Bethany was helpful and accommodating, especially considering the last minute nature of my booking. I was only there for a quick overnight stop, but looks like a great place when they have events. There's a barbecue food truck, restrooms, animals, playground for the kids, and a large communal fire pit area.

2 nights at Skoolie in the City

Very comfortable stay with heaters to keep it warm even with overnight temperatures being cold. Bus was hooked up to power and water and gas making it a fully equipped place to stay for a quick shower, using the toilet, and cooking. I even got a little hot at one point the first night with the heaters and warm clothing. Easy to find, easy to park, and not too far away from the suburbs and downtown

Nice, quiet, clean, and secluded camp. Right on the water. Helpful hosts as well. We couldn't ask for more.

Tjona and family went above and beyond making sure we felt welcome, from inviting us in for a home cooked meal, to helping us get our bus unstuck after a few days of rain. Can't wait to visit again to see all the renovations they have coming!

Carley's Camping in Crosby offers a safe escape to get away and relax in nature on approximately 1/4 of an acre. Located 1000 ft from access to Lake Houston, the back yard space includes a private side entrance to set up your tent, a fire ring, access to water and electricity, and a small kiddie pool available on request. There is also a BBQ pit and outdoor patio area where you can easily prepare meals. The lake allows for boating and fishing access. Swimming is allowed in the lake, but not recommended. There is a Dollar General and Exxon conveniently located at the entrance of the neighborhood where you can stock up on food, ice, gas, etc.

Established in 1877 by the Nelius Family, the ranch began as a cotton and cattle farming operation, utilizing horses in the fields until 1948. In the 1950s, Trenckmann Nelius diversified the ranch by introducing chicken and egg production, while still raising cattle and growing maize to feed the chickens. In 1973, Trenckmann and Margie Nelius transformed their vision into reality by founding Coushatte Recreation Ranch, initially offering just 24 campsites. Over the years, the campground has expanded significantly to accommodate 225 sites, complete with full hookups for both 30 and 50 amp service. The campground's name pays homage to the Coushatte Indians, and visitors can explore an Indian Mound on the property, where numerous arrowheads have been discovered. After many years of dedicated management, Trenckmann and Margie passed the torch to their son Howard and his wife Pamela, who operated the ranch until November 2019. The campground is now under the ownership of George Jarkesy, who aims to enhance the experience for guests.
