We love camping, and when we decided that state campgrounds and the like were just too busy, we found this amazing, secluded property on a small lake with no public access.
There is a cabin on the property, which is available for limited rentals. However, we have a great flat yard just a short (2 min) walk to South Pond thats perfect for a tent. There's a rustic outhouse, fire pit, picnic table, and usually games like badminton setup. Our property is a couple miles down a private dirt road. Fishing is great (with a license of course), and the water is perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding.

Tucked in the woods, 3 miles outside the village of Johnson, this off-grid hideaway invites you to unplug without roughing it. There is no WiFi, no plumbing, and no buzzing appliances. Instead, you get a full-sized memory foam bed with fresh linens, solar and battery lights, a Jackery power bank to charge your phone, firewood, and a little kitchen setup with everything you need to cook a meal. There’s clean drinking water, real dishes, a Coleman stove, and a composting outhouse that is tidy, private, and surprisingly pleasant.
You can walk in, pedal in, or drive in. If you are biking the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, I can meet you in town and bring you and your gear up to the cabin.
Pets are welcome as long as they are well behaved and come with a human who will clean up after them.
Johnson is just a short stroll from the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail trailhead and has everything you didn’t know you needed. A coffee shop and a tea house for whatever kind of caffeine emergency you are having. A grocery store that carries a little bit of everything. Chinese takeout. A laundromat. A sit-down spot for a warm meal. Johnson Woolen Mills and Vermont Flannel for souvenirs that feel like hugs. Butternut Mountain Farm Store for some tasty VT treats. The property here was amazing to be at. I was part of a 4.person group bikepacking through Vermont and came across this as an option for reprieve during a to be rainy night. The main lodge was very homey, communal, and clean. A huge kitchen and plenty of seating/hang out area for folks to catch up and chat. Honestly we would have loved to stay longer and get to know even more about the place as it seemed to have some good history and current operations to it.

This is a magical, peaceful respite. The babbling Brooke is the perfect backdrop. The cabin is perfect and has everything you will need. Jenn is a very kind host and picked me and my bike up after I made a wrong turn getting to the cabin. I highly recommend this spot.

We had a great time staying at Bruce’s property. It was private and our dogs had a blast. Well maintained property near a pond with lots of birds and hardly any bugs. We enjoyed the beautiful cabin, fire pit, and grill provided. We would love to visit again!

It was a great location to the pond. The addition of the kayaks made it even better. The cabin is cozy with the wood stove and perfect for our family. Loved the outdoor shower. The fire pit was perfect for making s'mores on the clear night among the stars. As I spent our last morning looking over the water with a loon swimming by fishing for breakfast, I realized that there is a reason this place is called Eden.

Our family of four and two cats had an amazing time spent on this beautiful, peaceful property surrounded by trees and wildlife. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and comfortable. The lodge was also very cozy, well maintained, and spacious. There was a perfect balance of the outdoors and creature comforts so we felt like we had everything we needed during our stay. This cabin is a wonderful choice for those seeking a private getaway in any season. Our experience was warm and welcoming from the day of our arrival to our departure and I highly recommend staying here!

This cabin was fantastic! What made it even better was how friendly Bruce was ! It is so cozy, the outhouse was spotless and the cots were roomy and comfortable! Bring your own cot pads for extra comfort and lots of blankets. The view of the pond from sitting in the Adirondack chairs was perfect for just enjoying the afternoon reading a book. I didnt do this trip solo but as someone who loves to travel solo I would 100% feel comfortable as a solo female staying here. Super super private! Just an all around great experience. Sadly we now have our own private cabin to stay in close by so I probably wont be visiting again, but if I didnt I would absolutely be coming back. Thanks again !

Amazing location! Very secluded and private. Perfect for dogs. Took paddle boards on the pond and got to see the huge koi fish that lives in there. So much wildlife around, even the fireflies were mesmerizing. Will definitely be back!
