It was great for a fairly isolated spot. I'm sure the fishing in the area is better during other times of the year, but we still enjoyed our visit. Mosquitos and ants were terrible though....

Came on Labor Day weekend, so I was expecting it to be crowded. It wasn’t. Not like Galveston or Corpus. Nice, peaceful, seaside town. This property has one side on the intercoastal waterway, the other is the beach. Great for fishing or beach combing. The road in is sand/gravel/shells. It has some potholes from the weather, but 2wd can make it. Just go slow. Property was well kept - clean and mowed. I know the description says the host will be there upon arrival, but they weren’t. But, everything was self evident. Host did respond quickly to my message. There is water, 20/30/50 electric, and sewer. There is a trash bin. The pads are pretty wide, enough room to have your lawn chairs/table etc. next to RV. The pads, though, are pretty close to each other. They are very flat. Bring your mosquito and ant repellent. There’s a small Texaco station on the mainland for gas and such. There’s a BBQ stand about a couple miles inland, and the largest restaurant, The Crab Trap, about 8 miles inland. If you are familiar with driving on the sand and have a capable vehicle, you can drive right out there and go quite a ways. A lot or two over is a mooring park that boats will pull up to rest. There’s not any shade so if this is something you desire, be sure to prepare accordingly. There’s lots of frogs at night, but they aren’t loud. Moss Island was perfect. It was peaceful and very clean. I read previous comments before booking. The ants and mosquitos were minimal. The beach is literally right across the road. We just walked the beach some, it was not crowded and you could fish in the surf. The sites were clean and concrete slabs were nice. There was a large grass area, we were able to set up our chairs, tent, and poles. We caught a variety of fish and an eel. We also had fun crabbing. It was cool looking at all the big barges in the waterway . The only issue we had was the heat, but that is expected in August in Texas. We will definitely book again when it cools off some!

Full hookups right next to the beach, can't beat that! Sunrise on the beach and sunset over the canal. This beach is more remote than Galveston so it's a lot less busy.
Lots of birds to watch, especially the pelicans.
The barges in the canal right behind us were fascinating to watch. The noise might get annoying after a while but for 3 days it was still interesting.

Definitely worth it. Fishing for him, beach for her. There is tons to catch and lots of seashells. The road to get to the site is rough but can be driven in a 2wd. The only downside is the fire ants are horrific.

50’ or less from the ICW to fish or crab. I did throw cast for live bait (Shrimp, shad and mullets when the sun rises)
Mother nature unfortunately was tough during the Memorial Day weekend, but it was nice to hear the ocean and just relax.

This was our 2nd time on Sargent beach and it was a much different experience than our first. We came for Memorial Day weekend so it was much busier than our last visit. Our previous site had sustained damage from the hurricane so we decided to try something new. The location was incredible. Great views, good fishing spot on the waterway and a good spot on the beach for swimming. The concrete plots were bigger than we expected which was really nice for our large travel trailer and family. We probably wouldn’t come back during a holiday weekend in the future. We chose to return to Sargent beach for its peaceful nature and remote feel, but it was pretty rowdy over Memorial Day weekend. We were disappointed with the host, who never responded to questions or reached out before or during our booking. They had someone come and spray our belongings with mosquito spray without our permission. And the landscaping crew came the following morning while we were fishing. I think it’s great the site is well maintained, but timing is also important. This maintenance should have been done outside a busy and fully booked holiday. Overall, we had a great time, the site is beautiful, and we will probably return on a less busy weekend next year.

A great location to go fishing. I caught a shark and whiting and my husband caught a variety of fish in the intercoastal. The only down side is the amount of glass on the beach. We will definitely be back though.

Very nice, even had sewer hookup, which I wasn’t expecting, so it has full hookups except for no cable TV . Best part, it has the ship channel on the back side and the beach is right in front of it !!

The spot itself is lovely however getting there can be a bit bumpy. There is a lot of reconstruction going on after hurricane damage so lots of heavy trucks running the one road. For the private drive if a very rough ride and mud are an issue then beware. It is obviously out in no man's land but we loved that. Driving the beach which definitely needs a 4 wheel drive was awesome. Shelling was fun but the wind and cold not much. We're Michiganders so we're used to that but that may determine what time of year to visit as it was cold and no wind breaks. But wowza, what an awesome view. The only problem was where to look first. There were a couple issues but they were dealt w pronto. This was a definite 5 star location for us.
