Weekend Trip to The Hive Yurt Retreat

Such a lovely place! We have stayed in many rental units over the years, but this was our first yurt (we are usually tent campers) and it was Wonderful. Clean and well kept with every detail considered. Bathrooms are easily accessible and also clean and welcoming. Sauna is the Best! (and they even provide bathrobes)! Despite the quick Texas-style weather change (from 75 to 40 overnight), we were warm and cozy inside. Our weenie dog even felt like she was home.

This place is always awesome, but this new site takes it up a notch! The full size tent that you can walk in, the front porch and back balcony and electricity make it so comfortable and fun! When regular tent clamping gets old, or you are more of a glamper I can’t recommend this site enough! Plus the host Barry is always the best!

I had a great time "glamping". The yurt was so nice. Mandy was SO accommodating and flexible. She had no problem upgrading us to another tent because the AC was on the fritz temporarily. What a cool place.

Weekend Trip to Hideout Ridge

Magnificent place! Secluded and quiet. Lots of trails to walk and find interesting things. Don’t be like me and forget to bring food and a way to cook it if there’s a burn ban because the stores are not exactly a 5 minute trip. We will be back without a doubt!

This has truly been our favorite campground in this area of Texas! Barry is amazingly kind and attentive, always going above and beyond to keep the place spotless and beautifully maintained. The atmosphere feels so peaceful and safe — the perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. We got to hear Barry's stories, and he even sang for us, which made the experience unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back!
