Welcome to Capitol Reef Country! Road to the Sun Ranch is located in beautiful Grover, Utah (elev 7,200') along Scenic Highway 12, one of the most scenic drives in the United States. We are a pet friendly RV only campsite. The property is a short 6 mile drive from the quaint town of Torrey, host of the annual Fort Desolation Festival and 15 miles by car from Capitol Reef National Park. Our location provides RV travelers with an ideal base camp for exploring the natural wonders of this region of Southern Utah and the majestic Boulder Mountain. The property consists of mostly pasture land, desert sage, pinyon pine trees and panoramic mountain views. The ranch is surrounded by some of the most amazing scenery anywhere and endless outdoor opportunities! We have a single (self check-in) RV/trailer/van parking area complete with water, power, sewer, WiFi and picnic table. All guests MUST have their own bathroom, clean up after pets and pack out any trash. We are unable to accommodate tent or car camping anywhere on the property unless you are with a group that has a trailer or RV equipped with a bathroom available for use during your stay and no open wood burning fires are permitted at this time. Max trailer length is 28'. Max RV length is 35'. Class A motor homes are not recommended. Livestock enjoy the adjacent pastures during Summer and Fall months typically (June-September). The RV site is available seasonally from April - October.

Our original Tiny House model. This home sits at the top of the hill and looks out across the property, surrounding mountains, and beautiful canyons. This home is our largest at 570 square feet with 400 square feet on the main level, a 12 foot ceiling to an open loft adding an additional 170 square feet, and a feeling of openness.
The master bedroom features a queen sized bed, a flat screen smart TV, a small desktop work space that is convenient for working on a laptop or getting ready for the day, clothes hanging, additional storage space under the bed for luggage, and a thermostat for individual climate control.
The loft area is open to the kitchen and living room and has two XL (Extra Long) twin beds. This is a great space to play games, store extra gear, or just stretch out and relax. The ceiling height is just under 5 feet so you big kids don't plan on running around up there.
The kitchen and living room is an open floor plan with a large sliding door that opens to the deck and beautiful views. The living room has a queen sized sofa sleeper, two lounging chairs, a hand crafted coffee table with storage of extra bedding, and large smart TV. The kitchen is well stocked with kitchen essentials, beautiful stainless steel appliances, a convection microwave oven for cooking and baking, a stove-top, a large refrigerator, a keurig coffee machine, granite counter-tops, farmhouse sink, dishwasher, and a table/prep island with seating for four.
Bathroom: Large glass shower, sink, toilet, hair dryer, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap.
Deck and exterior features include a propane bbq grill, four large Adirondack lounge chairs, private fire pit, astounding views, and breathtaking star gazing.

We have been to many sites and this one was our favorite. We were immediately greeted and even given a tour of the place right away, we felt welcomed and really enjoyed the positive friendliness vibes here. The land is absolutely a special place with an amazing 35mile bike ride trail that loops right to the park entrance, that had some of the best views Iv ever biked. We can’t wait to come back.

Weekend Trip to Sevier River RV Park/Themed Cabins
Rikki is the best host you could ask for. She was so welcoming and always available for anything you needed. The cabin was cozy and warm even in December when we went. There is two cabins nearby but set up in a way that you hardly notice them as they are facing the river. Lots of cute geese, ducks, and chicken running around. We will definitely be back!

Tent camping at Sevier River's was so incredibly peaceful. It was a birding paradise and the lazy river right by our campsite lulled me right to sleep. It's close to the highway, but the road noise was minimal, especially at night. The managers were extremely friendly and helpful, and they brought us a delicious breakfast to our campsite in the morning (for a small additional charge). Highly recommend!

Beautiful and peaceful setting. Very clear directions and instructions. It was wonderful having full hook-up! And an extra nice surprise to receive a gift of coffee! Thank you! It was close to the parks we wanted to visit and our dog enjoyed some off-leash time with us. We very much enjoyed our stay there and most definitely would stay again.

From the beginning to the end, this was a lifechanging encounter. I was looking for a beautiful spot to camp off the interstate between las vegas and denver and was fortunate to find this gem of a spot! Rikki greeted me with a big hug and showed me around the property sharing stories of how she and her husband came to be there! I loved seeing the horses and underground greenhouse and the peacock greeted me in the evening too!
Besides the beautiful energies of the hosts, the property itself feels so relaxing, the river running by the camp spots and cabins. I got to stay in "Margaritaville" and enjoy a fluffy bed and the sunset by the river.
There are showers and laundry available and a DELICIOUS breakfast in the morning.
I can not wait to bring my husband back and explore more. The time was short but WAY more than I thought I was signing up for. I highly recommend this spot. And will be back soon!!

Awesome, generous folks (Rikki & Heather) who go out of their way to accommodate and help! Beautiful location, plenty of parking options, nice breakfast (plus eggs to purchase from their own chickens!) They also have horses, flocks of geese, peacocks and other animals… plenty of things to do (altho we could only stay one short evening!) - perfect middle stop for our route from Orange County CA to Colorado! We will definitely come back - possibly for a small family reunion❣️

Privacy and views were great. The hookups were straightforward (especially once I got the longer connector hose that was available to borrow) and well maintained. The host qas responsive and helpful but not intrusive. Five stars... And thousands more to see above with the great dark sky conditions. My wife and I loved staying here.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The owners were super friendly and responsive. The breakfast that we got was also incredible. Easily our best stay out of our entire trip! Would highly recommend. Only extra point to know if that the showers are coin operated so that was kind of annoying.

I loved car camping at Sevier River! I had an incredible spot, super shady and just a one minute stroll to the river front. I felt super safe as a single woman traveling alone with her dog, and car camped with the windows down. Super relaxing and quiet grounds. During the day, there was bunnies and horses roaming around and my dog had a blast chasing the geese. The bathrooms and showers are very clean, and it was so nice to have drinking water onsite too. Rikki, the owner, even comes down in the morning and brings breakfast! Loved it here and will definitely be back.
