This is a smoke free facility. NO SMOKING indoors or outdoors!!!
-This glamping site is unfortunately NOT adequate for handicap accessibility, as it is on a slope with steps and some uneven ground. It is also not suitable for long vehicles, such as towing big trailers, or RVs/campers. Single cars, trucks, vans or SUVs only, at a 2 vehicle maximum, please.
-No disruptive behavior, such as loud music, big parties, heavy drinking, or use of substances. This is a quiet, rustic retreat on a family farm designed to reconnect with nature and find peace.
-No littering
-Do not feed the wildlife OR the farm animals (except if participating in provided petting zoo)
-Never let pets off leash. Tie out is provided near the dome.

- On the farm: Nature trails, animal feeding experience, telescope rental, canoe rental (for lake 40 minutes away). Seasonal produce picking.
-Nearby: Gentry Creek Falls, Wataugua Lake, Damascus VA and the Creeper Trail, Doe Mountain Recreation, Skydiving, Fishing & hunting, horseback riding, local eateries and coffee shops....the list goes on!
You may wish to interact with our farm menagerie during your stay. We have supplied a self-service animal feed dispenser by the "barnyard" sign, just beside our tiny house. Feel free to come down between 9AM-8PM to give chickens, geese, ducks, and possibly the goats some treats. NO PETS ALLOWED TO BE WITH YOU WHEN YOU FEED THE ANIMALS, please! Feed is available by donation.
Note: Only feed the provided treats, do not feed anything else! Please do not exceed two refills per person! Be aware that animals can bite, kick, scratch, bonk, and poo. You are your own responsibility when interacting with the animals!
----CHECK-IN INSTRUCTIONS----
-Drive up to our farm gate and TAKE THE GUEST FOLDER from the box, clearly marked. Don't mind the barking of our big white livestock guardian dogs from within the nearby pastures, they are just doing their job. Open the gate and CLOSE IT behind you, please :)
-Follow driveway up to the top of the hill. Please do not allow any pets out of your vehicle down at our farmyard. Be careful as you pass through this area as we do have children and livestock possibly crossing the road.
-Park wherever you feel your vehicle can best manage the sloped driveway.
-Open the dome's zipper door and let it air out. Follow the guest folder's instructions for further climate control needs.
There will be most of the information you need in the guest folder, as well as in pamphlets and notes around the site. You can also contact us at any time, but the WIFI is sometimes spotty, so it may be necessary to come knock on our door for additional inquiries. (Don't be shy! While we will not invade your privacy, we always enjoy meeting our guests, and will gladly help any way we can).

Numerous large manicured campsites in an open space DIRECTLY ON THE NEW RIVER where adventures abound! Up to 4 guests and 2 tents per site.
Newly constructed tiny home provides GLAMPING at its finest! The Liberty cabin shares a space with a few tent sites along the river. With the addition of Liberty, I have limited the number of campers to 4. (Exceptions may be made for holiday weekends). There is plenty of space for everyone and the cabin sits above the tent sites for amazing views and privacy.
While HWY 16 can be a bit noisy during busy times, step into the campsites and let the peaceful noise-canceling river serenity whisk you away. Forest views across the river with endless fireflies and stars that light up the night!
Zaloo's Canoes, Kayak, and Tubes is within eyesight and will set you up with an amazing float or paddle down river. Plentiful small mouth bass and trout fishing just steps from your site. Outhouse w/washing station. Fire pits at each site as well as a large communal fire pit and picnic tables.
Downtown West Jefferson is just 15 minutes away with local breweries, quaint restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, shopping, music, art, and a wonderful farmer's market from May - October.
The quaint little town of Lansing, NC is quickly becoming a favorite stop of mine. Check out the Old Orchard Creek General Store, Pie on the Mountain Pizza, the Old Orchard Creek Blueberry Farm, and Molly Chomper for a perfect day in Ashe County.
The New River State Park is an easy walk, float, paddle or drive away. This park is absolutely GORGEOUS and impeccably maintained, including hiking trails, public facilities, showers, boat launch and pick up, etc.
Just a short drive to multiple Blue Ridge Parkway entry points for ease of access to Boone, Appalachian State University, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, and the Linville Gorge.
Mount Jefferson and Grayson Highlands are also just a short drive away for unlimited hiking and incredible mountain views. My personal favorite is hiking with the wild ponies at Grayson Highlands!
We have Firewood available for a nominal fee. Just let us know and we will make arrangements to have it ready for you upon arrival.

It's a unique cozy loft style design, set back in the woods on our property. It's purposely placed next to a creek, with a nice stone fire ring to really enjoy the outdoors. In the cold months, it's heated by a wood burning stove. Also next to the house are logging roads that allow you to hike the Ripshin Mountains. The Yadkin River is near by, and so is Boone and Blowing Rock. If you like mountain biking, bring your bike to ride Kerr Scott, or Zacks Fork trails. Also, check out the workshops at Pattersonschoolfoundation.org They offer sustainable living classes such as cheese making, mushroom foraging, blacksmithing, soap making, kimchi making, etc... The cabin is ~20 ft from the back corner of our house on a slope overlooking the North Fork of the New River. It is built on stilts next to a tree giving it a treehouse feel. You’ll have your own access to our side yard gate on natural stone steps. From the gate, there is a short staircase to the 8 X 10 front deck, partially enclosed for privacy. You may encounter our us, our small dogs or cats or us as you pass through the yard.
The cabin is 10’ X 12’ with a small kitchen, sitting area, and sleeping area. The outhouse, with a composting toilet, is accessed through the 8’ x 6’ secluded back deck. The kitchen area consists of a sink, 2 burner hot plate, Keurig coffee maker and mini fridge. At the present time, there is no running water or working shower but drinking and cooking water is provided. We expect to have running water in the spring of 2024.
There is a one-lane dirt lane easement just below the cabin that you’ll cross to access the riverfront. A few cars will pass by daily but most of the time it the lane is very quiet. The lane continues along the river for about 1 mile before it becomes paved, making for a lovely peaceful walk.
You’ll have unlimited access to the river and riverfront lawn with seating and a firepit. The river is ideal for fly fishing for Brook, Rainbow and Brown Trout. This section of the river is regulated as “wild” public mountain trout water (open year-round, single hook artificial lures only, minimum size 7 inches, daily limit 4 fish). Kayaks and bikes are available for your use. The cabin is a 45-minute float upstream or downstream of two access points.
