Please come prepared with a vehicle and shoes that are suited for the season of your arrival (mud, snow and ice) for both our property and the town road we live on. The bespoke wooden Tower boasts 360 degree views of the surroundings. It is built on piers and has windows on the perimeter. Come stay on our quiet and scenic farm. Easily accessible from Rt 89 and Rt 4. Our Pick Your Own Blueberry fields open in July. Clay Hill Corners is a 10 acre working Blueberry Farm. We have PYO Blueberries and a farm stand open from mid July to August. We sell organically grown blueberries and produce locally. Learn more about this land: Our private Sugar Shack is at the end of our blueberry fields and faces the forest. The Sugar Shack sleeps two in a comfy double bed with clean sheets and a fleece blanket. I wash the linens and blanket in hot water for each and every booking. Please bring your own extra blankets or sleeping bag if the weather is cold. An additional clean quilt with duvet cover can be added for a $ 10 per booking fee. There is a small porch, a charcoal grill, four chairs, a hammock, a fire ring, fire wood, clean potable cold water, a solar shower, and an outhouse. We provide the firewood for the fire ring and we provide charcoal and lighter fluid for the charcoal grill. There is space available next to Sugar Shack in the field for additional tents or small RVs. (There is no electricity.) The upcharge for additional campers after the first two people is $5 per person per night. Hiking trails through field and forest start at your door. We have a 3 mile round trip hike to Harlow Brook with a map. We are on the edge of a wildlife corridor and often see deer, coyotes, fox, waterfowl, songbirds and the occasional bear. (Keep food in your car at night so that the bear does not eat it!) We are above the Ottauquechee River at North Hartland Lake. We have rentable canoes and a kayak. We can transport you to and pick you up for a canoe trip on the Connecticut River or to North Hartland Lake.. We are located two miles from Quechee, 7 miles from historic Woodstock to the west, and 7 miles to hip White River Junction to the east and 8 1/2 miles to Dartmouth College and the Appalachian Trail. There are fun casual restaurants with some sit down and take-out nearby and our local Jakes Market can provide you with a nice selection of groceries. Hot Air Balloon pilots often take off and land in our fields and it is always a magical site. We can connect you with local pilots if you wish to purchase a Balloon Adventure.

A former farm now a 150 acre forested retreat. Mt Ascutney, a 3500' monadnock is to the north and view in excess of 60 miles to the south. Phone numbers on the wall of the cabin. The road has gotten quite rough with all the wet weather. 4wd with ground clearance is recommended. Total trip from our house is 320yd if your car is not up to the trip in. Curl up in front of the fire and relax. Marsh Billings farm museum in Woodstock has lots of Vermont Country store is close and Woodstock has unique shopping. Spacious one room camp, bunk bed, dinning table, and chairs. Sweeping view to the South. Swimming pond 5 minute walk. LP burner and some cooking utensils. Wood stove for those chilly nights. No electricity but LED battery lighting. l. Note that we do not charge a cleaning fee like some sites. We appreciate our guest leaving the camp as found. So far so good! INCREDIBLE The cabin is gorgeous, overlooks hills and forests, the wood stove kept us warm all weekend and the overall energy of the cabin is just really welcoming and lovely. Exactly what we needed. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and loved our time at John's place. We usually camp but didn't want to deal with all the gear this year. It is private, cozy, the wood stove is amazing! It was the first super cold night of the year, first frost, and we loved being cozy inside with the fire. The outdoor fire pit is great too with incredible mountain views. We had everything we needed, the cabin was perfect, even books/coloring pencils/games. John is responsive and an excellent host. We'd love to return and for a couple more nights next time!

I loved the mountain cabin! My friend Brian and my canine friend Snoop Dawg had a relaxing time sitting by the fire and star gazing, the wood stove was toasty on those chilly nights, and the cabin was equipped with all that you need to cook over the fire or inside. I made an apple crisp over the fire pit our last night there after climbing Mt Ascutney. I would highly recommend this site and the host John was kind and accommodating!

Wise Pines was a lovely off-the-beaten-track place to stay near Woodstock. Incredibly comfortable bed and clean amenities. My dog and I enjoyed walking the beautiful gravel road and hanging out in the common space by the fireplace. Definitely recommend!

This was my second time at the Sugar Shack and it did not disappoint! Marty was a gracious host as usual and the land is beautiful and well cared for. My siblings and I stargazed, had multiple fires using the ample supply of firewood, and enjoyed a few visits from Bluey the dog. On our second morning there, we got to see two hot air balloons launch from the field! It was awesome and Marty checked in with us beforehand to make sure it wouldn't disturb our camping. Highly recommend a visit!

Stunning views, fields, sunsets and stargazing while cooking and strumming guitar around a peaceful campfire with an orchestra of crickets. Then retreating to a cozy cabin with propane cooktop, solar lights, and bunk beds to clean up and curl up. So peaceful. My husband and I and our doggo had an amazing time. John was a gem. Great communication, great people. So many thoughtful details. Our only regret is that it was too warm to light the indoor wood stove.

Weekend Trip to Clay Hill Corners Blueberry Farm

We had a great experience camping on this adorable blueberry farm! Our 1 year old French Bulldog, Bruno, perhaps had the best time of all, as he got to become BFFs with the hosts’ sweet dogs, Bluey and Ella. Our favorite moments were watching them run around our campsite and play for hours together. The sugar shack and the surrounding camp area were private and provided us with everything we could need - a cute little cabin, running water for the sink, solar shower, fire pit, charcoal grill, and trash/recycling receptacles. We really enjoyed how the site was out of sight from the main house but close enough to feel our hosts were at an arm’s length and nearby should we need anything. Marty was super welcoming and helpful, laid out all important instructions as well as ideas for fun outings and activities, both on their land and beyond it. With his help, we took off on a quiet 3 mile kayak trip down the Ottauquechee river where we saw bald eagles and blue herons. At the end, Marty picked us up with the kayaks to drop us back to camp, and even took the time to show us a few extra cool spots for fishing and canoeing. His expertise as a fishing and canoeing guide really shows! Their land is beautiful and serene, very quiet save for the sounds of nature around you. We got lucky to lounge back and watch the hot air balloons hover over the river and nearby the property both days of our trip! This was our first experience using HipCamp and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend!!

Brookside Retreat was perfect for our family weekend getaway. All we brought was our clothes, personal items & food, everything else was provided. Kevin & Alicia were attentive and quick to respond to any questions we had. They are gracious hosts. The beds are very comfortable and it was a great set-up. I would stay here again and will be recommending it to our friends & family!
