What went well? EVERYTHING was better than described or expected. My wife and I were met by Bo (sorry if not the spelling). Smiling from ear to ear and just an overall wonderful person. He helped us take our things to our cabin and described different things that we could do. Everything from a scavenger hunt to harmonica lessons. Beautiful property nestled away from traffic or prying eyes. The cabins are spaced well far apart so you do not feel like others are in your business. I could not believe how well stocked the cabin was. Plenty of blankets, heaters, ceiling fans, air conditioning, cookware, microwave - this was literally the easiest camping experience I've ever had and I'm 55 lol. They also have a fire pit area for each individual cabin to make the experience even nicer. We spent 2 evenings and just had a blast. There are plenty of places to get wonderful food, beverages or any other thing you and your family might need. This is a must stop for camping on a wonderful level. Each cabin also had its own 5 star outhouse and 5 star is the truth! Absolutely cleaner than public restrooms with every necessity. I highly recommend this camping spot!

The site was nice and had everything we needed. The bathhouse was very well taken care of and an easy walk.

We had such a great time staying here for the weekend. Bridget was so friendly and helpful and she gave us great tips for fishing. Site 2 was perfect ! Great weekend getaway with the kids.

We absolutely loved camping here. Both Hollis and Beaux are AMAZING hosts. Extremely responsive and kind people. The site was beautiful. We stayed at site 4, surrounded by trees, but still able to see the stars. Beautiful lights wrapped around the tree and equipped with a grill, fire pit, and picnic table. It was truly such an amazing campsite. The outhouses were well maintained and there was even a hot water shower, also well maintained. The whole campgrounds itself is beautiful and has such a wonderful vibe. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

Really enjoyed my weekend here! Very peaceful, the nature was beautiful and very friendly and helpful hosts.

We brought our own camping chairs, but there were also chairs available and picnic tables.

Tent

We stayed at one of the tent sites and it was great. Very nice area, surrounded by trees, quiet, dark, perfect. The shower and outhouse were well kept and the hosts were friendly and helpful. I'm very happy we stayed here.

One of the best out there. Bridget was fast to respond and really cares about the guest experience. She went above and beyond a few times unprompted. The sites were great and spaced well apart. Easy drive from Austin. Kayaks available for rent and we took them out to go fishing. Beautiful land that is well taken care of. Plenty of details that show that the property owners care - from the fire pits to the showers to the layout of the sites - all very well thought out. Our family had a wonderful time. One note - you can hear the train horns at night, which kept us up the first night. They didn’t seem to bother us as much the second night. Bring earbuds if you’re sensitive to that. We’ll be back. Thanks again!

Beautiful campsite and well taken care of by our host Bridget! It is a peaceful location and the river access is pristine. The meadow that the campsite is located in during the spring time is beautiful.

We loved glamping in our RV at the Happy Horse Ranch. Our hosts were SOOO helpful with maps, recommendations and hospitality. We loved the ukulele song Hollis came and played us at our campsite. She was so talented and created a song based off of our conversation. It was unbelievable. Great people, great place. My family and I will be back.

This place has been around a while for horse stays and it shows. The set up is really great with 2 composting toilets, a place for washing dishes with hot water and a shower. The hosts are some of the most responsive and most well organized that I have seen, which matters enormously. They were ready for us, guided us to our spot and even made sure we backed in our popup trailer without issue. Gave us a map with local highlights and provided enough to have a fire - wood, firepit, chairs. Electricity and water are at sites 8 and beyond along with a picnic table for meals. The place is just next to McKinney Roughs Nature park which offers lovely hikes, Bastrop is 1 minutes away with great food for a small town feel, and Austin about 20 to 30 with of course endless options.

I absolutely love spending a few days here every year. Quiet and peaceful. Hollis and Beaux are wonderful hosts Can’t recommend enough. :)

Really beautiful site. The river was great for fishing and paddle boarding. The kids had a blast. The bath house was clean and convenient. Bridget was responsive and helpful. The only small negative was noise at night (train, dogs barking); it isn’t terrible but detracts from the beautiful birds in the morning.

Weekend Trip to Country Glamping By The Pool

Everything was great. It was quiet and we had privacy. Bathroom and shower were amazing, we loved how it was set up. Huge plus that the yurt has heating and cooling. Our dogs had a blast roaming the land. Plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Some amenities could use some upgrading, but still a great stay. Would go again.

We visited as first time RV campers and had a blast. The property has wonderful bike trials our kids loved exploring (8 and 10 yrs old). The property is also located close to amazing hiking, kayaking, and fishing spots! Don't forget the music lessons, we now have a new aspiring ukulele player! We cannot say enough wonderful things about this camp site 😀

Simply Wyldwood is a 10-acre homestead and mindful living retreat including a food forest at the edge of the woodland and an 800-square-foot movement space called My Yoga Barn. My Grandparents purchased this property in the '70s and my Grandfather wanted to live from the land and my Grandmother loved her community, bluebonnets, and roadrunners. I'm honored to now grow more food for my community and share this healing space in nature. This is a "choose your own adventure" experience. You can camp in the Yoga Barn or bring your own tent and sleep outside. During your stay, you are invited to relax or roll out your mat for yoga on the shaded deck or sun deck, in the Yoga Barn in the AC, and book a private Yoga/Meditation class or Mindful Forest Bathing Experience from your host who is an instructor in both. Enjoy strolling through the trails on the property and touring the food gardens viewing chickens roaming on the way. There is a full bath in the Barn and a private hot/cold outdoor shower to use to cool off during the day and has a lovely view of the stars overhead at night. Country Glamping By The Pool

Camp out in a beautiful country setting in the Yurt, a 20 ft bell tent, with a pool and plenty of outdoor activities. The Yurt has AC and heat. It has a queen bed, desk, sofa bed, fireplace and twin bed. Enjoy the pergola dining and lounging area, a private bathroom, outdoor shower with warm water. Lots of space to put up tents and play. There is an in-ground fire pit as well as an outdoor kitchen with gas grill, mini-fridge, and sink. Also a charcoal grill if you ask. You can enjoy access to a basketball court, disc golf, croquet, easy hiking trails, and pool volleyball. Firefly Ranch

The property borders a small creek and has abundant trees, and wildlife. Beautiful views from every vantage with a high field on one half of the property and a low bottom land near the creek where there are many options for a relaxing, private stay. Chose big sky or a more secluded spot. Incredible wildflowers on display in the spring. The property is not bordered by close neighbors or dense housing, just more land so sunsets and rises are wonderful and open. Low ambient light pollution at night means the stars are very bright (and so are the fireflies)! Guests are required to communicate estimated time of arrival well in advance. When arriving, make sure to meet Aaron or a designate at the red gate before entering further into the property. If tent camping, please do not bring glass containers, also you must pack out all garbage and waste. Inquire ahead of time to see if firewood is available to be gathered on site, or if you will need to bring your own. No uninvited guests without 24 hour prior approval, and additional guest fees paid. Also please no more than one dog per site.
