The Guinea Farm, Field, and Forest

The Guinea farm is 18 acres of feild and forest on the rural middle pennensula. Only 1 mile from 2 separate secluded beaches and a boat launch. There is verly little traffic or light polution here, nature is at your fingertips. 

Come visit the farm and experience agrotourism at it's finest. Pick your own veggies in the community garden and meet the Guinea fowl! Enjoy the windernes and learn about the local ecosystem here on the middle pennensula.  

 

There are 3 sites spaced out across the 18 acres set apart for privacy. Wisteria is a primative site closer to the entrance gate. Trilogy is a suspended tree tent in the pines 700' beyond that and seperated by dense forest. Stargazer Tiny cabin is an offgrid rustic camping cabin on the back side of the property. 

Each site is surronded by several acres of forest and close to the edge of a large feild. There are romaing guinea fowl that may come make a very loud appearance as they canvas the property eating bugs. Deer, Turkeys, Bald Eagles, foxes, and other wildlife are common guests also. Mid-summer is what I call frog season, Tree frogs are abundant and provide a wonderful soundtrack. 

There are free to use bicycles, an axe throwing board, and cornhole boards available. 

4 miles from shopping and dining in Mathews Virginia, 15 miles to Gwynn Island. Gwynn's Island is an island located in the Chesapeake Bay off of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The island is located in the northeast part of Mathews County, south of the mouth of the Piankatank River. It is connected to the rest of the county by a swing bridge over Milford Haven.

Gee Haven

This property offers a calm and relaxing trip to enjoy a unique experience. At this location, we have bird and squirrel feeders to watch the wildlife. We also have a fire pit to enjoy a nice fire and watch the stars at night. Down the road, you can enjoy the view of the river or visit historical Fort Nonsense park. In addition, Beaverdam park is about 15 minutes from our location and has trails, fishing, kayaking, etc. We are about 45 minutes away from amusement park Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. There are many, many activities to enjoy nearby.

A small landing used by commercial fishermen, featuring several of the iconic Chesapeake Bay wooden deadrise work boats.

Offering a limited number of level, private, grassy, campsites as a home base for your coastal Virginia adventures. 

All sites are direct waterfront. 

Pit toilet, potable water, and outdoor shower available on site.

2 sites are unimproved and offer no water, electric, or sewer.

2 sites offer 30amp electric and potable water hook ups.

A gravel boat ramp is adjacent to this property and is suitable for launching boats up to 28'. There are multiple sites on the property that are suitable for launching canoes, kayaks, and other small boats. You may berth your boat at our private dock. A full service marina is located 1 mile away, via either water or land.

Situated in a quiet and peaceful rural setting, the Severn River is a boater's and sportsman's paradise offering excellent fishing for the angler. Diverse waters for both the powerboater and the sailor. Clean beaches and water for swimming and tubing. Miles of pristine shoreline for the kayaker to explore. And expansive wetlands for the waterfowl hunter. Or venture further into the Mobjack and Chesapeake Bay with easy access from this site.

The property is located near the end of a lightly traveled (dead end) road for safe bicycling and walking. 

Large grass area for field games.  Fishing and crabbing at our private dock. Fantastic sunrises, sunsets, and moonlight shimering on the water.

If you are fortunate enough to be here when the waterman return to the dock with their fresh catch of crabs or oysters--- they just might sell you some right off of the boat! Nothing is better than a truly fresh meal of Chesapeake Bay seafood, and the harvest that lands at our docks is world class.

Conveniently located 15 minutes from Yorktown, VA. which offers many historic and modern attractions, including an excellent white sand swimming beach.

35 minutes from Williamsburg, Va. with it's many historic attractions and visitor amenities. 

35 minutes from Busch Gardens and Water Country theme parks, and 1 hr from King's Dominion theme park.

Be aware that this is a working waterfront, and as such you should expect very early activity and noise as commercial fisherman head out in pursuit of their days catch.

Situated in an area of coastal salt marsh which can become "buggy" when the wind is still. Have insect repellent available. 

Host is a seasoned camper and regularly boondocks in a camper van.

Shine & Rise Magic Food Forest

Our farm started as a soy field and has since exploded into a biodiverse forest of fruit and nut trees, vegetables, mushrooms, and more. The land is designed to mimic the strengths of a natural ecosystem so we plant to replicate the forest edge... except everything is edible. Think Willy Wonka's factory but with plants:)

Nature is pretty comfortable with us and interactions with deer, fox, and birds are a common occurrence. 

Gratitude at the Mill Pond

In 1831 formerly Northern's Mill had an old mill house, dwelling house, outbuildings, mill pond and water courses with about 31 acres and was bought for an enormous amount of
$10.00!

At the working mill the owner's wife baked pies for the workers to enjoy
while they waited for their ground grains (most likely corn, soybeans and wheat).

The pond is also recognized as
Courtney Mill Pond and Kissinger Mill Pond.
 Fires in the 1980's have claimed the building creating a perfect place for you to enjoy nature outside.

Fresh and salt water surrounds a birding, fishing paradise with 5 acres to explore. Bald Eagles are a common siting.&nbsp;We offer a primitive camping experience in the heart of the Northern Neck.&nbsp; The road is washed out and fresh water pond mostly drained.  You will access from Mundy Point Road. This&nbsp;historical site had a working Mill built in the early&nbsp;1800's. Please check out my friend's place nearby at Callao Brewery and Rivah Vineyards at the Grove!&nbsp; Grab some fresh local veggies from one of the Amish stands and don't forget your tackle and bait at RW's.

Camp 1 has the most room for car camping and groups close to the road and overlooking the pond.

Camp 2 is a short hike to a private knoll overlooking the grassy marsh of Mill Creek, this is tidal water that flows to the&nbsp;Potomac.

Peace Hill Farm

Peace Hill Farm is a working family farm with home-produced meat, crops, and wool: we raise Angora goats, Leicester Longwool and Merino sheep, miniature Holstein cows, draft horses, Mangalitsa pigs, ducks, and chickens.

We sell raw fleeces, rovings, and a whole range of colorful farm-produced yarns. In the summer, we have pick-your-own orchard fruits. Our farm store carries a full range of farm products plus selected arts and crafts made by local artisans. We offer afternoon teas and dinners along with a full range of hand-selected wines. Farm tours run year-round.

Next door to the winery and on a small creek.

Sleigh Hill Farm

This farm currently has 3 sites [soon to be 4] (see below for site details and selection).  Be sure you know WHICH site you are booking.  Option #1 is a glamp tent with queen bed on a lake, Option #2 is bring your own tent and set up in a beautiful location on the farm,  Option #3 enjoying a two-person tent on a large deck overlooking a creek (with large stone patio and fire pit). Cornerstone Farm

If you are looking for a secluded, quiet camping experience, these remote sites are exactly what you are looking for. Located on over 100 acres of forest and working farm. Just down the road from historic Smithfield, Surry, Jamestown, and a ferry across to Williamsburg. Enjoy the peaceful quiet of camping on the farm. The wild blackberries are coming into season and the nightly fire fly show is amazing. Tons of sunflowers and other wildflowers have been planted and will be in full bloom during July/August.

Pine Meadows Primitive Campground

We invite you to come commune with nature at Pine Meadows primitive Campground. Nestled in a rural setting and ready for you to enjoy the Comforts of country life. The property is located within minutes access to multiple beaches, nature preserves, kayak trails and boat ramps that lead access to the Chesapeake bay, Mobjack Bay and it's tributaries. Bring your bike and tour the back roads of our beautiful historic community . We offer four tent sites with picnic table and fire ring. We also offer car camping/van life sites. Clean and comfortable shared porta potty. We do not offer electricity or water at this time. We offer kids and adult kayak rentals as well. 
So come on out to the country and count the Stars under an unpolluted night sky with breathtaking views of the Milky Way.

Oliver Farm

Tucked away on a historic homestead dating back to the early 1790s, Oliver Farm is a hidden gem for those seeking peace & privacy, Nestled in the far corner of the farm is our secluded little campground and offers a quiet retreat from the modern world—where the only sounds are rustling leaves, birdsong, rooster crows and the crackle of your campfire. Just a short drive from some of the most breathtaking scenery known to man, you'll find yourself surrounded by nature’s finest landscapes, yet comforted by the canopy of its own little forest. Whether you’re here to unplug, explore, or simply breathe, Oliver Farm invites you to slow down and stay a while

   We have enjoyed many summer nights and weekends here with family and friends as well as a great spot for guests to relax when in town visiting, NOW its your turn. Available as a camper rental, tent site or RV hook-up.

Pets allowed- Must be leashed at ALL times or bring your own lead to allow them to relax in the shade while you sit and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. No need for alarm clocks here....as The early bird gets the worm on the property,  so be prepared for a few early morning rooster crows.

Carolzy’s Secret Gardens

Twenty plus years ago, there was an ad in the paper listing ten acres for sale in Old Church. It has always been a special place and so the adventure began... We built the house and ever since, have been adding gardens, paths, trails, benches, swings and generally giving back the love to the land for the pleasure it has provided. As a result, there is wildlife and birds galore. Hummingbirds will delight you as will the tree frogs and lizard frogs at the frog pond canoe. Wander down the path to our first vegetable garden location which is now a prime spot for pitching a tent or just hanging out and watching for deer, turkeys, or turtles. Depending on the season, you can enjoy blooming azaleas, coneflowers, crepe myrtles or zinnias. This is a super woodland that will give you every opportunity to relax and wonder at the beauty of nature. The RV site is close to the house and we will be right here should you need us.
