Our homestead is a few acres in East Texas, near Hawkins. The land has been untouched for about 30 years, maybe last used for cattle grazing. We're keeping the property as natural as possible, we live here off-grid and off-pipe.
There’s a 17 acre lake that we share with neighbors. It’s full of bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish, we encourage catch and keep fishing since the lake could use a little fishing pressure. We also have a beaver pond, and resident beaver.
Some of the wildlife we see regularly: fireflies, turtles, cardinals, bluejays, hummingbirds, kite birds, frogs, opossums, armadillos, beaver, river otter, road runners and rabbits. You can enjoy wooded walking paths in the 90-acre forest and pastures, ponds and wildlife, including deer, wild hogs, hawks, owls, roadrunners, doves, cardinals, jays, woodpeckers, mockingbirds, and many other species of birds. Small mammals such as armadillos, rabbits, and squirrels are often seen, and the property is also awesome for stargazing. Please watch out for snakes, scorpions, pesky mosquitoes, chiggers and ticks. Cody and Ingrid were very friendly. The property was lovely. I camped on site #1 which is by the pond. You get serenaded by frogs in the night which is pleasant. I only stayed one night, but wish I would have stayed another night since it was very relaxing especially during long driving trip.

I was very happy staying here very clean and quiet. Just what the doctor ordered i stayed at campsite A and it was just the right amount of space needed to put my camper in. At night I was visited by this huge dog who was really friendly and just wanted to get some pets in. He scared me at first but when I petted him he just melted in my lap. Just a all round peaceful time.

Barefoot Gee’s is the hidden gem of the camping world. If you are like myself, you long for a full hookup camping spot all by yourself, nestled in the East Texas woods with nobody to share your perfect spot with. If so, then look no further. Linda is an awesome host and has a perfect spot for everyone to enjoy. I have found my spot and will be booking it as much as I can, so you better get there before I do.

This is our second time coming here and we are convinced this is our new recurring spot. Rick's land is so peaceful and full of beautiful camping spots that we're excited to keep exploring. Rick is always so attentive, helpful and so sweet to us, making our stay extra special. The horses and donkeys are a dream and makes the experience even more magical. Had a great time here! The area was spacious, camp fire and tire swing along with grill area in great locations. Host was super nice as well as her pup who my dog got along with and that's saying something because she likes her personal space. Her dog was a great watch dog of the area, showing my dog around the area and he spent time around my camp area which was nice. Great scenery and I would definitely stay here the next time I want to visit East Tx and go camping 😀

Great place for friends and family. I brought my friends out there for a 2 day campout and it was a very great experience. I have 2 small children and they had a blast playing with the toys from the game shed and on the playground. Overall a great experience and 10/10 would definitely recommend!

We had a great time. The site was nice with a big stone for ring and a soft bed if pine needles. The host, Linda, was very accommodating and responded quickly to communications and made the trip stress free.
We loved Porter the goat, Andy the big lovable dog and Molly the little friendly dog. Andy and Porter slept outside of our tent and it was adorable.
The location of pretty with some room to explore.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tent camping experience on Site #1 on Cody and Ingrid's land. The site itself was incredibly spacious and felt private. We especially loved the nearby pond, which was the perfect starting point for a beautiful trail that loops right back to the campsite. The clean and stylishly decorated bathroom was an excellent bonus! Thank you for a truly memorable and refreshing stay.

My family and I had a great time! Rick was a perfect host. We mentioned wanting to do some fishing, so he put us near the pond. We were able to catch some decent-sized largemouth bass and bluegill. At our camp, we were visited by many of the animals roaming around. Willie and Doc really enjoyed hanging around our camp.
