay. Me and my husband appreciated having an outhouse and camp shower too. But something to consider is the walk from car to campsite, which could be difficult for some people. There are destinations nearby to fish, hike, swim and sightsee. The hosts, Lacie and Doug, are sweet and helpful. We were given black walnuts, muscadine grapes and wild oranges that all grow on their land. So cool to see that. Overall, we had a great time!

Beautiful view! This campsite was very easy to get to and had lots of very cool things to do in a close vicinity. Blue Mountain Barrel House and Saunders Farm Market are both within 5ish min and are great! The owner was super friendly and greeted us when we got there! The campsite was really well maintained and had chairs, a fire ring, and a grill for us to use. Would definitely recommend!

Lacie and Doug were the kindest people I have come across in a long time. They cared about my comfort level and were extremely accommodating. They have such a beautiful relationship with their animals. There are a lot of camp sites to choose from and their house has an authentic farm feel. The French toast was delicious. They made it easy to check in and out. I would HIGHLY recommend this experience. I can’t say enough positive things about this family. They have a wonderful son who was very helpful.
