Boom, easy explanation. Now, on to the good stuff. In Utah, the St. George Field Office manages around 629,000 acres of land in Washington County. The environment out here is pretty dang unique, because it’s situated at the convergence of the Mojave Desert, the Great Basin, and the Colorado Plateau. Some plants and animals can only be found here in this unique area. Because it’s such a one-of-a-kind spot, the recreation opportunities are just as awesome. The BLM’s website describes them as “as diverse and challenging as the desert landscape.” We’ll raise a glass (or a tin camp mug) to that description! We're on 7 acres of land (all accomodations are on ~2 acres of the land) in a very rural town but please note, we do have neighbors on both sides- one of which have cows, roosters and horses. We have 3 glamping tents and 1 tiny cabin on-site (all of which are available for booking) along with a few shared spaces amongst guests: 2 covered grilling areas, a centralized fire pit and an indoor bathhouse. We are currently in the process of adding 2 more accommodations, a silo and a cave, that will be available by Summer 2024.
Each glamping tent and cabin is about 30 yards apart from one another. We provide all linens and towels for guests, AC/Heater units and hot/cold water year-round.
We're located at the border of Utah and Arizona in Cane Beds, AZ. It's a very isolated area with 2-3 dining options and a large full-sized grocery store (Bee's Marketplace) less than 10 minutes away! Cane Beds, Arizona has beautiful sandstone formations & attractions such as nearby Water Canyon Trailhead, Gooseberry Mesa and Maxwell Park.
The terrain is very similar to Zion National Park. This region is especially known for hiking, mountain biking and ATV trails.
We're also conveniently located 40 min from Kanab, which is a town full of trails and hikes with a ton of great stops on the way (Paria Townsite, The Toadstools, Wirepass to Buckskin Gulch, The Wave, Grand Staircase Escalante).

This land has been in our family for four generations to graze our herd of sheep. We renovated our camps to provide a comfortable glamping space to those who want a one-of-a-kind experience in the backcountry.
One of our best features is the solitude and exposure to Mother Nature. Here, you won't find quiet hours, disruptive campers, or noise and light pollution. These sites provide the ultimate experience for those willing to go off the grid, off the main road, and into the backcountry. This space is where the tourist crowds disappear and the rugged, raw beauty appears.
As the crow flies, the property is just over three miles from the east boundary of Zion National Park. This land is where our family calls home and has been in the Lundgren family for four generations. It is still used for agriculture purposes today. In early June, you may see sheep grazing in the nearby meadows and mid-to-late summer, cows roam the area adding to the uniqueness of the experience.
This part of the country is home to textured red rock, blue skies, and numerous desert flora and fauna, making it an ideal spot for photographers. Some of the animals you might spot include owl, bear, mountain lion, bobcat, deer, coyote, turkey, snakes, lizards, as well as many different types of birds. There is very little light pollution making the night sky dazzling and unforgettable.

Charles really knows what’s up! This lol campground is so accommodating, and right by water canyon, for a nice hike.
Site 1 is the best and biggest, and most private, but you have to haul your gear about 50 ft or so.
He has wagons to use for that, though.
Site 5 is pretty private too, and has the best view of the red cliffs.
If any of your tent spots are slightly slanted, there are some rakes near the bathroom, that I’m sure you could use to make them flatter.
The port a potty is always clean and stocked with paper, and there are solar lights that light the paths, after the sun goes down.
Highly recommend this spot.

We were very stressed after reading many reviews about getting to the location. A lot of the reviews were for camper vans and we were not that. However, we did our research and took our time and it was totally fine. Yes the last 2 miles are a dirt road with lots of bumps and zero guard rail. But if you take it slow and hug the side, you will be fine. I recommend looking up the google maps street view and following it all the way to the ranch because it gave my husband much more confidence to be able to actually see what to expect vs. the mixed reviews about the drive. He honestly did a great job and took it very slow with the bumps and turns. I can definitely see how if there is any rain, it would be probably impossible to make it in or out which made us very nervous to think about. But as long as you have some flexibility with your dates in case there is impending rain or if the weather is completely fine, which it was for us, it won’t be a problem. An even bigger class A made it in at night after us surprisingly (which I definitely don’t recommend as there are lots of firepits you can’t see at night and ruts in the road you should see to avoid). But it’s definitely doable! And once you make it, it la an amazing experience! Also, definitely bring enclosed water just in case. We filled our fresh water tank but I think we lost a lot of it on the drive up with the bumps because we ran out way sooner than we should have. But it was still a great camping experience!

Our stay at Gateway Luxury RV Park was a great way enjoy Zion Park. Although it was about a 30 minute drive, it was an easy and beautiful one. Getting to sit in the jacuzzi after a long day of hiking was the best! We very much appreciated their great service when we had a low tire and the office sent someone with a portable air compressor and got it pumped back up.

Amazing views! Love the casualness of the reservation and could camp out anywhere on the property. Definitely a bit buggy but the views were worth it. Also cool that the cows roaming were so close - could definitely hear their bells ringing when they move which could be annoying or cool depending on the person. Would recommend and planning on coming back!!

Amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing. The views are epic, stunning, just beautiful. I got there at 5 and did not go back out because I just sat there looking at the views for 3 hours. Amazing stars as well. 40ish minutes from Zion Springdale entrance. Highly recommend this HipCamp. I totally understand why it is in thr top 50. I will come back here. There are cows too! I had a Jeep Cherokee and it did just fine just take it easy. Again, highly recommend this place!

4 nights at Camp Land Beyond Zion
We had an amazing time staying in Shanti's glamping tent. This is a very well thought out camp and I hope the new owners keep the vibe. The location is perfect, about 20 minutes from coral pink sand dunes. We appreciated the "super secret" back way to Zion. When you go, make sure you check out the ghost town of Grafton if you like history. We spent most of the day time out and about. Our evenings were quiet with just the right amount of other folks camping to make it interesting. The kitchens are very well stocked with pretty much everything you need. We didn't even need to break out our mess kits. There's pretty much no cell service, but the wifi is quick so you can research things to do the next day. Sliding down the sand dunes was the highlight of the trip for our 14 year old. The hot tub was perfect after a full day of adventuring. The only problem the entire trip was the wind. It's a bit unrelenting. Keep this in mind if you're planning on tent camping. In the glamp tent, it was no problem. My husband was even too hot under the warm blankets. I can't say enough about the view. The mountains in the area are spectacular. 10/10 for sure.

As a person born and raised in Utah, living in Las Vegas, and regularly recreating in Greater Zion, this is where you want to camp offgrid.
Mind that it can be windy, and it is higher elevation than St George (layer up). Lots of trees for windbreaks around.
